The chicken flautas are what dreams are made of, along with the chips and guac. Everything I’ve tried here is delicious. The service is always great as well. Can’t go wrong here.

Super yum! Cheap street tacos with inventive fillings like mushrooms, Mexican cheese, onions and peppers. Homemade salsa. Some of the best margaritas with cactus juice. Noisy and not always tidy, go here but don’t linger unless you can sit outside and watch the world go by. Then plan to stay allllll afternoon.

I lived in San Francisco for 4 years before moving to St. Louis and I enjoy this restaurant because it reminds me a little bit of the Bay Area. It’s kind of like Tacolicious in SF except the tacos here are around $ 3 per taco instead of the $ 5 per taco that they are in San Francisco which is definitely one of the better things about living in St. Louis. I also enjoy their chips and salsa, street corn, and burritos. All fresh and tasty with good flavors.

Food is sooooo good!!! Went for happy hour so got two dollar tacos. And they’re all super good, loved the grilled chicken the best. The chili crusted fries were super delicious too! I didn’t get a drink but my boyfriend got some zombie drink and said it was the best drink ever! Friendly service

A great taco joint and great margaritas! We dined here on a beautiful 75 degree day, and while we couldn’t get a outdoor seat, we were seated fairly quickly. Thankfully they have a seating app/text so you can stand outside. My husband had a burrito and I had the grilled fish taco(I believe mahi mahi), grilled chicken taco, and the roasted duck. They were all flavorful and delicious. Only downfalls were no toilet paper in the stalls and the outdoor seating.

Just ate here with my love, it was extremely packed, a bit of a wait but if your wanting something fast try to get a seat at the bar because on busy nights the tables are harder to get. The service at the bar was slow(no lie). It was hard to know who our waiter was because no one came to introduce themselves, eventually my boyfriend said who our waiter was. But in the end the food was EXTREMELYDELICIOUS! I had the Roasted Duck tacos. The Duck was perfect, I encourage every one to try if u love meat!

The mission is simply wonderful! The street corn is a MUST and the chicken burrito is just as good. I subtract the beans and get corn stuffed inside instead. The staff is great but make sure you get there early during lunch or dinner!

Mission Taco is a super hot taco joint on the loop that perfectly satisfies cravings every time. Although you may need to wait for a seat during peak dinner-time hours, Mission has a great bar stocked with Tequila galore to tide you over, as well as a convenient take-out window next to the restaurant. I’ve had far too many late-nights chowing down on their perfectly salted house corn tortilla chips and daily salsas, but never too many to keep me from going back to Mission Taco for more. My Hotlist: — Carne asada fries: You’re doing it wrong if you don’t get this. Perfectly crisp, zesty house-made French fries smothered with bubbling melted cheese, salsa, guacamole, and tender slices of carne asada. My only problem is that they disappear too quickly. You can’t go wrong with these fries! — Street corn: Shucked sweet corn off the cob melds with zesty cheese harmoniously. You gotta get this side. — Fried fish taco: Out of all the tacos that I have tried here(and I’ve tried most), this is by far my favorite. A satisfying classic. — Chicken flautas: Great to share or scarf down by yourself. Can’t go wrong with these crispy bites. Mission Taco Joint is an awesome spot to grab margaritas with friends and will satisfy that ever-present Mexican craving.

The good about this place: great selection of local beers, great variety of tacos, very fresh ingredients. Lunch was a good time and with a few people sharing bites you can try a bunch of tasty variations on traditional tacos. The bad: I can’t justify spending almost $ 60 at a taco place for two people. It wasn’t a case of drinking a few too many brews or getting out of hand trying a ton of things either, it was a normal dinner. We did get an appetizer, chorizo cheese dip. It was kinda clumpy and lukewarm when we got it. Overall, the food and service at this place were solid, so it earns its rating, but there were a few areas it just fell a little short in. Would recommend trying it though.

It’s a popular place! We had to wait 45 mins — 1 hour just to get a seat so if you go on a weekend night I recommend going early and putting your name down then getting ready /walk around and come when they text you your table is ready. Tacos are $ 2 after 10 which is a good deal you can try a variety of tacos and a drink for roughly $ 10 and it will definitely fill you up! If you get a drink I recommend their fruit water, I didn’t get a chance to order it but the options seemed delicious! Especially if you put in a spirit with the drink! I tried their taco of the month which is good but for me it was just too spicy although I have a low tolerance for spice, the other ones were Carne Asada(my personal favorite), Brisket Beef, Roasted Duck. All were really good. Overall this place is great to go to for a drink or for a midnight snack, people are friendly and they seem to have a genuine care for you, prices are great and of course the food was good!

These tacos were wonderful. I got take-out in perhaps the most well-fashioned boxes I’ve ever seen. The fried fish tacos were probably the highlight of the show. The grilled fish and duck tacos were very good as well. Guac and chips were standard, and tasted fresh. The carne fries were delicious, but perhaps not the best choice for takeout.

Fish and portobello mushroom tacos are solid. Big fan. The BBQ was okay but a little bland compared to the vast array of BBQ generally in the area. Quiet night(a Monday) but great service.

I’ve actually been to Mission twice, the first visit went poorly but they did the right thing and service was great so I refrained from giving review. This time service was ok. But my water glass went empty for my entire meal. It was finally refilled by the bartender after she delivered the bill. I’ve had the Brah-rito and the taquitos. Both were pretty good. But not great. The steak in the brah-rito was of fair quality and it’s stuffed with French Fries, points for being unique to the area. MISSION goes from being a 4 star place for the food to a 3 star place because they’re far too proud. My burrito with a dollar up charge I wasn’t informed about was over $ 16 out the door with nothing but water on the bill. I even gave a crappy tip because service was meh. I’d have to be desperate to pay that kind of money again to have their hipster tacos. Given that the quality isn’t high enough to justify the price I doubt I’ll be back. It’s a great place to blow some money on curiosity. Give it a shot.

We ordered a dozen of tacos or so. The tacos arrived beautifully arranged on a specially designed metal board, sophisticated and in good taste, displaying complex layering of flavors with spices, citrus and chili. Among the fillings were fried fish in Chipotle Baja sauce, fabulous pork carnitas accompanied by beef brisket or roasted duck, grilled chicken with bbq sauce and onions. Carne Asada came in both tacos and the Carne Asada fries. Inside the restaurant was a bit nightclub-like at night, dim and loud, not a perfect place for food photographing. There is an impressive bar for those looking to settle in. By comparison, wood tables and teak benches outside the restaurant provides more room for friend gathering. The biggest issue is the dimension of the menu. The menu is very simple, containing sections of tacos and tordas to burritos, but short of other varieties such as quesadillas, enchiladas or ceviche plates. I didn’t find dishes containing shrimps in any form either. Churros feature on the dessert part. Overall, 3.5÷5.

I know this my sound weird but I’ve only eaten here for the tacos. And they are delish! Plus, modelo especial is a selling point to me b/c I love me some good mexican beers. Personally, I like to hit the bar area Sunday afternoon’s and grab a fish taco(staple in my Mission Taco experiences) and try something new which there are plenty of selections. That’s probably why they put Taco in the name of this joint. And now that the trolly construction seems to be done in that area, parking and getting around is finally easy again! This would actually be a good spot to bring some co-workers as they can accomodate larger groups in the front. In the mood for a taco? Go.

Best fish taco I’ve ever had. I’ve been here several times and I get the Baja fish taco every time. The only one I haven’t cared for is Mofu Tofu because of the cactus — it’s just got a weird texture for me. The salsas are fantastic. Everything tastes fresh, and not too heavy. Great prices! Bright, fun décor and atmosphere. Great happy hour! Perfect spot for a quick, lite dinner before a show at the Pageant or while doing some shopping in The Loop.

Do you like Portobello mushrooms? Get the Portobello taco. Actually, get 3 of those tasty bastards. You’ll love ‘em. This is easily my 3rd or 4th visit and I’ve enjoyed each one. Friendly table service and the food is mighty tasty. Thought it was cool that me and my buddy wanted to split a margarita so they served it in 2 glasses. Can’t wait to go back.

Mission Taco + Happy Hour + $ 2 Tacos = a damn delicious night. Some tacos definitely have nights when they shine. When the portobello mushroom taco is perfectly balanced or the duck taco achieves spice nirvana, they’re my favorite. And the fried fish is always as good as the others say it is. Even when I finally decided to try the tofu taco, it was good. The chorizo taco is a little spicy for me. The taco of the month is always interesting, but my favorite was definitely their Phở-inspired taco from a couple months ago. Bring it back! I recommend eating close to the table with a fresh napkin nearby because these things are juicy! The chips and salsa are great, but I personally love saving some room for an extra taco or two!

It’s hard to find good Mexican grub in the STL. Came here for a date night on a random Tuesday night and the place was packed! If you’ve got the NoWait app, this would be the time to use it. It’s filled with college students and gets pretty loud, but we didn’t seem to mind. Communal seating may be encouraged… The drinks were okay. Bartenders like to make a big show of their mixing, but my cocktail was a bit heavy on the bitters. The food was also delicious. Definitely going back!

Mexican cheese curds, house made salsa, and street tacos. This place is perfect! Came here yesterday with my family and we all had a variety of the tacos and shared the cheese curds and salsa. We loved all of it! I had the duck and chorizo tacos. The duck taco had a lot of shredded duck and was topped with pork belly carnitas and some avacado Serrano sauce. It was amazing. The pork belly was the perfect complement to the duck! The chorizo is house made and had cilantro lime crema, pineapple salsa, pickled jalapeño and avacado. The flavors were so fantastic together! My family also had the fish, lamb, and carne asada tacos. The carne asada being a favorite of my husband’s. The Mexican cheese curds were so light and fluffy! Not expected at all. Tiny little morsels of lightly fried cheese surrounded by pork belly carnitas in an adobo sauce. Mind blown! Mission taco is the perfect place to hang out with friends and get some great food for cheap!

My friend and I tried Mission Taco for the first time. Had the Carnita Fries, chips and salsa for an appitizer. Love that they sell the tacos individually. You can try different types at one time. Had the duck and fried fish taco. Both very good. The duck had a nice spice to it. We shared the Street Corn as a side it was yummy. Believe me it was enough for 2 to share. Staff was friendly and helpful since neither of us had been there before. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The environment is great and the tacos are amazing. However the service is not so good. The servers are a little inept, invasive, and make situations very uncomfortable. This would’ve been fine really, but a good deal of the awkwardness came from her skepticism regarding whether or not I was presenting a valid ID to buy a drink. I’m almost certain that I was served a virgin drink for $ 8 in spite of ordering a cocktail.

Although my husband and I are regulars at the Delmar location, we have also been to the Soulard restaurant as well. Food is consistently tasty and I particularly enjoy the South Beach burrito and their flautas. My hubby really likes their tacos(especially the chorizo). The guacamole is very good as is the street corn and refried black beans. My daughter had a disappointing chicken quesadilla once — it lacked flavor and was very dry but, as it is an anomaly, we wouldn’t let that keep us from returning. Service has always been friendly and reliable, however, we were dismayed tonight when some of our family members coincidentally and unexpectedly walked in after we were seated and had already ordered; we invited them to join our table and a short time later, as we requested our bill, we were informed that they won’t split checks. We were originally three people at a six top who had two additional people sit with us last minute with separate orders staggered from ours. The fact that Mission Taco can’t accommodate a split check because«every table is one» was off putting. That aside, if you haven’t been, I highly recommend it — — just be prepared for a combined check among a group.

Mission taco joint has the best tacos I have ever had in st.louis. I enjoy the place, it is divided into a main area with high table tops and a bar and then an auxiliary seating area with seating of the more standard height. They also have ample outdoor seating in case you need some sunlight to accompany your tacos. They have great, quality beers on tap. I’m very glad that they are not one of those places that has a selection ranging from bud, bud light, miller, miller lite, and sometimes coors. You need quality beer to go with quality food. One issue I have with this place is their pricing. In my opinion the chips and salsa and chips and guacamole are just ridiculously over priced and the one time I ordered them I felt like an idiot for throwing my money away. The tacos are all beautiful little masterpieces. They may all be visually very alluring but are not all equal in their flavor game. They are all good, but the truly fantastic ones in my opinion are the fried fish, and portobello. The fish in the fish tacos are always had the right amount of crisp to them and are very flavorful and well battered. I am unsure what is in the sauce on this but it tastes to me like the salsa of tartar sauces and it is so good together with the fried fish. The portobello is not only really good for something that is meatless, but stronger than a lot of their other tacos that do contain delicious animal flesh. This is astounding for someone like me who has never once visited a vegetarian place because I find them pointless. Service 7⁄10 Atmosphere 7.5÷10 Tacos 9.5÷10 Would return? How dare you even consider the possibility of not returning!

Please note that I’m not usually a fan of Mexican food and have no idea what makes for«authentic» Mexican food. Frankly, I don’t care. All I know is that I loved the food at Mission Taco. I’m pretty sure they’re not«authentic» Mexican. They seem a bit more modern in some ways. And they also seem to just do their own thing! My husband and I had a blast at this place last night with some friends that were visiting from out of town! It was around 6p on a Tuesday night in June, so we had a 20 minute wait. But they text you when your table is ready, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather and just walked from shop to shop. We were finally seated at one of their large blue picnic tables outside. The only down side to the outdoor experience were the bugs. There seemed to be a lot of gnats around… We started by ordering chips with salsa and guac. I knew going in that they charge for chips, but based on the way the waitress suggested/offered them, you wouldn’t have known. The light, bright yellow color of the chips looked so fresh and beautiful! The guac was on point — chunks of avocado with fresh tomato, onion and jalapeño on top. My husband and friends all ordered a selection of tacos and I think everyone agreed that the duck taco was their favorite(with the fish taco coming in a close second). So when they ordered a second round, I had to give one a try! They first thing I noticed was the amazing amount of sweet and salty corn flavor that came from the tortilla! And the texture was so soft, you could tell they were freshly made! As for the duck, it was completely shredded and tender. I’d never had duck before — I’m glad to know I like it! I was the only one to order something a little different — I went with the Carne Asada Fries and I’m SOGLAD I DID!!! I can’t wait to go back and order these again! The fries are seasoned with chili powder and fried to crispy perfection! I would eat these things all by themselves! But why do that when I can get them covered in real cheese(not that awful nacho cheese sauce), guac, sour cream and meat! The serving size is pretty large, so keep that in mind when you order! To finish off our meal we ordered the churros, which are served with a bowl of melted chocolate. I’ve only tried churros once, back when I lived in New York. So I was imagining the the perfectly shaped, skinny and light tan churros that I had there. But these churros are kinda funny due to their irregular shape — skinny in some parts and fat in others. And they were a much darker shade of tan or even brown. The outside of the churro was very crispy, but the inside was still slightly moist and had a consistency similar to pancakes or funnel cakes. Dipping these fried delights into warm chocolate took them to the next level! And I was pleased that even once the churros were gone there was still plenty of chocolate for us to eat by the spoonful! My husband and I will definitely be returning again soon. We’ll probably try to sit indoors next time, but we’ll most likely order the same awesome dishes!

I was starving and was trying to find a decent place for dinner, mission taco joint popped up on my trusty Unilocal app. Since we were there so late at night they had a taco happy hour so only $ 2 for tacos. We ordered the fried cheese curd appetizer, 4 tacos(beef, duck, pork, and steak) I also ordered a veggie torta that came with fries. We chose to sit outside because there were many people drinking inside and it was way too loud. The cheese curds came out in about 15 minutes, they were deliciously chewy and cheesey. The veggie torta came with huge chunks of portobello mushrooms and had a great sauce on it. It was really filling and I was only able to eat half of it. My friends tacos were all delicious but I especially enjoyed the duck taco. The duck meat was Soo tender and flavorful. I will definitely come here again next time I am in town. I really want to try the test of their tacos !!

Mission Taco Joint, you da real MVP. We went here for a team dinner and it was packed on a Tuesday night, which is always a good sign. We hung out at the nifty little side bar and had some drinks and snacks and my appetite grew just hanging out in this room. Our crew started with the flautas and the cheese fries. These were good, although each were very heavy before tacos and I didn’t do the best pacing job I’ve ever done, filling up before the tacos made their appearance. For dinner, I had a carne asada taco, a grilled fish taco, and a pork taco. Carne asada was the definite winner, I could roll with three of those and be happy. Very well flavored, simple and well cooked. Based on all the food I’ve rattled off, this should come as no surprise: You will be full after eating here. If you’re like me, you will be full for another day or so. They definitely take care of you here, and next time I’m staying nearby I’m definitely penciling this in.
