My father-in-law turned me on to the Scotsman a few years back. Excellent service from a non-pushy staff — buying and selling couldn’t be easier. If you’re interested in keeping regular tabs on bullion values the gold and silver trading sheets are a great tool.

Fabulous selection and service. Love the new building. If selling stuff you no longer need, they have the best prices. Most of the sales people are great. With all businesses there are a few bad apples.

I’m a small buyer of approximately $ 100 per month of silver rounds. Since my move to St Louis about 18 months ago, I have done my purchasing here. Excellent family business with very courteous staff that has been very patient with explaining the basics of precious metals. They make you feel welcome and important regardless of purchase amount.

I love this place! It’s not just for coin collectors! I love any place with fine antiques and estate jewelry. Scottsman also buys gold, coins, and gem stones. I have done business with them on both sides– buying and selling. They also trade in items. They give a very fair price. They beat my highest offer on a vintage Rolex I wanted to sell. Today, I was looking at diamond rings. They didn’t have one I really went crazy for so the lady went into the safe and pulled out some rings that they hadn’t listed for sale yet. The owner came over and made me an amazing deal on a beautiful estate pave diamond ring. I was so shocked at the level of service. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. The staff is extremely knowledgable on almost everything. They have someone for every category be it diamonds, high end wristwatches, coins, paper money, art, antiques. This is truly a one stop shop!

Today I took in Confederate dollars, some jewelry and foreign coins. The Confederate dollars were fakes. So, they’re recyclable material. They took most of the jewelry. Two foreign coins were accepted. The majority were coined as «Monopoly» money. All in all, a successful trip.

I walked in with seven old coins with face value of $ 3.08 and a sterling silver necklace and walked out with $ 152. How do you like them $‘s. Of course, Patt C.‘s sister would say, «why bother». If she’d clean out her coin purse, she might be singing a different song. Check out those old coins and jewelry you’ve tossed in to a drawer they may be able to provide you with a night on the town or give you some extra money for the holidays. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making your transaction fun.
