I got tricked into visiting this place because it is located in Busy Bees’ former building and has Busy Bees’ old phone number, too. So, I just assumed that BBs had changed its name.
I dropped off some espadrilles for re-​heeling, some Loubs for a protective sole, and some wedge pumps for winterizing. Both cobbler and clerk refused to give me a solid pick-​up date.
When I called a week later, they told me «next week.» When I drove across town the following week, only one of the three pairs was ready.
When it was all said and done, the quality of the work was mediocre at best. Worse: the sole on one of my pricey espadrilles was detached.
No mention of the damage. No apology. I’d have brought them back and asked him to fix his mistake, but I frankly just don’t trust him.
