The pizza here is amazing! Found it by way of GrubHub and have been in love ever since. Being a new Claytonite, I’m ecstatic to find such a quality pizza place that has yet to disappoint! I’ve ordered the New York pizza several times with different toppings and every time it’s delivered in perfect manner, still hot, no bubbles, perfect ratio of and cheese & toppings. The crust is simply amazing and I love that they are constantly delivering the same quality of pizza, time & time again. They’ve earned a customer for life!

One of the best hidden jems in ST Louis. We come here every trip for the great food and outstanding service. You can eat outside which is always a treat and its located in a great neighborhood. The desserts are authentic and u live their ny cheese cake. So worth coming to and if you live pizza. This is the place.

This may be more personal preference, as I thought the crust was too thin/​crispy. Cheese wasn’t very good, either. Service was prompt, but the pizza was just meh. Salad was OK, but nothing spectacular.
Fine if you’re in a pinch, but ya can find better nearby.

I have eaten here a couple of times now and really like it. Its a nice less expensive option out side of downtown clayton by a couple blocks. Well worth a stop. It is a bit small inside and the lighting isn’t the best, but if you want a good cheap pizza lunch give it a try.

The pizza is above average but the service is exceptional. It’s always a pleasure to eat at this small pizza place. The pizza is top notch although the salads aren’t quite up to standard. Definitely value for money.

Nice evening so I sat & enjoyed the sidewalk café seating.
Salad– Salad was surprisingly large better than standard Italian side salad (Italian dressing on lettuce, red onions, diced red peppers & cheese)
Pizza– The slice of pizza was just OK. They mostly bake a pizza with little cheese & then slice it. You pick a topping, they add it to a slice plus more cheese & then they bake it to melt the cheese. The ending result is OK, but not great. HOWEVER– $ 5.95 (you can order your own fresh pizza)
Service– order at the counter, self serve beverages, they bring the food out for you & bus the table (all done with a nice smile)
Bonus– the beautiful women passing by

I have been to Manhattan Express about 4 times now. Each time I have a wonderful experience with the staff and the food! They have a super wheat crust to their pizza!
I have had the veggie pizza three of the times here. One of my favorite veggie pizzas! Just enough balance of veggies and cheese, not too topping heavy.
I really enjoy sitting outside on their patio! After ordering at the counter, they will bring your salad/​pizza to you outside. And this last visit they even came out and put up our umbrellas when they noticed it started sprinkling. Very nice.
The inside is small and holds about 4 tables. Cute and cozy and very «pizzeria» looking!
This place has become a «regular» spot on our think list of places to go.

Excellent pizza, sandwiches, and salad! My husband and I love to come here for a good meal at a reasonable price. The people are really friendly and make us feel at home. Best items are seasoned beef (I add onions and green peppers) and house salad. Yum!!! My husband loves the whole wheat pizza with peppercini, spinach, and sausage.

If you like to support the small business, non chain restaurants like I do, then this is the place for you. Best seasoned beef sandwich in St. Louis! If you’d rather try a slice, or a whole pie, this is the place to go. Great for dining on the patio, delivery, or even catered lunches. I’ve had them make boxed sandwich lunches for meetings in the past and I have never been disappointed.
As for the previous poster that complained that they didn’t offer you a drink, something tells me that even if they had, your glass would have still been half empty. Suck it up, quit complaining, and ask for a cup next time.

I’ve had food from here twice, the first time was great, last time was awful. We ordered a margherita pizza the first time and it was delicious! The next pizza we ordered was a basic pepperoni, mushroom, olive and we at one slice and threw the rest out. We tried their apple pie dessert too — which was flavorless. They only get 3 stars for their margherita pizza.

After a fro-​yo appetizer, a little substance was needed. I grabbed a Spinach salad topped with feta, onions, mushrooms, croutons, bacon, hard cooked egg and a bacon vinaigrette dressing.
It’s a loaded salad, they don’t skimp on the salad toppings here. Which made it a much more filling salad than most with way more flavor than just spinach leaves. It’s a fairly large portion size too and at a reasonable price of about $ 10 with a big ol’ fountain drink.

This place is great for outside casual dining. Order a lunch special and enjoy your lunch outside on one of their patio tables. Lots of people walking by so if you’re by yourself, you can people watch. Or just bring a book.
Lunch prices are reasonable enough. They’ve actually increased the size of their salad which they did not need to do but always welcome.

Manhattan Express is a great place to go for a nice lunch. There they have pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Their pizza is great and always a nice standard food to get when you do not really know what to get. If you are feeling something other than a nice traditional New York style pizza, then you can always get one of their wonderful meatball sandwiches. Those are what I would call yummy on a bun.
Manhattan Express also delivers which was always nice when I was in school. For them to deliver there is a ten-​dollar minimum and they only take cash, so keep that in mind.
Manhattan Express is great and I highly recommend it.
