After graduating from WashU, I still occasionally swing by Kayak’s even though it’s out of the way. The people working at Kayak’s are incredibly friendly and chill. It’s a great place to study, read a book, or catch up with friends. The food here is not too shabby either. I really like their breakfast items(love the French toast) and the White flatbread pizza. Their sandwiches and wraps are alright, but I would prefer to order them from other places. I’m not sure if they offer this year-round, but I like to come here during the winter months and order the do-it-yourself s’mores. They give you a bunch of marshmallows, a Hershey’s chocolate bar, graham crackers, skewers, and an ethanol gel can. It’s really fun and you get to enjoy delicious s’mores in a cozy coffee shop.

Kayak’s is a wonderful coffee shop conveniently located near WashU. It’s a very cozy store with a ski lodge theme. The drinks and food are delicious! I highly recommend the breakfast burrito. They also have very reasonable prices.

This place is A-Okay with me! The coffee is great, the bakery has something for everyone, and the service is friendly and awesome! Give Kayak’s a try if you’re in the area! Parking is in the back!

Vegetarians : Unfortunately the breakfast sandwich has eggs and bacon, so I just got an everything bagel. The herb cream cheese that comes with the sandwich is so good so ask for that, not the plain one. Toast the bagel if you wish at the condiments area. Try the tea!!! It’s so good and the way it is served is very pretty as well. We got one that had hibiscus and it was fragrant and floral

First trip to St. Louis and this coffee is hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. The Turkish latte is a seasonal blend, but it is a must have. The service was impeccable as well, down to the heart in the steamed milk of the latte.

Love Kayak’s! Especially for breakfast. I’ve been here a few times in the morning and I have tried a few of their different breakfast items — the crustless quiche is my fave! I will say, it does get pretty packed here in the mornings. they have a side back room for additional seating and if it’s nice out you can sit outside, but sometimes it has been tough to find a table. I also enjoy their brewed coffees. They usually have a different coffee/country of origin coffee each time I’ve been here and it’s been nice to try some different brews.

2 — for coffee/4– for the atmosphere. Location is great and close to the metro. You can pay for parking via coins. Service is friendly. We had a latte and a hot chocolate. I don’t recommend neither!

My family has been coming here for years. I love the log cabin/Pacific Northwest atmosphere with the wooden, yet cushioned, seats! Lots of seating; much more spacious than Kaldis. Ive always found parking in the metered lot on the side but the Skinker metro station is also right outside. if I went to Wash U I’d be here all the time. I like the coffee drinks and scones. The food is a bit expensive although I’ve never had a reason to try it. All in all, it’s no more expensive than Bread Co.

So I frequent this place, probably too much for personal health. But this place has pretty good service in the mornings, getting people in and out and on to work. I know it can sometimes fill up with students based upon testing schedule, but even then it isn’t too hard to find a place to sit and read and enjoy some of their food or pastries.

My favorite coffee shop due to the atmosphere. Makes me wanna do work with all the students around. Outlets under the window tables. Awesome dirty chai and hot tea which they will resteep for you. Sandwhich was good quality as well. I may be picky, but coffee made with local milk will taste so amazing if you can get it. I’ve been to another coffee shop who did that and you can taste the difference. Just a suggestion.

I love Kayak’s. The food is delicious(get the Cortina sandwich!) and the coffee is even better(normally I dislike flavored lattes, but the Maple Pumpkin or Rosemary really melt in your mouth). It’s not quite 5 stars because I feel like the food and coffee are unnecessarily expensive. It’s good and delicious, yes, but for small sandwiches(particularly close to WashU and all the students) it’s a little too pricey. Also, good luck finding parking. You have to get really lucky. I recommend walking there if you live at least a little close by.

BEWARE: no outlets(or very few?)! Came here with a friend to do some work. It’s spacious, with good food and great coffee, but bring your laptop charged or plan for a short workday. The Mediterranean Salad was large and delicious. Helps that they serve Kaldi’s Coffee too.

We walk to Kayaks every morning with our puppy and love the friendly service and excellent food. We usually get yogurt parfaits and split a breakfast sandwich(the Sicilian is our favorite). I’m not a big coffee drinker but I love their hand brewed tea service and, when it’s in season, I am obsessed with the Matcha Mint Lemonade. The servers always come out and pet our puppy and bring her water – so sweet! Also great for lunch and snacks: I love the hummus! I haven’t had a single bad meal here.

I have been to Kayak’s twice in the past month, once for a quick meal at 6 pm, and once for a pastry at 8 pm. Neither time was it crowded and both times I was able to find parking behind the shop in the lot.(Be sure to have change to feed the meter.) My friend was not so lucky, she had to park a block away. I ordered a Veggie Flatbread Pizza which was fantastic. Great flavors. Portabellas, artichokes, basil pesto, kalamata olives, red pepper and mozzarella cheese. It was served nice and hot, crispy edges on the crust. When I stopped in for a pastry, I got a cinnamon sugar roll. Yum yum. A very light roll with sugar in the layers of the roll and sprinkled on top. Not sickening sweet, just right! The selection of pastries was great, I saw several items I’ll try in the future. I gave it 4 stars because of the parking situation. I am definitely returning.

Great study space. Usually crowded, for a reason. The service is great — the baristas are super friendly and willing to suggest you their favorite picks. I was suggested a Banff and the Zurich(both are sandwiches) and they’re GREAT, but for some reason getting a meal at Kayak’s always makes me feel gassy afterwards… I highly recommend ordering their cappuccinos. Was pleasantly surprised by their additions of chocolate coffee beans and sparkling water on the side. Plus, their gooey butter cakes are on point!!! Ugh I have to stop myself from grabbing another one tonight.

I have been here several times before for breakfast on the weekends. I needed a good place to study and thought of Kayak’s because it is a college hangout and everyone is always studying. I figured I could grab a quick dinner as well. I ordered an iced green tea and a cheese pizza. The tea was just fine but the pizza was awful. It was the equivalent of a cheap frozen pizza. It’s tough for pizza to be bad because it’s my favorite thing. Good place to study but next time I will eat somewhere else.

I am writing in pure frustration because this is one of my favorite local businesses; yet they’ve for some odd reason been reported as MOVED! This is an error; a huge error. No, I take that back. It’s a lie. Yayaks is a large café located across from Wash. U at the corner of Skinker & Forest Park. They offer free Wi-Fi, plenty of spacious seating at their amazing heavy wooden tabletops including bar style window seating and patio tables as well. The food is superb! –Salads –Wraps –Flatbread pizza –Quiche –Steel Cut Oats(best in the city) –Scones(regular & mini) –Bagels –Sandwiches(lunch & breakfast) –Quesadillas The coffee is world class –Americano –Cappuccino –Latte –Chai’s –Hot & cold fresh brewed teas –Nicaragua, Colombia… whatever the region your looking for The customer service is top notch –Friendly –Personable –Aim to please –Efficient –Always done with a smile –Greeted with a hello & welcomed back This is my go-to spot; I’m in love with this place; they know they can’t get rid of me lol. No way I could allow them to be MOVED!

I’m torn on this review because the layout is gorgeous and the food beautiful and pretty tasty but the service felt a bit conceited and its definatly a college coffee house. I dig coffee houses tremendously, but this one wasn’t warm and welcoming even though the décor expresses that vibe. When the staff is subtly pretentious it comes across and lessens the experience. How hard is it to smile and ask how you are doing? But maybe they were having an off day? Who knows? So if I focus on just the coffee and food well the coffee is really great, but Comet coffee is better. The two sandwiches we got were tasty but I wouldn’t say they were amazing. It’s funny to see all these college kids plugged into their electronics sipping java and clueless as to anyone else near them! I saw one couple talking but the rest were just staring at screens. On a different subject, black toilets and sinks in the bathroom look gross unless they are cleaned all the time. But the décor in the dinning area is well designed. I wouldn’t give up on Kayak’s just yet but first impressions do mean a lot. Tip: There is a parking lot just around the corner behind the building but make sure you’ve got some quarters for the meter, and there is a one hour time limit on them.

This is one of my favorite study spots, but warning, several other wash u students agree and therefore it’s sometimes hard to claim space. The baked goods have always been delicious, with the zucchini bread being one of my favorites. I’ve had several sandwiches and the hummus plate and a few pizzas. Always satisfactory and fresh.
