Shop ‘n Save

3:00 on a Saturday and only two lanes open. Both those lines were 5 – 7 people long with FULL carts. Then the express lady said she’d take whoever is next to help with the lines. And then we get in express lane and everyone’s starts bitching at us for having a cart full and they only had 1 item. Il never go to this store again. The bathrooms had shit dripping down the stall doors and was so unsanitary.

This location is the absolute worst!
For every one good staff person there are five horrid ones!
I live in the area and used to frequent this location and have been on the receiving end of a staff persons «bad day» one too many times! For the pennies on the dollar that I save and the bagging of my own groceries, this place is just not worth the headache! The Shop ‘n Save on the opposite direction of Watson is relatively the same distance for me and they offer much better service and selection.

Shop ‘n Save gets a bad rap. I don’t think it’s entirely deserved.
For the most part, they have the exact same stuff, often at better prices than Schnucks or Dierbergs. Every time I say to myself, «Surely I’m not saving that much money by going to Shop ‘n Save,» I go to Schnucks to try it out and end up shocked at the size of my bill.
Another nice thing about this location — and other locations nearby — is that they frequently have a Thursday special where if you spend $ 50 or more, you get $ 10 off. It really adds up!
The produce at this location is actually fairly decent. They don’t have as big of a selection as some places, but compared to the Schnucks just down Watson, the quality is actually superior.
On the negative side, their cheese selection is absolutely atrocious, their meat selection is mediocre at best, and they don’t have a butcher counter. I have gotten a piece of meat cut down to a more appropriate size, but I had to ask the guy who was stocking the meat section. He was friendly, but I sort of felt like I wasn’t supposed to be bothering him.
In the end, it’s pretty good for most of your everyday groceries. If I need a fancy cheese or a nice cut of meat, I’ll go elsewhere.
