Jest Murder Mystery

Pros: Funny and entertaining
Cons: Mystery and answer made no sense
Went to a performance held at the Pere Marquette Lodge in Grafton, IL. Someone else made the actual reservation, so I did not know what to expect.
The show does want people to participate a little, and this did not sit well with me. I hate the spotlight, I hate introducing myself, and I hate making forced chit chat with strangers. Fortunately there was not too much, but this soured the mood for the night for me. I don’t think most people would have problems, though.
The show itself was pretty funny, but in the end it was pointless. There was a murder, and we were supposed to listen and figure out whodunit from what the actors said. But the answer turned out to be impossible to figure out from the clues given. There was a prop pulled out at the last moment that was supposed to implicate one of the characters, but no one knew or had even mentioned it until then. So I felt like I sat through the whole thing and wasted my efforts trying to figure it out.
If you want a comedy show, maybe this’ll do. But don’t fool yourselves. A dinner mystery it is not.

I booked Jest Murder Mystery for a hotel dinner gathering of about 50 people. Randy was very easy to work with, and the contract and instructions were very easy to follow and easy to hand off to the waitstaff captain without any fuss. We had no problem submitting the contract and deposit, and ironing out all of the details specific to our group.
The actors were very professional and helpful. They arrived on time, and immediately set all of the attendees at ease. The show was a lot of fun, and very interactive. The actors were very funny, and seamlessly incorporated the audience interaction into their performance. I received a lot of compliments for bringing Jest in for the show!

Randy was who handle the contract and lining things up for the murder mystery for us. He did an amazing job and very easy to work with. Not sure about the other reviews below but they all were very easy to deal with and very courteous to me.
Actors show up in plenty of time, even though we had a snow storm come through. They really showed my audience a fabulous time. Many of my guest told me that this was more interactive then others they had been too. Heard so much laughter for them all, you knew they were having a good time.
I would definitely hirer them again in the future. If you listen to the negative reviews and don’t hire them it will be your loose.

Terrible! We paid our deposit and then they said they never received our signed contract, even though we used the exact same email. Told us the date we requested was now booked, even though they had our deposit for weeks beforehand. Very rude when we tried to contact them.

very rude and poor business! wouldn’t recommend. gave them credit card for the deposit and it was charged. however, a week later when i wanted to go over the details they told me it wasn’t confirmed and wanted me to pay an extra $ 500 to fly actors in.
Shady business with a very rude owner.
