There is something wrong with the owner of this store. He has always been rude but today it was so horrible. He sold me a pair of laces that he insisted were the right size and I questioned him because I knew I needed 36 and these(not in a box) were labeled 30. After I left I compared to my old shoe and they were 12 inches shorter so I returned and asked for the correct size which of course is 36. He got very pertubed and shoved them at me. He needs to think about his actions as this was terrible treatment for no reason.

This guy does a great job on anything related to shoes, leather, etc. Highly recommended. A little expensive but you get what you pay for.

I brought some Prada lace-ups to this guy. The sole of one of the shoes had separated from the leather upper. The guy(who I believe is the owner) did a great job of repairing the damaged shoe and reconditioning the black leather uppers and white polymer soles. I was impressed that the white stitching on the black leather didn’t show any signs of being stained with black polish. One point of criticism: some of the glue looks to have globbed onto the leather of the shoe where it was repaired. Fortunately, the residue is somewhat inconspicuous. An observation: the shoe’s gray shoelaces have some black polish on them. I’m not sure if this a result of the repair or the many years I’ve worn the shoes. Total cost: $ 95. As others have mentioned, payment is upfront.

I’m surprised to see other reviews as my experience was excellent. The price was reasonable. The gentleman who helped me at the register who is, I believe, also the cobbler, was professional, kind and helpful. Finally and most importantly, the quality of the work was absolutely top notch. I brought in a pair of black Chanel wedges that had suffered serious damage during the miserable winter/spring of 2014. The leather along the bottom of the soles was swollen and discolored and a little hole in at the base of one heel made the entire task seem totally hopeless. I had previously brought my wedges to another cobbler and been disappointed at his attempts to revive them. So, I went to Cobblestone Quality Shoe Repair as a final effort to save them. The turnaround was 7 days; the charge was $ 37; and my wedges look beautiful. He bought me at least another season out of these shoes. I’m delighted with this place and will be back.

The guy did a good job with replacing the soles of 2 pairs of my wedge heels that I wear all the time, but the price was pretty outrageous– $ 120 for each pair! Actually, I realized after the fact that he charged me $ 110 for the first pair, and $ 120 for the second, even though it was exactly the same pair of shoes and the exact same fix. He also makes you pay up front. The shoes themselves were each about $ 300, so I figured it was worth it to get them resoled rather than buying new ones, but in retrospect I should have gone elsewhere. Also, he’s a little bit of a creeper– the last time I went in there he said«you look lovely today» and«I hope to see you again soon» with a creepy smile on his face. Ick. Next time I need shoes repaired I’m going to go somewhere else.

A tale of 2 services… Part 1 Last Sat, I had the pleasure of experience some of the best and some of the worst customer service I have ever received(hence, the title). This place had the WORST. Avoid this place at all costs. I will take some responsibility for what happened… when I dropped off my shoes and the owner(Joe) was generally snotty and insisted on payment up front for what i thought was a ridiculous price($ 50) on a seemingly simple repair(re-gluing the footbed of the shoe to the base), I should have run. However, with the fate of my favorite pair of summer wedges in the balance, and a 12 hr a day job keeping me from seeking out a place not on the way to or from work, I relented. After indicating my displeasure with the price and the pre-pay policy, I even asked«what if I am not satisfied with the work?». Joe again said how long he had been in business and customer satisfaction wasn’t an issue. I was skeptical and stated I would use my credit card to ensure buyer protection. Good thing too. When I went to pick up my shoes, I was appalled. The footbed of the shoe, which had been re-glued to the base looked like a 5 year old had done it. There were bubbles in the cork part of the wedge and residual glue was everywhere. Several areas of the leather not near the repaired area had glue on them. It was horrendous. On top of all that and most noticeably, several areas of the cork wedge had been chipped away. When I questioned Joe about this, he first said some must have come off when he was cleaning away the old glue. When I said that damaged the shoe and I was dissatisfied with the quality of this work, he then blamed me and said it must have been that way when I brought them in… uh, no. I asked for my money back as this was not a quality repair. Joe declined. He offered to try and fix the areas of missing cork, but would need to wait until some cork«came in». He wouldn’t provide any sort of timeline, but indicated it would be over a week and my shoes would be held in the meantime. Frankly, based on the crappy job he did the first time, I didn’t want him attempting any kind of patch job. I said I wanted to take the shoes, but wanted some or all of my money back. He said«that’s not going to happen». When I said I would take it up with my credit card company, he said«I don’t care». That seemed to be his entire attitude toward customer service. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company, but if you value your shoes and want to be treated like a customer, take them somewhere else.

A very dependable and reliable show repair operation that has good products and takes their job seriously. The overnight drop-off bin is a nice feature and the quality of work is excellent. I can highly recommend Cobblestone for quality. Store is very clean, nice, professional and contains lots of shoe-related products to help you. My own personal experiences have been very good, but I offer a couple of caveats: 1) If you have expensive shoes, they are worth repairing, however, repairs and re-conditioning is not cheap. Some shoes I bought on sale now have more in repairs than their original cost – which makes no sense, but they are comfortable. 2) Sometimes repairs take 2 weeks, not outrageous if you love the shoes, but kinda long in today’s world. Why not hire more staff an guarantee repairs within a week? 3) Hours: 8 – 6 M-F and 9 – 4 on Saturday is a bit limited for a service industry, That said, the drop-off box solves half of that problem. In sum: Take your good shoes here and they will look great and last long after Cobblestone takes care of them. If you buy cheap shoes, you may be better off buying new ones.
