It’s dead at 1:30 on a Saturday night. Am I missing something? Like the game options, always down for a game of beer pong. These billy buckets seem legit, we’ll see I guess. Could use a little diversity in the music though.

Oh the Lannex. I wouldn’t bring my parents, and definitely not my children. or anyone susceptible to any diseases… but I will say that if you’re lookin to dance THISISYOURPLACE. Total college/club bar with a bunch of kiddos tryin to get down. I love Lannex and I hate that I love it.

The last few nights I’ve been here, it has been deserted… They started charging $ 5 cover, but if bring your student ID, it’s free. It gets busier when it’s closer to 12:30/1. Usually good music, there’s games(pool and bp). The crowd is a little sketchy, expect creepers that stare while you dance. It’s nice when there’s more SLU kids. Didn’t let my friend in even though it was her Id… Haven’t been going there since the summer because it’s not a good scene…

Ick. This place is sinking like Leonardo DiCaprio at the end of the Titanic. fading real fast. The last two times we’ve come here it’s been completely and utterly dead inside – not a soul on the dance floor, super young crowd(definitely under 21). Also, I think I finally met Kate B.‘s bouncer. LOL. Your place is tragic, dude. Drinks here are relatively cheap, but this place is toast. Avoid.

Sooooo much fun. My girlfriend and friends and I went here after drinking at humphrey’s. Dancing was great and we didn’t even get a chance to try the other stuff there. Drink selection was okay, they didn’t have everything but they had some good stuff. I am very happy with the experience.

Closes at 3 but last call is 2:20. Huge bar. Large dance floor that plays a variety of music not just top 40s. On packed nights, it’s hard to get drinks from the bar because the side that faces the dance floor is shutdown. Pool tables and several TVs to watch sports during the day. The music is good and the lounge area is decent, but what is a bar if you can’t get a drink at peak times because only two bartenders are working? It’s fun to go dance at if you are a college studnet or if you are in the area and it’s the closest thing without going over to east side or you have worn yourself out on pepper lounge.

This spot is one of my favorites in St. Louis. I always have a good time. It has the perfect blend of the chill vibe and the lively party type vibe. Pros: The music is pretty good, they have a pretty mixed crowd, great location(it’s right by SLU and not to far from home), drinks are great(Billy Blue Buckets, Whiskey Sour, Amaretto Sour, Long Island…), great prices and they event have a great late night happy hour on Friday and Saturday from 9−11pm. Cons: Bartenders tend to work one end of the bar. No real negatives about this place.

Went to school in STL and this place is hands down my favorite place to go out. Two bars, bp, billards, darts, a dance floor, an an okay DJ. Almost every weekend I threw on jeans, a random shirt and shoes and headed over to this place. Gotta love no cover. This place is always poppin after 12. The DJ plays a variety of music and there’s a good mix of college students and people in their mid-20s. Leave your jacket at home though because theft is a problem! My friends and I have had jackets stolen here. If you’re down for a chill night with some dancing on the side, this is the place to be. No need to get glommed out. Just come out and be prepared to down a Billy Bucket — a crap ton of alcohol and red bull.

This place is just ok. I’ve been twice and both times failed to impress me enough to keep me going back on a regular basis. Thursday night is definitely college night with dollar drinks, but since I don’t go to SLU I felt very out of place. It’s a weird mix of local bar and club. At a certain point in the night the back room turns into a drunken dance club of college kids while the other side with pool tables remains much calmer. I wouldn’t recommend going unless you go to SLU or any of the surrounding colleges.

Billy Bucket. Cheap drinks served in plastic disposable cups. Shuffleboards. Pumping bass. Shady guys and drunk girls. The pinnacle of a college bar. Many a time we have ended up at Library Annex instead of making it all the way to Wash Ave for a night out. No one’s ever complained, and we’ve always had a good time. I’m not sure if it’s the Billy Bucket or the fact that everyone knows it’s going to be a dirty, tasteless night when we get there — but Library Annex never fails to deliver. You have your textbook stereotypes there, but hey — you shouldn’t take this place too seriously. You’re here to have a good time, so do it. Don’t worry about the creepy guys in Christmas sweaters practicing their pickup skills — just dance and get lost in the music. Love the fact that food trucks park outside the place on the weekends, so we don’t even have to drive all the way to steak & shake to satisfy the late night munchies.

The place is cool. The music is generally pretty good and fun to dance to(the DJs can be really rude though). I usually have a fun time when I’m here to dance. The bartenders are slow, and rude. Also, the other night I was there, I only bought one drink… but the next day when I checked my bank account I was charged for 2 drinks. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my receipt so I couldn’t do anything about it… But Beware!

It’s a solid place to come for decent club music with a busy floor(that is if it is after like 12 at night, be prepared if you come earlier to be the only one on the floor… hehe doesn’t bother me — just gives me more room to strut my stuff right?). Though I don’t think the dance floor portion technically opens til 11 anyways, but, still there’s no one out there til like after 12. It’s full of college kids mostly from SLU but what do ya expect when it is on the SLU campus?! And ya can’t get away from STLCOP kids here either since every time I go I see several groups of students from my school(though it is only a few minutes away from campus). It is definitely a go to place for dancing if I can’t think of another place to go. The non dance side has some nice tables and a bar with a ton of tvs to watch sports on and some pool tables if dancin is not your thing. Ps. Don’t forget to try the Billy Bucket. haha. lots of sweet blue liquid and a ton of straws Pss. If you check in on Unilocal MYPHOTO with some friends comes up! :) haha.

The crowd is quite diverse, they play top 40 dance hits, I’ve only gone there when I’m really drunk to dance. Watch out for creeps, its one of those places.

I have never gone here for the food I come here for two reasons. To drink and to dance. This place does not have the best floor in the world or the best DJ in the world but I always have a good time here. Now just so you know I am a huge fan of dancing. I find that the best night to come here is Saturday night and don’t bother getting there before 1130PM. I find that the best time to get there is 1145 or so. They have a drink called a Billy Bucket which is pretty good if you like sweet drinks. I like the fact that you can share it with 5 people.

Pinning a quantifiable number of star on the Annex is a tricky proposition because the experience per visit can fluctuate so wildly. Time of day, day of week, and staff on duty can have a huge impact on whether you have an enjoyable evening with fellow merrymakers, or whether you just pay high prices for weak drinks and play the part of human pinball in the middle of an unruly drunken mob. However, if you’re looking for a college bar experience, the Annex(as I call it to avoid confusion with SLU’s bona fide libraries) shouldn’t be missed. Crowds, dance floor, loud music, pool, beer pong, darts, and foosball are all available to help you pass the time. I mentioned expensive drinks above, which can be true, but the Annex has a variety of specials you should aim for if you’re planning on «studying» there. Bottom line: I’m often looking for an alternative to Humphreys and the Annex can often fill that role nicely.

I could have sworn I’d already written a review for this place, but it looks like it «disappeared»…HMMM? Anyone else notice how all of the filtered reviews aren’t 4 or 5 star? HMM. Anyway. The bouncers ruined my experience. They were very rude, especially the bald guy. I don’t think it’s very professional to ask two girls leaving the bar«early» if they plan on having homosexual relations with each other just because they’re leaving the place«early.» And by «early» I mean like 11:30PM. Sorry your bar is just that crappy? I am willing to come back to try the food, and hopefully I won’t get an undercooked hamburger like another reviewer on here. But like I said, willing to give the place a second chance. If the bouncers decide to shout rude things, I’ll just ignore them this time instead of satisfying them with a response. Seriously? What the hell is wrong with people? Do you WANT customers to come back to your establishment? If so, it would be best not to INSULT them! All that aside… the interior is pretty cool, though. I love the books and the hardwood. Almost sort of a gothic feel. Like the fact that there is a lot of space for dancing, pool, darts, etc. Suppose the beer selection could be better but I guess you go more for the dancing or w/e. Better beer can be had at Six Row, beer fans.

Our server made us feel at home immediately. The décor, with its dark wood panelling, impressed us. We could see the multitude of screens about the bar. They recommended the pretzel burger, but we went with pizza. Definitely made in house with a generous amount of cheese, but not above average. The beer selection was surprizingly small. So, I would recommend this as a place to savor the décor and appreciate that there is another pub in Midtown.

I was skeptical of this place but was pleasantly surprised. I went to a law school happy hour fundraiser for Haiti, so I can’t comment on the normal atmosphere or drink prices. I liked the décor. I was not expecting the beer pong tables, but the games and sports combination is pretty well done. I give it only 3 stars because of the bar tenders. Maybe it is because the place is still new, but they were operating at a slow pace with a crowded bar. The only reason we left as early as we did was because we couldn’t get another drink. It has potential. If they get a more expirienced bar tender, then I could see myself going back.

This is a great addition to the mid-town bar scene. It’s definitely an ode to frat-daddy culture with classy Natty-light on tap and beer pong tables in the back. I was surprised they didn’t have buckets of everclear and kool-aid(panty droppers anyone?) on the drink list. Although I’ll always be partial to Humph’s, as the SLU law hub, it’s nice to have another place to go within walking distance of campus.

With a vibe straight out of Dead Poets Society, the Library Annex looks like the child of an Ivy League college library and a frat house. Hundreds of hard copy books line bookshelves that are crafted in every conceivable nook and cranny not filled by a flat screen TV or a shuffle board table. The establishment’s GM said he wanted students to utilize the bar as a space to study/eat/hangout during the day, and a place to let off some steam at night. Dozens of booths are equipped with power outlets for laptops, while the building has free Wi-Fi. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the bar occupies the ground floor of the newly redone building. Upstairs, McGowan Brothers Development converted to 48 loft apartments from a structure that had housed a custom screen printing business. Tim McGowan said today all but five of the apartments are rented and occupied by SLU students. At 8,000 square feet, the space is huge, but on Sunday afternoon, the back area of the bar, where there is a dance floor and stage for a DJ, was closed. The food was affordable, with entrees at $ 8 or so, and pizzas were in the low-to-mid teens. I had a cod sandwhich, which was pretty good. Another bonus, the bar serves waffle fries. The on-tap beer selection was quite poor, with«Natty Light,» on draft. I didn’t check out their bottle selection. I would have prefered to have PBR as the economy beer. The food seems to be the normal pub fare, including the aforementioned pizzas, but the real draw with the Library Annex is its ambiance and location near the SLU campus. Parking may be a problem during busy weekend nights, but there is a nearby parking deck on Leclede that costs $ 1.50 an hour(estimate). Ultimately, the Library Annex may be a better option than Humphries for those looking for a moderately priced lunch near campus, or a place to watch the NFL Sunday Ticket. I’ll have to update this review after I check out its nightlife. I don’t know about drink specials either.
