I needed an associate to help me with a certain fabric that i am needing. The woman at the cut counter was very pleasant but said that she hadn’t been working in the department long so called another associate Becky to help me. The women was very rude acted like I was bothering her. I asked if she could check another store, she said she couldn’t without a stock number. I understand that but then she just walked away without a s word like she was dismissing me very rude. I shop at Joann’s quite often and am vert disappointed in your employees rudeness.

Store has lots of great crafts but it’s really hard to find someone to help you. I went in there one evening to get a framing job done and they told me that the person that usually does that wasn’t there and I need to come back I had driven 35 to 40 minutes to get there and I wasn’t about to leave until someone helped. Finally I did get someone to help me but then they promised me it would be done on October 30 I’ve called twice to find out the status of it and it still is not done!!! They need to hire more people to help!!!

My husband feels hustled every time we come here :)! the only reason they don’t get five stars is because their«coupons» are misleading… huge discounts but only regular priced items which are few and far between when you actually get in the door…

I first came here a couple weeks ago after receiving a sewing machine for my birthday and was excited to find a project and start using it. I walked into the fabric section of the store to figure out where to begin and after a little browsing I went over to the help area and explained that I was fairly new to sewing and wanted to know a good way to get started. The woman there seemed a bit dumbfounded, not knowing how to help me since I had not asked her a specific question. Luckily another shopper overheard my query, took me over to the pattern books and told me how to find the patterns and all the materials I would need. After that I was on my way! I found everything, got my fabric cut and went home and finished making my skirt in three short evenings. Piece of cake! Had the woman who assisted me actually worked there I’d probably have given the store 5 stars, but instead I had to rely on the kindness of fellow sewers to point me in the right direction. And that’s what seems to be the main problem of Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts. They don’t employ people with any knowledge of sewing. On a second visit, this time determined to try a more challenging but still easy project I went to the help area with a few questions about unfamiliar terms on the patterns. Even with a specific terminology question, the woman there was left stumped. This time I knew the drill about getting my notions and fabric cut, but still wasn’t sure what type of zipper to buy. The people there did not know anything about invisible vs. visible zippers and what type of zipper foot was needed. They pointed me to the woman selling sewing machines. She had the knowledge I was looking for, but was busy embroidering and didn’t seem too concerned to help someone not buying a machine. With what I finally believed was sufficient material and knowledge I left the store, a little exasperated but excited to embark on my second project. On returning home I realized I overlooked some of the required materials that the woman in the store had of course not mentioned to me when I asked her where I would find all the necessary parts. I had hoped that Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts would embrace a novice sewer with open arms, but I’m left searching for another fabric store that will nurture my sewing needs and allow my skills to flourish.

Ever since I took a knitting class, I’ve been on a knitting run. I usually come here for knitting supplies. The prices are the cheapest that I’ve seen. The selection is absolutely great. The weekdays here don’t have much staff. The weekends are full of employees asking if you need some help.

Great store-clean, well stocked, friendly staff. They have a very good selection of the things I go to craft stores for: yarn, beads, books, and magazines.

There aren’t really too many crafts stores out there like there used to be, I guess people are too busy doing everything else now days. Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts is a modern day hobby store. The store is nicely laid out, and its pretty easy finding your way around to the desired area you need to find. I have used the help of the employees before and the few occasions of working with them other than checking out leads me to believe they are very knowledgeable about the store and its inventory which is always a good thing, well to me anyway. I have made several purchase at Jo-Ann, and each and every time I have had a complaint free satisfying shopping experience, and believe me that’s a great thing in today’s busy world.
I love this store. Maybe I’m partial because I do drool a little just thinking about different fabrics and projects I could be working on. If you get claustrophobic or if you’re just irritated by other people on this particular day I advise you to not go. But if you love great sales(patterns only 99 cents!), variety in crafts and don’t mind being patient to get your fabric cut then check it out. P. S.
