The best remedy to STL’s hottest days! I love the mix of juices and smoothies that they offer. If you’re in the mood for a good power juice, protein smoothie or vegan dessert, this is the place to go.

Still the best vegan restaurant in all of St. Louis. More vegan restaurants have popped up in the past few years, so they have some competition now– but I think Pura Vegan food tastes best, there is nothing fried or greasy — and it is organic. I love that there is plentiful and free parking in the lot across the street. The staff could not have been more helpful and courteous in serving my baby and me. Their breakfast waffles, Mac and cheese and healthy cookies all get my 1 year old’s stamp of approval. They have wonderful juices and smoothies — I feel good about giving my child anything they offer on their menu.

I ordered the carrot cake smoothie and it was delicious! I can’t wait to go back and try their other offerings. Place is nice and clean with a relaxed vibe and they have great health products. But it is a bit pricey. Only drawback.

Such a great little vegan/yogi hideaway in the debalivere neighborhood. Thank you puravegan for maintaining authenticity.

Props for being vegan. However, the green machine was disgusting — it’s loaded with this powder so it tastes and had the texture of a milkshake made out of powdered Flintstones vitamins. Also the consistency is just gross, way too thick and sticky. They should just stick to the veggies and fruit and not dump heaps of powder in this. On top of this the wait was eternal even though they weren’t busy.

Love this place and go there as often as i can! I wish they were open on Sundays and Mondays too.(Especially Sundays.) That’s just more when i could go. Their smoothies and juices are incredible and worth the price if they’re using all organic ingredients(not sure.?). Consider that a fancy cocktail is often $ 9– $ 11 and consider that instead you’re drinking something really good for you and that’s how I think it’s worth it. It would be nice if they offered«mini“s tho, so that it was less costly to try different flavors out and/or have one with a meal. Maybe they could have a featured smoothie each day that you can get in smaller servings at a cheaper price? I had the new Reuben here recently and it was incredible! Really great flavors and textures. The black bean quinoa soup wasn’t so great. Didn’t have much seasoning to it. I considered getting a kale collard wrap from their to go case but it looked really small for $ 4.99 All in all I highly recommend checking this place out. Get a smoothie, juice, kale salad, and anything from the dessert case and you won’t be disappointed!

I really love the smoothies and the juices here. They also have acai bowls which are a rare find in St. Louis — it’s a little too sweet for my tastes, but other people really seem to like it. It is a little pricey for a quick breakfast($ 8 smoothies) but they make everything fresh and in front of you and the quality is good. It’s not also always the quickest place to get in and out of, even when it’s empty, but again that’s because they make it all fresh.

PuraVegan is an amazing little Central West End vegan café! They offer everything from breakfast, lunch, small treats, smoothies, juice, supplements such as hemp, grab & go prepped meals, beverages, seeds and more. The customer service is very friendly, warm & welcoming but be aware, you will wait. Depending on your order the prep time can be a bit slow so I recommend you not be in a hurry when visiting PuraVegan. Also, it’s not going to be light on your pocketbook. My smoothie alone is $ 10. Add food and you’ll be looking at approximately $ 30 per person. The décor is super cute. Vibrantly colorful wall art, bamboo plants, lanterns, funky furniture and plush window seating. It’s a great place to have a quite meeting, study or grab a healthy meal that’s good for your soul. ~Christy

I’m vegan and have been to this place about 5 times. Just now reviewing because I feel I’ve had the ‘full experience’ here. 1)Super friendly staff 2)Nice feel… books, yoga, nice seating 3) Good variety of raw vegan foods as well as cooked items So why the 3 stars? The price isn’t justifiable to me. I know I’m paying for convenience but I always leave so hungry. I had the kale collard wrap today and as delicious as it was, I was so underwhelmed. I just finished and now have to pick up something else for dinner because I’m that hungry. The spread they use on it was incredible and I recommend adding the avocado on(+$ 1) but it is so tiny. I also had the twix tart which was good but at $ 7 a bit too much. I’ve had their smoothies before which I feel are more justified on the price. I love the mission of this place but the price for me is just not ok.

This place is a true gem! I travel to different locations every week for work, and finding a place to grab healthy, vegan options is always my top priority. I am SO happy I found this place with a quick search here on Unilocal.I got the sprout tacos and chia blondie, both absolutely amazing. And since I usually never have time to go out and get lunch, I also grabbed the kale salad and cornbread to-go for the next day — held up great in the fridge. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, the staff here were so warm and friendly and patiently helped me pick out everything I needed and more(suggesting a to-go cup of their organic cold brew for the next morning, which I just added ice to and was ready to go!) Can’t wait to come back here and try the smoothies and acai bowl — they all sounded amazing.

Ok, a raised carnivore visiting a vegan restaurant? Yeah, hell has officially frozen over. But this place is absolutely amazing and I will tell you why. I always wanted to try a vegan meal. So I came to this place. It was the picture of the tart that drew me in. Yes, the dessert was the deal breaker. My father died when I was 17 of coronary heart disease. My mom has type 2 diabetes and I wanted to change my lifestyle. They have a lot of different options and I walked in so utterly confused on what to choose. The lady at the register was so helpful. So I ended up having a Mac and cheese platter. The dish was very flavorful and did not have a lot of peas. The dish also had tempeh which tasted a lot like bacon. I asked one of the cooks that this couldn’t be a vegan dish because of the bacon taste. He laughed and confirmed that it was 100 percent vegan. For dessert I had one of their tarts, which looked like a peanut butter chocolate tart, but actually had a coconut nutty blend to it. It wasn’t too sweet and it didn’t feel like I had a huge lump in my stomach. The people again were very friendly and gave me a ton of information on how to switch from a carnivore/omnivore diet to a vegetarian/vegan diet. This place also has free yoga sessions that ask for donations. The food is a bit expensive, but with the good customer service, I think I will be back.

This has quickly become one of my go-to places the Debaliviere Place/CWE region. The food. O-M-G. Where do I begin? Here are two guarantees. One: you will feel incredible after eating, even the most hearty of meals here. Two: It’s freakin’ delicious. There are often rotating desserts and and specials. The staple menu is great as well. Some of my favorites so far have been: Carrot Cake Smoothie(IT’S ACTUALLYLIQUIDHEAVEN. Yes, it does taste like carrot cake) Tempeh Chipotle BLT(A Special… sooooo good) Kale Wrap(Holy buckets, I felt so light and incredible) Sprout Tacos(Nom) Monster Cookies Twix Tarts(cue choirs of angels) but really, you can’t go wrong. If you’re new to vegan options, then I would stick with heartier options like Mackincheese(oooo another favorite) or the Quesadilla. In addition to their hot menu, PuraVegan offers a cold case of to-go items and often makes special grab-n-go meals near the holidays. The staff are incredible and gracious-pretty good at remembering names too! The environment is peaceful and a great study space in a safe neighborhood. There’s also donation yoga and meditation three times a day in the space next door. Sometimes there are healthy-eating plant-based diet classes held there as well. The business is also committed to the wider community, partnering with local hospitals, Wash U dining services, and caters as well. They clearly have a holistic viewpoint on healthy eating and living.

I am so not a vegan. Soooo not a vegan. You can pry my Haagen Dazs vanilla with homemade Scharfenberger chocolate sauce and whip cream from my cold dead(fat) hands. And yet, if I had to be a vegan, this place would make it not so bad. Red lentil soup was perfect. Excellent«Beta juice» drink(though I tried explaining to the cashier that I’m really an Alpha guy. As to be expected in a vegan restaurant, she had no sense of humor). Yummy kale salad with — a weird and wonderful twist — a piece of waffle alongside it. Will go back asap between chocolate sundaes.

Solid find for any vegan or gluten-free needs. Service was very friendly and helpful. It’s a pretty casual place, with orders placed at the counter, where you pick up your own flatware. Water is infused with cucumbers and there’s also a little store with spiritual books and vegan clothing. Their menu isn’t too long, but I ordered the tacos and was really happy with the flavor. Their smoothies and cookies are supposed to be amazing, so can’t wait to try them next time!

I walked for an hour to get here and was underwhelmed when I first walked in. Maybe it was low blood sugar or just the fact that I was absolutely dripping with sweat, but my lack of enthusiasm quickly changed when I was greeted by the lady behind the counter. She cheerfully welcomed me to St Louis when I told her I was visiting for the first time and had a lot of helpful recommendations. She also knew all the ingredients in all the menu items and seemed genuinely excited to help me choose the best thing. Well, I had the BLT with soup and it was great. But THEN I had the«twix» tart. Holy crap. What is this sorcery??? It is without a doubt not just one of the best vegan desserts I’ve had, but one of the best desserts period. Phenomenal! It had the perfect balance of flavors and textures. It’s a good thing I don’t live in St Louis, because I would easily gain a hundred pounds and go broke eating fifty of these a day. The cashew«shortbread» is a revolution by itself, but top it with date«caramel» and dark chocolate, and I’m pretty sure this is illegal in some states. Also, it was just great to listen in on the conversations. The staff were having deep philosophical and spiritual discussions, and it was obvious they were all heart-centered, non-judgmental walkie-talkie types who practice what they preach. Well, maybe that’s not the best description, because these guys were all totally laid back and non-judgy even when I walked in all sweaty, not having a clue, and wearing a ton of leather. And then the guy a couple tables away started talking about how he doesn’t know if he can really go vegan, and they were just kind and compassionate and friendly. Period. What a great place! This was the vegan icing on the gluten-free cake of my visit to St Louis, helping me fall even more deeply in love with this incredibly beautiful and diverse city. I can’t wait to come back!

While the décor or vibe are not outstanding — it seems a litttttle dingy inside — the food rocks. Everything is fresh, healthy, and, of course, vegan.

Really outstanding, real-deal Vegan. If you’ve read Dr Fuhrman and go by his ETL(Eat To Live) mantra, this is the absolute best vegan restaurant for you. The problem with most vegan restaurants/cafes is that they go heavy on the oils and the fried foods. PuraVegan eschews oils in favor of nuts, lemon juices, tahini, etc. I went big for lunch, and did the following: 1) Green Machine Smoothie — Outstanding. All fresh ingredients, and this is a smoothie not a juice, so you get all the nutritious fiber, etc. VERY filling in a good way. I watched them make it and they use very fresh greens, bananas, and other fruits 2) Cabbage Raw Tacos — I loved these. The base of the meat was a slightly spicy chickpea concoction with a nut-based sauce on top, a refreshing salsa, and some very fresh, crisp cabbage. Highly recommend 3) Kale Salad — This was a good portion and served with a light, lemon-based dressing, grape tomatoes, and sesame seeds. I found this not as flavorful as I would have liked. Boring I grabbed a couple items to go: 1) Black bean and Quinoa Soup — one of the few cooked items on the menu. Pretty good, but not as tasty as I would have liked. Locals seem to love this, though 2) Chocolate Almond Mylk Smoothie — this was my dessert and it was out of this world. Very interesting flavor profile with a banana and raw cacoa base, almond milk for creaminess, and some cinnamon to make it more sophisticated The crowd was very cool with a mix of suave businesspersons, students, and hipsters. Everyone was smiling and enjoying an eclectic range of dishes. I spied a Belgium waffle, the Carrot Cake Smoothie, the Detox Smoothie, a Pad Thai, a Mock Tuna Sandwich, and another Almond Mylk Smoothie adherent. This restaurant must be kicking in the summer when you can sit outside. Raw food is good, but not the most exciting idea in the midst of winter
