Where do I even begin with this place. So I wanted to try this because the commercials make it look so nice. That was my first mistake trusting a commercial. My second mistake was pulling in the parking lot. So we walk in the door and right away it feels dirty and nasty. The place smelt of BO and was filled with just raunchy people. Now I’m not saying I’m better than anyone but this crowd was well to say the least not the most pleasant to be around. Why we paid and sat down I have no idea, we ate a little bit and left, I felt just gross eating the food with the overall smell and atmosphere. Never will go here again this place needs a major renovation.

John W. your review is for the restaurant not the people. Everyone has an over weight person in the family, even you. Would you say that to your over weight loved one? You’re just one of those people who have to insult others to feel good about yourself. Besides, you better be careful I’ve seen you post compliments about many restaurants, that’s how being a hog begins.

If I could have given a lower rating I would have. Where to begin? All the food on the bar was dried out and old, the food I ate was ice cold. I saw what was supposed to be salsbery steak looked like dried hockey pucks, what little gravy was on the«meat» was long evaporated. I went to get a bowl of chili which to my surprise was hot I had to wait 15minutes to even get a clean bowl. The only good thing I can say about the chili was its temp, no seasoning & had things in it I was not able to identify. The bourbon chicken which is usually my favorite was so dried out & burnt it was not edible. Staff wise everyone was friendly, especially Nick. He was very attentive always checking on his tables getting refills, a dirty plate did not sit long on his tables. I think had the restaurant been busy we would of had fresher/hot food.

Have you ever just wanted to pig out! This place lets your dreams come true. You can graze these low class food items with some of St. Charles finest sophisticates. For low bottom prices you can let your in inner animal out. Now with a 2.99 take home box you can bring your shame home with you.

Like a herd of hogs going to the trough! This place is gross. Filled with fatties loading their plates with a weeks worth of calories only to back for seconds and thirds. Food is mass produced crap. Dirty as a pig pen. Service is shit.

Ok, not sure what I expected from Golden Corral, but this is literally the dirtiest nastiest place I have ever eaten. Been to golden corrals before, it is a fav of my kids… But this location is downright gross

This place is a chaotic mess! Major congestion makes it high stress trying to get to foods you want. When you finally make it after waiting in long lines the food is out or so low it looks like it’s been sitting for hours. Yes they do have a ton of food with huge variety but it’s all pretty much mediocre at best. Steak is of poor quality it’s huge a gamble that is not in your favor to get a good piece. Potatoes are over baked. Ribs are huge and 90% fat. Bathrooms are so gross you feel like your walking out a disease trap.

It’s a little more expensive than most buffets, but I can see why. There’s a big selection and I enjoyed all of the foods I tasted. The fried okra is very good, as is the bourbon chicken. I absolutely loved the blackberry pie from the dessert bar. It was also really entertaining to watch them make cotton candy right there. There’s also a chocolate fountain. That said, it was really busy even at 3:00 in the afternoon when I went. I’d avoid it on super busy nights but plan on coming again on the off hours. My waiter was certainly rushed but managed to refill drinks and grab plates.

The Awsome Potroast is, well, awesome. Our server, Edward, is very attentive. Glad to be back and have decent quality and great service.

This restaurant represents alot of what is wrong with America. — Racial tension so thick, you can cut it with their dull steak knives — People who wear sweatpants out of necessity — Kids cutting in line in front of a war vet with a walker — Still not as appalling as a trip to Walmart The pot roast was superb and the fried okra was to die for.

Just another disappointing buffet. Never a big fan of buffets because your food is at the risk of others touching it… for instance the little kid who stuck his hand in the gummy bears on the dessert bar and no one changed them out. In addition, Golden Corral really needs to reconsider their ventilation system because the restaurant felt very greasy and the air was very heavy. The food, in general, was very bland and staff struggled to keep up with refills during the busy dinner rush. The appearance of most items was unappealing and the cold bar lacked the appropriate refrigeration levels… shredded cheeses were in large clumps in their containers and other vegetables appeared more wilted than fresh and crispy. Overall not a good restaurant restaurant experience.

Very busy on a Saturday night, food was good but it was hard for the staff to keep the trays of selection full!

Let’s be honest, you aren’t going to Golden Corral for a $ 50, 10 oz porterhouse and a side of haricot vert. You’re going to Golden Corral for a $ 12 hunk of steak with a side of string beans… and pizza, pot roast, mashed taters, orange chicken, fried chicken, chicken wings, and then dessert. You know what you’re getting yourself into when you go to the Corral. It’s a lot of food for a decent price. Although it isn’t the cheapest place. Especially if you add a drink. However, you get far more than what you pay for. The first recommendation I have is to get the pot roast. It’s life changing. I’ve often thought about wearing one of the several fanny packs that I own and shoving a bunch of pot roast inside. I’m not sure if that is frowned upon but usually it’s «anything goes» at Golden Corral. Also, don’t save up for the dessert bar. While nothing makes me happier than cookies, ice cream, cakes, and pies, it’s all just average. The chocolate cake probably takes the…(sigh)…cake. The ice cream leans toward nasty. I’m not sure how that is possible. Oh and apparently there is a salad bar. I’ve never indulged nor do I even recall seeing it so I can’t comment. I’m sure it’s fine but my final recommendation is to not go looking for the salad bar. You just might find it. The place is clean and the food is hot unless it’s supposed to be served cold. I’ve yet to get salmonella poisoning from this restaurant and that is usually a plus in my book. Around dinner time the line becomes lengthy so plan accordingly. I docked a star because of the dessert bar.

I can agree with my friend’s review that this buffet should experience a serious refurbish, especially with the way they serve food in this joint. Sometimes they do have food out there that would just sit there for hours on end without replacement, which is troublesome because of food bourne illnesses. Secondly, some of the clientele that attend this establishment border on the questionable. One day, I passed by this tall older man whose right ear was half missing and the rest of it had some sort of mossy growth on the rest of it. Now, I am a Christian and its not my place to judge, but I was praying to the virgin Mary that the rest of his ear was not in the salar bar. Also, this place does get very packed to the point where I sometimes worry that the fire department codes may be violated. This establishment does try though. Their servers give great customer service for the most part and I love, love, love the chocolate fountain in the dessert section. They also offer military discounts and during Veteran’s day, their buffet is free to veteran’s. But, I don’t see myself as being a regular patron.

I can honestly say I am not a buffet fan. However I am open to trying them on occasion and my in-laws chose this establishment for our Thanksgiving celebration. I can honestly say it changed my outlook on the buffet thoughts. The establishment was clean and they had plenty of staff waiting to help you with your needs. They refilled the food as much as possible and had as much fresh items that they could offer. I am always worried about eating well at a buffet and I was able to do this without over doing it. This location is quite popular as when we left the line wrapped around the building. Good job!

I like this Buffet, its a little pricey on their dinner, but I think you get what you paid for, I usually end up eating too much but at least I do not go hungry.

I went on Veteren’s Day yesterday with my boyfriend and his family. They got the free meal but us non-military had to pay. XD The line was huuuuge that day– we waited in the cold for an hour. That was how long it was– it extended outside the restaurant. I always find the food here to be consistent and tasty. Which impresses me as a chef because it can be a challenge to always be consistent with taste when it’s busy. My criticisms is that I find their Chinese food lacking.. . granted I should see that coming with any American restaurant trying to make Asian food. Their dessert selection is okay. I am a huge fan of sweets yet when I go here I never get a lot. I DO always get their chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips because for some reason that sort of cookie is a rarity. If they stop making those cookies I will have no reason to eat here.

I ended up visiting Golden Corral on Lindbergh recently after doing some antique shopping with friends. What a mistake! Now, my friends seem to enjoy this place, but I have to say that they don’t have the best taste in food. They are the type of people who prefer franchise restaurants and fast food to local, unique restaurants. I go for the occasional buffet though too, but I consider them all you can eat mediocre food. Well, this is my take on Golden Corral. It really is like a factory farm in there! You open the door and the waiting area is a line formed by rails. I felt like a cow on the way to the troughs. After passing the cashier I had a chance to really take in the atmosphere. First off, this place is loud! I don’t think I have ever been to a restaurant this loud before. One of the reasons is that the tables are only a breadth of two people from the food stations(or one person, considering the size of most of the patrons). This makes it difficult to navigate the food stations without bumping into people. Also, the food stations are laid out in the most awkward way leading to poor traffic flow throughout the whole place. One of my friends suggested we sit in the sectioned off seating area that is usually used for events, so as to cut down on the noise. It was a good idea, but the ambience in this place was still bad. As for the food, I thought the Brussels’ sprouts were pretty good, but that was it. The pizza was bad, their variety of foods at the Mexican station was too small to even constitute a station, and the salad bar was unimpressive. Their dessert station was twice the size of all the others, but the food there was sad, as well. My recommendation is that you pass on this place. As I said earlier, buffets in general are usually all you can eat mediocre food. But, I’d like it to ATLEAST be mediocre, and I’d like to eat my mediocre food in a pleasant atmosphere.

What is a person to do when ALL the places I go for Sunday breakfast are closed? I go south. I went after 7am mass to this monster of a place. I can only say it was OK. But $ 10 is more than fair for what you get. Since this is the first time I have ever been here I was a bit of a rookie trying to figure out what they had. I saw a grill guy cooking what looked to be steaks but never saw one steak go out to the food area or anyone go up and ask him for some. Not that I wanted steak at 8am but hey I hear they are good with eggs. I did see him grilling pork steaks and that was interesting. I will have the«St. Louis» breakfast pork steak, eggs, with provel smothered in Maull’s BBQ sauce. Ah one can only dream. OK I had some over cooked bacon, smoked sausage, bagel, odd bagel to say the least more like a bagel chip than a bagel hard to describe other than the bagel was 2 halves sliced into 2 more halves. So there is the bagel rant. I saw a huge dessert area with all the favorites an egg station, loads of cream gravy and chipped beef(SOS). Oh and that great St. Louis dish grits. Big variety and a big meat place. Just to dog gone far from WestCO. I guess my life will be Uncle Bill’s on Manchester for breakfast on Sunday. Oh well.
