This is a great lunch spot. The American but of food you get is great. When you spend $ 8 – 9 on a sandwich here, you definitely get your Kinsey’s worth. Probably double the size of the portions at Bread Co. Each lunch entrée comes with a great pastry. The cupcakes are a great treat as well.

Let me start by saying that, because this is next to my salon, I have eaten here numerous times in the past. I haven’t bothered to review previously because I thought it was basically an adequate fast-casual restaurant without much else to say. Based on my three prior experiences, I would have given three stars. But the most recent experience I had was so terrible that not only will I not eat there again, I want to warn others. Please note that this negative review is of the service. The food is still adequate. To avoid typing a manifesto, I won’t recount everything that went wrong in our 40-minute dining experience there, I will just hit the two biggest highlights. I ordered a glass of wine and a wrap without cucumbers. Problem One — They forgot about my glass of wine until the food was ready, then they did not have the wine I ordered. This prompted one employee to hostilely complain to me that«No one here ever does anything right,» while pouring me a glass of my second choice. Problem Two — When I picked up my wrap, there were cucumbers sticking out of it. We took it back and told them that I had ordered it without cucumbers. «Oh, that’s right, you did,» said an employee who, because she was not the one who poured my wine, I have some authority to believe never does anything right. We went back to our patio table to wait for the remade wrap, at this point slightly nervous that a walk-up counter dinner was going to take so long I might be late for my appointment. When they brought out my wrap, they had deconstructed it, picked out the cucumbers, and sloppily thrown it back together. It could not be picked up without completely falling apart, so I just unwrapped the tortilla and ate the ingredients like a salad. While doing this, I found 5 cucumber slices they had missed. The wrap was destroyed past the point of being edible as a wrap(the thing I ordered), and they didn’t even bother to take out all of the cucumbers. TL;DR: I ordered two things. I received neither of them. I will not be eating here again, convenience be damned.

I came here for the first time and really enjoyed the pizza I ordered(southwest pizza) and the chocolate covered strawberries that came with them. The price for the pizza was very reasonable too compared to the size of the pizza. I’m going to come back again when I have more time to study the menu and better savor the flavor.

Didn’t go for the lunch menu, but coming from Denmark was impressed with their Cinnamon Rolls(Kanelsnegle) and Kransekage. Also tried their multi-grain rolls(only $ 0.69!) which is the closet outside of Solvang, California I have been able to find to Danish rundstykker in many years. Although my wife tried their coffee and said it wasn’t very good. We also got some left over cookies which looked very good for later. I’ll be back for the limited Danish items on the menu!

The person who took my order was very nice and prompt. I ordered the Gyro & Greek salad. Huge portions for $ 8.99! Salad with olives, pepperoncinis, red onion and feta. I got the dressing on the side. A vinaigrette-tasty. The tzaziki is ok. Also came with a big roll and half a cookie. The Gyro is a lot of romaine Lettuce, bread that resembles pita-but not quite… and the gyro meat consisted of thin strips that were burned all along the edges. Not my fav meal here.

Absolutely amazing cupcakes! I am not from the area but I stopped in and got a dozen for a client(and one for myself). Everyone who tried them wants to go and get more. Highly recommended!

All I can say is WOW the smoked turkey and Swiss was enormous 3 layer added avocado but really didn’t need it couldn’t eat even half of it !!! On sourdough rye yum. Also got a few of the pastry and wow they are wonderful. Fresh you can taste every layer of fruit cream cake. And I picked up a few wagon wheel size white chocolate Mac nut cookies for later but I did try them before I put them up. The food that ive had there has always been good. The service on the other hand is usually terrible. Youd think with prices being what they are the owner could afford some manners for his employees.

I stopped at Pastries Of Denmark over the weekend with a friend. I had a small round tart with a whipped peanut butter in it. It was delicious! I have tried some of the other small pastries here and really, they are all good. I can’t comment on the food because I’ve never actually tried it.

This place is a tad confusing but pretty good… as long as you order well. The term«work-a-rant» comes to mind but the layout is all wrong for effective service. Fortunately, I ordered very well, enjoyed my lunch and will return again sometime pretty soon to delve deeper into their menu. I went with their«pick 2» lunch and had a half tuna sandwich and a half greek salad. The tuna was good but nothing outlandish… pretty much exactly what I wanted. I chose the sourdough bread and they surprised me when I picked up the plate and discovered the«half» sandwich was served club style and was thus ½ piece of bread short of being an entire sandwich. I enjoyed the fresh vegetables, especially the sprouts. The salad was an interesting interpretation of a Greek salad and included sun-dried tomatoes but no olives, feta, cucumber or onions. The cabbage added a nice bit of crunch but the dressing was more akin to a bottled product. The absolute high point was the little piece of baked yumminess I found on my plate and ate for dessert. Yes, their«pick 2» includes a couple of bites of dessert. Gotta love a bakery with lunch items! I loved the chocolate cream in a small tart shell. Very rich and creamy while just enough to feel like a treat without feeling like dessert with lunch.

Ate lunch here on a Thursday. While they were busy, the staff was welcoming and walked us through the menu to figure out what we wanted. It’s obviously a very popular lunchtime spot as indoor seating seemed to be refilled as fast as it opened up. I got a panini and the wife got a salad, with drinks it was just over $ 20. The food was quite tasty and a respectable size for the price. I especially liked the panini bread, a great taste and texture that really made the sandwich. Even better, both meals came with a sugar cookie! We bought two pastries for the road after our meal and a small box of cookies to share. This spur-of-the moment purchase ended up costing more than the meal. My own fault for not checking on the prices I guess, but we won’t do that again.

I can’t speak to their actual establishment today, but yikes, these were amazing. A friend brought these over because I was housebound for a few days. I couldn’t wait to ask where she’d gotten them, they were that good. I’ve been to PofD but it’s been a while. They are the shop’s «petit fours» even though they have a cheesecake quality to them. The bottom right one was, if only slightly, my favorite since it was the most almond flavored. YUM!

I recently was staying at Mercy Hospital and wanted lunch, so my family got take out from here. I’d wanted to try the veggie sandwich for awhile and finally got a chance. This place has sandwiches, salads, even pizzas. And BAKEDGOODS! Lots of baked goods. Everyone in my group got sandwiches. They came with chips and a «chef’s choice» mini dessert. I got my sammie on ciabatta. There are lots of choices and I think they make their own bread. The sandwich was delicious! The house sauce they put on it elevated it. They were generous with it. I’d request extra next time so that I knew I had enough, just in case. The chips were not my favorite — no choice on flavor or type. They were local though, which counts as something I guess. I also wish I had a choice on the mini dessert included! The one that came with wasn’t appealing to me(red velvet with chocolate icing). My husband at it. I guess next time I’d have to order something extra so prevent it from happening. Overall, I will definitely go back for the sandwiches and to try more desserts!

Good food but awful service. I asked for a small to-go box for my pastry and the cashier pointed at the big to go boxes and said, «We’re not allowed to give away the small boxes to customers.» …If the to-go boxes are not for customers, then who are they for?

The cheesecake slivers are delicious. The rest? Not worth the trip. The staff is unfriendly and their dry, uninspired cupcakes don’t do it for me. It is crowded at lunch time(you will be almost sitting on other patron’s laps) and for deli fare it takes forever. I recommend giving it a miss.

GREAT little spot full of delicious and yummy things. The salads and sandwiches I have had so far have been very good. So many little treats and goodies to take home with you to enjoy later as well. One star for the tight seating and order pick up process. It can be hard to hear your number when it’s busy as they don’t yell very loudly. This spot has defiantly been worked into the rotation. Look forward to trying even more things. Bonus — each meal has a different treat on it when served. Today it was a peanut butter crème filled puff that was wonderful!

I’m not a fan of writing poor reviews — I like to see the positives over the negatives in my dining experience. However, the actual eating of the food is about the only decent thing about this place — hence, the one star(not that I could give a zero star review anyway). Oh, and I am a benefit-of-the-doubt kind of person: second time here, worse experience than before. If you’re considering looking at the online menu before you decide to seal your fate to dine here, keep in mind there’s a huge chance it will NOT be offered. So, proceed blindly. The food is good … not much else to say or rave. The food is good … yea, that’s about it. From the ordering to the dining experience, I wasn’t impressed with the service. I mean — don’t get me wrong — I know it’s not waiter service, but would it kill the people taking your order to be slightly(or MORE) personable? Apparently, it would. And, obviously, they could care less that you want to spend your money here(aka give them more business so they can STAY in business). Oh wait, there was a time when customer service didn’t lack — when we left the building. All smiles topped with a friendly«bye!» Will I decide to forget my second experience here and«third time’s the charm» it? Unless it’s the only restaurant open in the Creve Coeur area, most likely not. Oh well.

I hate to give a poor review… But. Came in for a snack before a movie. Ordered the gyro that the menu said comes with a salad but it came with cheap chips. Also missed the feta and olives. Used cheap premade cooked lamb slices preheated in a toaster oven. Come on guys, if you charge $ 9 for a salad and an «authentic gyro» please use real lamb, cheese, ect. I would pay $ 13 for a good gyro. Our favorite food truck does $ 6 gyros that are huge with all the real fixings. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and they were covered in old lady red lipstick. Is it so hard to check before you pour a glass? Staff knew nothing about the wine either. I asked for a dry red, she read me the brand names. Sorry, not a cheap wine snob, just know the general variety I like. Meal for 2, $ 27? Not worth it. Clean the place up. Make food out of real ingredients, not restaurant depot frozen boxes. Maybe management shouldn’t leave these untrained workers to give it a bad rep.

In the vicinity, I went for lunch. Got the Gyro with Mediterranean Salad($ 9). Unbeknownst to me, it also came with a roll and a dessert. It’s an awkward and crowded area for ordering and picking up. Just work with it. I ditched the roll, dessert and pita, and just made a nice gyro salad with great meat. I missed loads of feta and no Kalamata olives.

If there was some kind of award for the best lunch combo, this place would win it. They have a huge menu and the Pick 2 lets you choose any half sandwich, any salad or soup. But… BUT…it gets better! Your Pick 2 comes on a fairly large plate with one of their fantastic rolls and a truffle. Cha ching! Now tell me… who of anyone gives you a little dessert with your lunch combo? Aside from the Pick 2 awesomeness, Pastries of Denmark knocks it out of the park with their breads and desserts. We’re talking tons of bread choices for your sandwiches(and loaves you can take home), plus cupcakes the size of your head. Check it out!
