Great food and pizza. A little loud on the weekends. The pesto stuffed toasted ravioli is on point. Only downfall is the price

I have been coming to Katie’s for about 6 months now, and it’s one of my favorite pizza places ever. I’ve tried a multitude of different ones. The kale is really good. The spicy veggie is good. I loved the artichoke heart pizza(minus the prosciutto for me), but the spicy artichoke pizza felt like it was really missing something. But the grilled shrimp pizza is by far the most amazing pizza ever. If I had to suggest one pizza to try first, it would be that one. I was unsure about shrimp on pizza, but it totally works. Their caprese salad is done very well. They always have good tomatoes. The fried artichoke salad is ok, but I wasn’t as impressed as others. Mostly because I don’t like things fried in my salad. And then there’s vegetarian toasted raviolis, which has made my heart so happy. They’re SO good!!! The service is always prompt and friendly. I’ve come here with BF, with BF and our kids, and just to get to-go orders. For all situations, I’ve had great experiences.

After first bad and overcooked pizza, waiter considered the complaint and got a properly cooked pizza taking the other one off the bill. Replaced Egg pizza was really good. Ravioli were nice…

Had lunch here today. Two salads, one app, one iced tea=$ 65 w/tip! Prices seem to have risen dramatically since last were here. $ 19 salads? $ 2313″ pizzas? Really?! Food is fantastic but interior is thrift store chic and nothing justifying these prices. Could have dined at Niche for these prices. Very disappointing. Won’t be back anytime soon…

Great food, like the one on Manchester in Rock Hill. A little louder than we prefer and crowded. Why cram so many tables in? — it’s like running the gauntlet just to exit the restaurant. Will definitely return for the food, but will try to avoid the peak meal times.

Vegetarians: this place is great for vegetarians. They have lots of options that are marked with a V on a menu. I came here to try the toasted ravioli because i heard they had a vegetarian option! It was very good and served with delicious pesto. It was a bit expensive given that it’s an appetizer($ 11) but everything’s a bit pricey here! The service was amazing we had a great server! I also love the décor in here it’s cute and eclectic. Overall great vibes and great place! Would love to come back another time to try the pizza and other menu items.

Used to love the food here. Not so much anymore. Stopped in tonight for a salad. Chicken was grizzly. Salad had little else but arugula, which I love, but I have a box in the fridge I could have eaten. I was looking for something a little more interesting. Dressing which usually is fabulous was bland and the service was disinterested-even though it was quite slow. I may try the place on Manchester but will not likely be back here for awhile,

I had heard about Katie’s through friends and also periodic tv interviews that highlighted the pizza offerings and the unique pairings. It is a small well designed restaurant with a very Silver lake(Los Angeles) vibe. The décor is a mix of old and new with some very modern light fixtures mixed with some not so modern tables, all drawn together nicely. One con is the parking situation, as there is not much besides the few spots along the street and can be difficult to get to in high traffic areas. The staff was exceptionally nice from the moment we walked in and even brought over a large ball of pizza dough for our son to play with, although he chose to eat it instead — which is totally safe the waitress informed us since it was dairy free. The pizza offerings were almost overwhelming, but we were told we could do half and half which aided in the decision to try 4 different pizzas: Margherita — the cherry tomatoes spilt in half and cooked on the mozzarella were juicy and added a nice burst. The crust was crispy and well cooked, the flavor still lacked a little more 3.75÷5 Prosciutto and Apple — this was a surprise pick, but my favorite of all. The mix of sweet and salty with the warm cheese was mouth-watering, it was a perfect pairing. It was a great ratio of meat and apple with every bite as good as the last. This is an excellent pizza. 5⁄5 Spicy Coppa — this was an easy pick because I love spicy, however it was a little off. The mix of coppa, pepperoncini, and ricotta was almost to heavy. I love a meaty pizza but this felt very heavy on the tounge, it had a great spicy taste but not my favorite. 3⁄5 Quattro Formaggio — this was my 2nd favorite of all the pizza, you really can’t go wrong with more and more cheese. The flavor was perfect and cooked well. 4.25÷5 They have a rather nice wine list and draft beer selection, including Peroni which you don’t often see on draft. This was a great visit and to top it off they offer a 15% off for checking in on Unilocal… awesome sauce. I will definitely be back for more pie.

Fantastic atmosphere, great service, and good food. The whole waitstaff was great and the restaurant makes you feel like you’re in a friend’s living room, I loved it! Their toasted raviolis are out of this world good and their seasonal squash salad was so flavorful and all components were perfectly portioned. Now on to the pizza. This type of pizza isn’t just my personal favorite, as many other people love it and rave about it. The crust was great but the toppings didn’t really seem to pop, everything just ran together and there wasn’t enough of anything. Again, everyone else I know loves it, so it’s just my taste buds I guess. Next time I go, I’ll order extra extra cheese :)

Good pizza. Better salads and apps. Good beer menu featuring the best of local craft brews. The fried artichoke salad is a must. Try adding shrimp to it and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The Bloody Mary bar on the brunch menu is also impressive. Love this location as much as the Manchester spot.

My group had Margarita pizza, Squash Salad, Apple Prosciutto Pizza, Fried eggplant appetizer and I wish I would have taken a picture of it all but we started eating too quickly. Everything was fresh and incredibly delicious. The service was prompt and very friendly. I did manage to get a picture of our dessert — the Ricotta Donuts! YUM!!! I don’t think I can recommend this place enough, we will definitely be back!

I really wanted to like this place given the rave reviews. I like their salads, but for the price, I find their pizzas appalling. Extremely doughy, meat is dry, and overall the flavors are either lacking or don’t mesh together. Extremely overpriced in general. Ambiance is nice and homey, but I prefer Dewey’s for pizza in St. Louis.

This is the worst place ever! We ordered two vegetarian pizzas, spicy veggie and spicy artichoke pizza, a beer and a glass of wine. I am a vegetarian, terribly allergic to eggs and meat. When I took the second bite of the first slice of the spicy veggie pizza, there were slices of salami in it. I instantly got up, rushed to the bathroom, feeling sick, threw up in my napkin and a bit in the hallway and buckets in the bathroom. A waitress walked past,(not ours) and I told her, I am so sorry, I threw up in the hallway. The cleaner came after 15 mnts, while I was still throwing up for the second time. Even the kitchen staff saw me being sick. No sign of our waitress, or the manager. Not one of them had the decency to ask if I was ok, or needed water or any help. Not even when I came back to the table. Two concerned customers checked on me. I came back sick, unable to breathe after choking on my own vomit. The waitress was busy chit chatting with her friend. Then she comes and says sorry casually. I left the restaurant, because I was so upset by the ordeal I went thru and her matter to fact manner of dealing with the situation. My husband was now dealing with the waitress. She brings the check. My husband is shocked to see the bill, she has charged for two pizzas. She says, I can just comp of the beer and wine. But you will have to pay for the pizza. So he pays the bill. Mind you, only half a slice of pizza was eaten by me, and maybe half by my husband. The wine untouched, the beer maybe few sips. My face red and swollen from barfing. Tears down my eyes. Neither of us had dinner, and both of us were just appalled by the service and shocked by meat in our pizzas. Not to mention feeling sick even after coming home. Sure, mistakes happen, but this kitchen staff, waitress, or the absent manger, no body was accountable or gave a damn. What really annoyed me is the lack of common courtesy to at least check on me, and see if I was okay. Never been so pissed off or seen service so unkind. This place doesn’t care or give a damn about their customers. Will never ever eat here again. And nor should you.

The butternut squash salad is truly one of the best salads I have ever had. So so so good. Really regretted sharing it. Also has the arugula pizza and spicy coppa pizza. The salad stole the show for me but the pizza was good too. Didn’t very much like the house Cabernet. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is unexpectedly beautiful. Including the patio which is shocking because it is right on the street. Will be back.

Good pizza, friendly employees, cute décor. Wasn’t cheap, but the food was high-quality. They were playing Wes Anderson’s «The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou» when I went, which I can get on board with.

Katie’s was well on its way to a 4 or 5 star review until the very end. Food was 3 for 4 in spectacular dishes but the service could have been much better. So, from the beginning … My husband and I decided to have a dinner and movie date night. We planned to see a 7pm show at the Esquire and wanted to eat somewhere nearby. Katie’s is in a great location and we were able to walk from our car to the restaurant to the theatre and back to the car. We started with the Cannelini bean dip– DELICIOUS! It is very smooth and well seasoned, served with kalamata olives and a heap of warm pita. It is definitely enough to share between 2 – 4 people. Then we ordered a salad. Originally we ordered the Strawberry Endive salad but they were out of the cherry dressing for it. Sad, but understandable and certainly not the end of the world. So instead we ordered the Tuscan Grilled Shrimp Salad. Very tasty but the bottom leaves are drenched in the oily dressing. Finally, for our main course, we each ordered a single serve pizza(a happy hour special, 8-in pizza for $ 8). I ordered the arugula which was PERFECT in every way. I would order this every time. However, my husband’s choice was the complete opposite. He ordered the Porcini and Portobello(which our server had said was among their more popular pies) and it came out looking like the cheese hadn’t melted properly as if it had been freezer-burnt into shape. Looks can be deceiving so we each took a bite and agreed that the only flavor we got was salty. What really set me off on Katie’s was the service. Through most of our meal, the service was average, as expected, nothing bad nor good to note. But as soon as we were done eating, she was NOWHERE to be found. We sat at our table with our plates pushed aside and wallet out waiting for the check for almost 20 min. We only got our check because we went to the bar to ask for it(which they had to find our absent server so she could print our ticket to bring to us).

I’m closer to believing in magic after experiencing Katie’s pizza, rosé and phenomenal patio. One, the pizza: My friend and I did a ½ and ½. One half the crispy kale and the other fig. The kale on the pizza was indeed crispy and so fresh. I’ve had my fair share of trying to bake kale to perfection but they have surpassed all attempts on my part. However, when I go back, I will order the whole fig pizza. With generous amounts of goat cheese and uniquely seasoned with sage I think I might have dropped the ‘L’ bomb(love) on this pizza. If you don’t sit on the patio when the weather is nice, you’re wrong. It’s amore, Katie’s Pizza Café!

I love Katie’s Pizzeria. None of the chairs are the same and has a very charming mismatched vibe. Their ingredients are pretty unusual for pizza, but everything I’ve tried so far was delicious. Highly recommend the shrimp salad.

Katie’s Pizza knows how to do gourmet pizza and does it better than pretty much every other place in St. Louis. No, it’s not the only place to get a unique ‘za in STL but they have a giant menu with tons of fresh options. Not only do they serve a mean dish, but they also have an awesome atmosphere. I’ve been twice in the past two weeks and each time I sat on the patio at the same table. The inside is beautiful but we’ve had some pretty cool summer evenings so I thought I should take advantage of that. You MUST get the seasonal figs. They come with goat cheese, cashews and pita. They’re sooo good. I had no idea a fig could be so delicious. I could seriously eat them every day. They’re sweet and cooked to perfection. For pizzas I’ve had the Apple+Prosciutto and the Egg. Out of those two the egg was my favorite. I’ll be back to try some different pizzas and enjoy the great wine selection.

Katie’s is good pizza. I particular appreciate the topping’s which set them apart from other local pizza joints. Goat cheese, fig, apricot and butternut squash, were the ingredients that won me over. I had the Butternut squash and goat cheese pizza along with the butternut squash and goat cheese salad on a bed of fresh greens with a balsamic dressing… knocked me to my knees! The server was very friendly and kept my water glass full. The space has a dated feel and outdoor seating that makes it feel like an authentic, down-home pizzeria.

My niece and I had a dinner date here because this is her favorite pizza place. It was my first time and it did not disappoint. First of all, I love the décor, especially all the different tables and chairs. We started with caprese salad. YUM! Huge chunks of mozzarella and tomatoes. We made a combo pizza — half tre amici and the other half was something with arugula(my niece’s side). The tre amici was amazing. We ended with the house made ricotta donuts. I was not a huge fan. They are like beignets with soft centers from the ricotta. You get around 7 – 8 in an order. one would be enough, with a cup of coffee, to be satisfying. If I could order just 1, I would but since it’s a full order I’ll skip this ending in the future. It was a waste of money for us with just two of us.

The really good things about this place #1 is their Lunch Special. It’s relatively cheap($ 17 including tip) and you get a lot of food for that price. The lunch special comes with a personal size pizza(the size of a dinner plate!) and a «small» salad. The salad is actually huge and could be a whole meal in and of itself. I got a caprese salad and was happy with it. Simple ingredients presented well always deserves an A in my book. If ordering the caprese salad, I recommend asking for more basil(because for me, basil makes the dish.) #2 Table bread. It’s not traditional Italian bread, but it’s buttery and salty, warm, and lovely. #3 Atmosphere is fun and quirky. Definitely versatile as a fun lunch place or a semi-classy date night restaurant. Now you’re asking, «Elizabeth, Why only 3 stars!!!» It’s simple. For me, pizza is 60% about the crust and 40% about the toppings. I think the crust of this pizza is not that great. I was expecting a Neapolitan style crust(doughy, bubbly, burnt edges) as they advertise, or at least a traditional pizza crust, but this place uses a crust that’s closer to a buttery biscuit than a traditional pizza crust.

I’ve had this place on my bookmark list for a while and finally made it in for a business lunch earlier this week. This isn’t a huge space and it looks pretty popular. I cannot recall our server’s name but I was pretty impressed by her enthusiasm for their food and knowledge of the menu. Ultimately, I decided on their lunch special which includes a salad and a 7″ pizza — both of which were her recommendations. Their $ 14 lunch basically grants you access to almost their entire menu in smaller sizes. That said, neither the salad nor the pizza appeared small to me and I could not finish both. My salad was their fried artichoke salad: goat cheese, pistachios, roasted asparagus, over mixed baby greens, balsamic vinaigrette. I think the salad would have benefited from a better tossing to more evenly coat the greens but it was really delicious. I loved the creaminess of the goat cheese and how it paired with the acidity of the balsamic dressing. Add in some warm, lightly fried artichoke hearts and it is a great way to start a meal. My pizza was their Italian sausage with leeks, fontina cheese and pine nuts. It was good but not great. I enjoyed the taste of the sausage but found the plainness of the crust to be a bit of a distraction from everything going on atop the slices. The chop was a bit rough on the leeks such that they weren’t distributed very evenly. It is worth noting that their 7″ lunch-sized pizza actually fills the plate.
