It had been over 5 years since I had been to PW Pizza. It’s still good. There were 3 of us and we shared 2 pizzas and had to go boxes. I ate the Pulled Piggy Pizza(house bbq sauce, pulled pork, caramelized onion, slaw & gruyère). It was great! Service was cheerful and quick. I won’t wait 5 more years to go back…

The waiter was incredibly friendly and checked on us often. He was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We received our food quickly and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Super cool pizza place! My husband and I stopped by before a wedding reception for something little to eat and a drink. The bartender was very attentive and friendly. I think his name was Neal? Not sure. The pizza was amazing! We ended up eating the entire pizza!!! We will be back for sure.

Very cold in here, like my second piece of pizza was already cold. Strawberry field salad was tasty. Pizza had good flavor but crust was undercooked, cheese not all melted. Not somewhere I’d go back to. The tops weren’t spread evenly so one slice only had green peppers when the next only had meat. Kind of a disappointed. I would have given it three starts but our waitress was so bad, my brother-in-law ordered a beer and she forgot about it, we had to ask multiple times for a box, she didn’t offer more water(our food hadn’t even arrived) we had to ask for it.

Poor service, empty drink cups, beers that never showed up. The crust on the pizza was awesome. To bad the cheese wasn’t melted and the toppings were only warm. We came for an early dinner on a Saturday. The restaurant is neat but we sat by a window and it was super drafty. Warm pizza toppings were cold by the second slice. The pretzel appetizer wasn’t anything special but the salads with the oranges and strawberries was delicious. And when it was time to pay the bill she brought the wrong bill, so I had to wait for her to come back minutes later and then more minutes later with the new one and then more minutes to collect the credit card and more minutes to return it.

Excellent pepperoni pie! That’s where our experience ended. Poor service from beginning to end, and I witnessed extremely questionable cleaning practices. The space is cool with very well done murals, but there are also torn booths. My hope is that the kitchen is maintained with better practices than the front of house. Pizza: 5 stars Service: 1 star Atmosphere: 3 stars Value: 4 stars Cleaning practices: 2

Went out for a girls night and decided fare or pedis we would get pizza for dinner. We had the goat cheese appetizer and pretzel. They both where good, but the bread that came with the goat cheese seamed not toasted enough. One of my friends and I split 2 calzones. One had shrimp and veggies the other was a meat. Sorry can’t remember the names. I liked them, but I don’t think I would get them agin. Next time I go I will just get a regular pizza. Out waiter was nice. Our drinks where never empty and the food came out fast.

One of my favorite sit down pizza places. Good beer selection. I’ve never been disappointed. The Wolf is my favorite pizza, and the hummus there is unexpectedly good for a pizza joint.

We came here on a Wednesday night. The service was great; we had a friendly and funny waiter. We order The Pauly which was very good. I was taken by surprise that the Buffalo pizza we had was not spicy; it was still very good! The best part of the pizza was the crust. Overall we were very impressed!

I went to this restaurant because of excellent Unilocal ratings. I experienced it as average, compared to what I am used to in terms of freshness of ingredients and use of spices in food, and freshly brewed craft beer. This experience did not meet these standards. Beer was locally brewed in the St. Louis area, but lacked flavor and that fresh«zing,» so I assume it was shipped in and not brewed that day as are the craft micro-brew beers I am used to. In addition, the veggie calzone I ordered lacked flavor and freshness. For example, the mushrooms were slippery, hard, chewy, and flavorless — like you get out of the can, vs hand chopped fresh vegetables I am used to. The experience was average, nothing bad, but nothing to write home about…

We’re from NY/CT. Let me be very frank about this eating establishment. THEYVEGOTITDOWN! It’s FANTASTIC. This is our third trip, and we will be coming once a week! So. I know pizza, cuz I’m from NY you see. But now I LIVEHERE! So, that being said, hands down the very best pizza in MO! Only thing I would tweak is if they added a touch more fresh mozz on their pizzas. That’s it! They’re the BEST! Gooey butter cake is off the charts! 10 stars! Fresh fresh food!!! Bada Bing!!!

Tried this place because of Unilocal reviews — we will be back! We are typically pizza snobs — one of our favorite joints is Dewey’s. But I wanted to check this place out because of the reviews and the location. It is downstairs from Vin de Set. No wait for a table. We decided to start with apps — meatballs and pretzels for the kids. The kiddos like the meatballs — I thought they were fair but we’re definitely homemade. The pretzel was delicious with the beer sauce or the yummy mustard it comes with. Next we got a spinach salad — goat cheese, nuts, what’s not to love. Easily split the large size. The pizzas only come in one size(12″ or 6 slices). There is three types of dough, we opted for original the first time but want to go back to try the honey wheat. We decided to get a half and half pizza because there were so many good sounding choices. Half buffalo chicken and half the special which was maple bourbon chicken, if I remember correctly. The pizza was awesome. The dough tasted wonderful, it was expertly cooked. My only wish is hat you could get a larger pie! We will be back to try all the various kinds. The atmosphere is cool. You can see the kitchen working, but it has a little of a bar vibe. Our waiter was competent and friendly. I would check this place out, definitely a good pizza spot.

This is one of my favorite spots for lunch in the midtown/downtown area. The pizza is ah-maze-balls, and the atmosphere is always extremely welcoming. As you walk in the front door, you’re hit with the warm, savory smell of pizza — and thoughts of gooey cheese, tangy sauce, and yummy toppings make your tummy growl with hunger. The hostess quickly gets you seated, followed shortly by a friendly server to get your drink order. You’ll love the inviting dining area, that has open wood, industrial looking ceilings. TV’s are in the corners, but I’m usually too busy debating over the yummy menu and enjoying the company of my dining companions. The food is always excellent. I’ve never had a bad meal here. There’s a cool selection of unique pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and adult beverages — along with a couple amazing dessert options. Personally I love the classic margarita pizza and the mushroom pizza — the Wolf pizza with applewood smoked bacon, pepperoni, and housemade fennel sausage is another fav. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a few charred bits on the pizza crust when it’s served. That’s flavor town right there. I love that they use fresh ingredients, make that sausage, and grind freshly cracked pepper as wanted over your dish. Seriously, I LOVE when the server brings out the pepper grinder! In my opinion, forget St. Louis plastic cheese pizza purveyors. PW Pizza is the pie for me!

My wife said it was the best gluten free pizza she has had! And we search out Gf pizza where ever we go. Several gf beer or cider options as well. I had traditional crust with half pepperoni half sausage. Good pie, mine could have spent another minute in the oven, but a very good pie. Liked the sauce a lot. It is now on our list for whenever we visit St. Louis. Great service! Server was beer illiterate, but she fessed up and I don’t really need help picking my beer. I did a flight from their guest taps and all were good choices.

Love this pizza. So yummy. It’s thicker than that thin crispy cracker crust you seem to find in Saint Louis. But it’s not a casserole like the Chicago kind. It’s perfect!!! Love it.

First time here and everything was great. It was my coworkers birthday and the server(Jeremy) heard me say it and brought gooey butter cake out. How sweet is that?!(Make a joke about bringing enough spoons for everyone but ultimately it was up to the birthday girl). I also forgot my receipt so I called up there about 2 hours after lunch. The manager, Wendy, took my info down and emailed me a copy of the receipt within an hour.

Went here with a friend for the first time. The smell of the restaurant is amazing. We ordered the goat cheese appetizer. I would consider getting this as an entrée. It is amazingly good. Baked goat cheese with marinara and crustini. So good! We ordered«The Wolf» pizza to share. The Wolf: tomato sauce, house made fennel sausage, pepperoni, applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onion, green pepper, roasted garlic & mozzarella. Wow! Amazing crust. We ordered original. Phenomenal pizza. I paired it with a beer recommended for The Wolf. Great service. Amazing food. I can’t wait to return.

Never again! The last 3 times I’ve been there the service was terrible. The last 2 times my appetizer came out the same time my pizza did. Tonight the waiter brings our appetizer out the same time as the pizza. My wife and I must of had a strange look on our face. The waiter says«Did you have something to say?» I said well yes, why is our appetizer coming out with our pizza? He said, «sorry I didn’t know.» I said, it’s an appetizer! He said, «do you want me to take the pizza back?» Really!!! My waiter does not understand the concept of an appetizer?! Also, his remedy is to take my pizza back to get cold?!! Please don’t go here unless you want bad service or if you have a ridiculous amount of patience. This just in, there are a lot of other pizza places in town!

Had wings, spinach artichoke dip, white on white sandwich &2 different pizzas(big balls & the wolf). The pizza sauce has a bite to it, so be ready for that. All of it was very good, however. We didn’t try any of them, but they seem to have a nice selection of local microbrews as well. Great service, too! Thanks Amanda!

Tonight we visited PW for our first time and it was amazing! Our 19 mo old(a soup conniseur) loved the corn potato chowder and devoured a cup. My husband and I split a spinach salad(a large was a perfect split) and then split an original crust pizza with vegan cheese matchmeat tomatoes and black olives. It was amazing! The food was exactly what we had hoped for. Our waiter was so helpful and kind towards our daughter. He was quick with getting food out and mindful that there was a toddler at our table. I would come here weekly if I could. This is a hidden St Louis gem!

Yummmmmmmy! That’s all I can say about PW Pizza. This gourmet pizza has all of the right toppings and they come together into the perfect slice of pizza. I got half big balls and half pulled piggy without the slaw. I couldn’t pick a favorite! I kept going back and forth trying to decide, but it wasn’t working out. They were both so different and equally delicious!

Nothing you can’t get elsewhere, but still very good. I feel like I’ve had this style pizza and ambiance before, but that wasn’t a bad thing. The restaurant seating is a bit crammed but I assume this is because the spot is popular. Loved that the pizza wasn’t overcharred on the bottom as many gourmet pizza places tend to do. One thing to note, the Italian sausage used has an abundance of fennel seed, which tends to be hit or miss with many people. Prices were fair and service was very quick. Would come back again. Had the dry rub BBQ wings. Pretty good with the provided dipping sauce. Had the bacon, sausage, onion. Green pepper, pepperoni pizza. Very good.

I ate at PW Pizza twice while in St. Louis. I originally went because it’s about the only place within walking distance of my hotel. The pizza and calzone are top quality. I had the Hawaii 5 – 0 pizza, and a chicken calzone(sorry, if it had a catchy name, I can’t remember it). Paired with a local beer, it makes for an excellent meal. I would recommend.

I ate at PW Pizza tonight. Their menu highlighted their gluten-free and vegan options, but I ended up eating only a small salad … minus the blue cheese and minus the dressing. What’s not clear on the menu is that PW can do *either* gluten-free *or* milk-free, but not both. Those with casein allergies should beware that the gluten-free crust contains milk powder, a fact not disclosed on the menu. If you have multiple allergies, you might try Pi instead. Pi’s gluten free crust is also vegan. Though I was hopeful, I did not enjoy my meal. My two stars reflect the fact that the food *looked* delicious.

This review applies to both PW Pizza and 21st Street Brewer’s Bar, as I believe they partner up when one or the other gets too full. I went to PW Pizza with a couple girlfriends and we had a great time. This location is convenient as it’s close to highways and easily accessible. However, their parking lot is undersized so when it gets busy, the lot fills up quickly. And the spaces are small. Once you get inside, the atmosphere is warm and home-y, an inviting bar and spacious seating. For this visit, we ended up being offered seats downstairs at 21st Street Brewer’s Bar. They had plenty of space but the place didn’t feel empty either. The bar is very spacious and the tabletops are pieces of wood from tree trunks, which adds to the rustic feel. Goes excellently with the black leather perimeter seating and the exposed light bulbs that artfully light the place. Our service was prompt and professional. The waitress didn’t badger us too much and didn’t leave us completely unattended either. We ordered a couple pizzas and a calzone, which come from PW Pizza. The 12″ pizzas are big enough to feed two comfortably. The buffalo chicken comes with ranch on top, which was a pleasant surprise. For some reason, I pictured it on the side. The crust was amazing — not too crispy or dry, with plenty of seasoning and garlic. We ordered a bottle of pinot noir, which was fine. Nothing amazing, but that’s not too unexpected as their menu consists mostly of beers and some cocktails. This place reminds me a lot of Basso in their atmosphere, except with the addition of a couple TV’s. Would definitely like to come here again to sit and have a couple drinks and some good conversation.

It’s been a bit since I’ve been here. Went when it wasn’t crowded and it was great, lots of parking! Waiter specifically asked when we wanted the various items. There were about 4 other parties there. Room was very cold and breezy. Got the ‘our house’ salad. It’s one of my favorite salads anywhere. Ingredients very fresh. The pepperoni is a nice touch and the dad’s vinaigrette was delicious, slightly sweet, light. The toasted dry rub wings are my favorite anywhere, and I’ve had a lot of wings. The taste is divine. Juicy, slightly spicy but not too salty. The ranch has a nice flavor. I could eat this everyday. Got the wolf on the honey wheat crust. The crust is light and flavorful. I like the cloves of garlic that are soft and just melt in your mouth. The toppings are a great combination– sausage, pepperoni, bacon, carmelized onions, green pepper, roasted garlic, mozz, tomato sauce. The green peppers are still raw and I think the carmelized onions make the pizza a little salty. That said, it’s still awesome and my fav pizza here. There is a large variety of drinks. Highly recommend. How often does the app, salad, and pizza each stand on its own as excellent?

I came here on Saturday and ordered dinner at the bar. I had been to PW a couple times before and was super pleased with their pizza. I highly recommend trying out«The Wolf.» For my most recent visit I skipped the pizza and went with 3 cheese artichoke spinach and the«White on White» sandwich. Okay, first off the artichoke cheese dip is the bomb. It’s everything you want in a cheese dip + the best pita you will ever have. The pita had so much flavor. Seriously, I ate the pita straight up. It was light, fluffy, and fresh. As for the sandwich… amazing. It comes with«chicken, tomato, applewood smoked bacon, spinach, provolone & peppercorn ranch.» The bread on it is super fresh. All of the ingredients are great but the peppercorn ranch makes it amazing. Seriously, it’s delicious. My only complaint is the bread to sandwich-contents ratio seemed a little off with the content lacking. However, that ranch made up for it all. Next time I go back I’m going to order at 21st Amendment. That is one of my favorite bars and you can order anything from PW and have it sent to 21st(it’s right down the stairs).
