Decent shop with nice selection. I just recently became a woodturner, and I love my cute little midi lathe, but for a while I had no workbench for it. I came in here looking for a bench, and sadly, the ones that would have been suitable were more expensive than my lathe itself! Alas. Apparently they did not have any Nova stands in stock either, so I had to look elsewhere. But for the time I spent in here, everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable. I would like to come back for a class. Their tools and blanks are kinda pricey though. I tend to buy my tools on eBay/craigslist/etc. if I can to save $$. I get my turning blanks from a guy who knows a lumberjack(LOL!!) to save money but he can only get wood that is native to this area, so I would consider coming back to Rockler not only for a class, but perhaps to try out an exotic or unavailable in this area piece of wood to try turning. Overall not a bad store, just kinda expensive, IMHO.

My most recent stump carving project sent me on a search for some wood carving tools; knives, chisels and gouges. The limited selection and low quality of tools found at the big box stores made me look elsewhere. If you like to work with wood this is your store. This is a store for wood workers & carpenters of every level. The staff is not only well informed about all of their products but also very passionate about the craft. I was promptly greeted and given a quick orientation to the store. After starring at the selection of carving utensils for 5 mins I was given a quick tutorial on chisel and gouge selection and also how to properly maintain the tools. I also noted a very large selection of router bits, wood stains, cabinet hinges & slides which may be useful for future projects
