Great Clips

Got a shockingly good haircut here.
I apparently am the kiss of death for any hairstylist, because every time I find one I like they end up leaving. And never ever call me. Like, I know you aren’t supposed to steal your own clients when you move salons, but it just hurts me that they don’t bother to, ya know? I guess I’ve been driving stylists away from my regular place faster than I drive men away. So I just started cutting my own hair, which is better anyway, because 10 dollars is more than I like to pay for a haircut. Yeah. I’m that cheap.
But I, like, had to have a professional cut it, so I begrudgingly dragged my poor excuse for a hair do in here and was astonished at what 12 bucks and 15 minutes of uncomfortable small talk could get me.
And in a year when I go for my annual hair cut, and my bomb-​ass stylist is no doubt long gone from here, I won’t be worried. Cuz the clips here are grrrrrrrrreat.

Ashley did an awesome job! She listened to exactly what I wanted and paid attention to the reference pictures I brought in. And she didn’t chat my ear off, which I hate. I look and feel amazing. She really made it right! And she was quick! Definitely recommend!

Average Great clips

This was my first experience at a Great Clips. My boyfriend and last roommate both had good things to say so i decided to try it out. Plus. a $ 14 haircut is kind of IMPOSSIBLE to beat. I have really long and thick hair but i usually just get a couple inches cut off and call it good — I hate paying $ 30-​$ 50. I noticed first that you have to pay extra to get your hair washed… that surprised me, but hey, for $ 14 you cant get all the bells and whistles. So because i was opting for the cheapest cut i didn’t get a wash but she did wet my hair with a spray bottle and comb. During my cut i thought «this is kind of the worst haircut experience i’ve ever had in my life» but then i thought, «no, it’s $ 14 worth of a haircut experience so it makes complete sense». All-​in-​all she cut my hair exactly how I asked and we maintained friendly conversation in the process. I may be back but theres something to be said for the salon experience with the hair-​wash and fun styling they do for you at the end. When i left Great Clips my hair was un-​styled and air-​drying into a frizzy mess.

I’m not a patient person. I want what I want when I want it, and I’ve figured out ways to accomplish that. Tonight I wanted my hair trimmed. Usually I’ll go to a high end salon, spend a shitton of money and still only be partially happy with my hair. As inaccurate as it may be, in my mind Expensive = guarantees. A guarantee that my crappy hair will look its finest when I walk out. But I’m broke. And I need my hair trimmed desperately. And (as previously mentioned) I wanted a trim RIGHT NOW, not next week when someone could pencil me in at a highly inconvenient time.
So, I walked down the street to Great Clips after I got home. I consider myself well forewarned about GC in regards to their infamous mess (whoa, that was supposed to be infamousness, but iPhone realized it knew better) known as «sorry cards.» But, like I said, I just needed a trim.
Tosca checked me in as soon as I walked in and I showed her my coupon for $ 6.95 (yes, I even took a coupon to GC)… Which in hindsight may have been a bad idea if she was a vindictive stylist. But Tosca was a gem. She did exactly what I asked for (trim NOT cut my hair), was super friendly, and gave my some great tips for restoring my super lame fine hair.
I’m moving next week, so I won’t have s chance to use her services again. However, I highly recommend anyone wary of getting a hack job (literally) to put on your big kid pants, save a few bucks (but don’t forget to tip well) and go see Tosca.

I needed a trim, didn’t want any significant style changes, and was feeling cheap.
Got a good basic cut from Carrie at this location, she was pleasant and fast. No complaints.

I got a great cut from Ashley! My husband’s hair looked great too. I’m done going to the Aveda salon for $ 45 haircuts if the work at this local salon is so good. Friendly, skilled, quick experience.
