Jose Cuervo Tequileria

Whoops. While awaiting our flight to our NC Barbecue trip we were in what’s left of Lambert «airport» at lunchtime and I yielded to the temptation to have some tacos at Jose Cuervo. The red sauce with the chips was too sweet, oniony with no evidence of roasted flavors, just OK. I had two pork taco’s and Ms T had chicken tacos. The pork was average or below and the chicken was about the same, but dry. My soft corn tortillas were the worst I have ever eaten. They were dry and flavorless and broke when folded. I know it is airport food. It is what it is. Higher ratings have to be due to people who load up on the tequila and can’t remember the food.

I was wanting a salad, but their offerings didn’t really quite add up to a meal. I went with the tacos. They were fresh, but the tequila-​lime marinade on the pulled chicken was cloyingly sweet and tasted like artificial flavoring. And 1.39 to add a tiny dollap of guacomole! Ridiculous! The service was okay, and the drink menu looked fabulous. I would probably try it again, but I wouldn’t have high hopes.
