I’ve been coming here for years and still love it. It has gotten a lot bigger and therefor I think it is at times hard for the kitchen to keep up with quality. However, we ate their a month ago for a birthday and it was delicious. We had 18 people for dinner and it was no problem getting served in a timely manner and all the food was delicious. That being said they are wonderful for large groups and take reservations for parties of 8 or more.

Top notch service for top notch food. This is my first trip to St. Louis. Of course, I had the toasted ravioli and it was a delight. The linguine pescatore was a light olive oil sauce with seafood. The pasta was perfectly cooked to al dente. A five star choice for sure.

Great service on New Year’s Eve. Favazza’s provides excellent service and runs at full staff. Nothing is worse than being at an understaffed restaurant on a busy night. Favorites are Linguine Tutto Mare, Steak or Chicken Siciliano and the Toasted Ravs and Fried Artichoke Hearts for starters. Excellent, reasonably priced wine list. The servers know their menu and can easily do special orders and make substitutions. Never a send back situation here. And they are open for lunch on Saturday, a bit of an anomaly for The Hill sit-down restaurants.

Favazza’s is one of those spots that we have made a New Year’s tradition over the last couple of years. We also try to go at least once more during the year. For the life of me I can’t figure out why we don’t go more. The service is second to none. The food was absolutely delicious. They offer one of the largest selections of gluten free pasta in the area, which is much appreciated. Coffee and dessert rounded out the evening for us and another truly great dining experience at Favazza’s. If you want a nice night out, grab a drink sit by the fireplace and enjoy this spot on the hill.

Oh, Favazza’s… You perfect little gem, you! We come here often, but most recently we made reservations for New Years Eve. We were seated as soon as we came in, which is always nice with reservations. I’ve noticed other restaurants on the Hill have a tendency to let the reservation list fall to the wayside when it gets busy. The bread basket is this wonderful little sampling of both garlic butter bread and plain white bread. I ordered the Chicken Limone which came with a salad and side of pasta. The chicken was perfectly cooked; it was so tender I almost couldn’t keep it on my fork. Everyone at the table was happy with their food. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive; our drinks were always refilled and all of the food came out in a timely manner. My husband ordered an old fashioned cocktail and said it was a little too heavy-handed on the bitters. Dessert was equally as wonderful as the dinner. The décor is typical of that found at most Hill restaurants, but the restaurant is surprisingly spacious. From outside it looks like a little corner café, but once inside you are greeted by a large upper dining room, a lower level dining room, a separate bar area, and a BEAUTIFUL back patio. The space would be lovely for a large dinner party or rehearsal dinner. Kudos on great food and great service, Favazza’s!

One of the better spots on the hill! Fried cheese was good! Service was good place was clean. The bar area was nice. Our server was good prompt and attentive but not overly intrusive. Very accommodating. We had a very large 3D cake for a groomsman and they were able to keep it refrigerated until we were ready for it.

My mom was in town earlier this month and she requested an Italian restaurant for dinner one night. I have taken my mom to a few places on the Hill before and so I wanted to bring her somewhere she hadn’t been before and Favazza’s was it ! We arrived on a Friday night as a small group. It was my mom, my fiancé, my best friend and me. The restaurant was pretty busy, but they still had a few tables open and so we were seated right away. Our server came over and brought us some water and took our drink orders. Mom and I opted for some red wine, my fiancé ordered a beet and the best friend was the driver so she drank water-she’s a good DD! When our drinks were brought to our table the server went over the specials with us for the evening and they all sounds so good. He gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and then returned to take our order. I know I ordered the manicotti and I know my mom ordered the linguini pescatore, but I can’t remember what the others ordered. I know the best friend ordered a special and my fiancé ordered something with chicken and pasta, but I can’t remember the exact meals. We also ordered a few house salads to start with. Our salads were brought out quickly and they even delivered a basket of bread-lots of bread! By the time I was finished with the salad our meals were arriving and all looked so good. Everything on the table tasted delicious and all of us were satisfied with the decisions we made. The only compliant my mom had is that the linguini pescatore was a lot spicy for her. The menu didn’t mention anything about spice so she didn’t think to ask. Mom enjoyed as much of it as she could, but had to ask for a to-go box for the rest. Overall, it was a good meal and I will recommend it again. Our server was friendly, fast and efficient. The food was really good. It’s a nice little Italian spot and I am happy it was a successful meal for all of us.

Service — 10 out of 10! Our waiter was amazing in every way. The best service I’ve had in a restaurant in a very long time! Food — 8 out of 10. Had eggplant that released too much water into the pasta… easy mistake to make so won’t hold it against them very much. Other than that issue it was delicious. Ps Don’t over order, the serving sizes are huge… we each had 3 meals from our entries.

Considering the quality of food available in The Hill, I was quite disappointed with everything I ate here. The toasted ravioli, soup, lemon crusted tilapia and even the bread were well below my expectation. NOTHING tasted fresh to me. The toasted ravioli were the worst I ever had. I give them 2 stars because I admit their service and atmosphere was wonderful.

We had our rehearsal dinner there and it was awesome! The staff was very attentive, polite, and well put together. Other than slightly over cooked vegetable medley, the food was awesome. Will definitely go back!

We came for classic Italian. It’s really just«tired» Italian. How can toasted ravioli, lasagne, mastaciolli w salsiccia all taste the same. And not good. Really. This place is not good. I’m sure there are a lot of other better Italian restaurants on the Hill.

I’ve eaten at Favazza’s many times over the years, but this past weekend was my best experience yet. We were seated on the beautiful covered patio next to the fireplace. We had my restless 2 year old nephew in tow. The waitress graciously offered to bring his plate out first(OMG sidenote: the ‘kid’s pizza’ is an adult portion!) I opted for the fettuccine with shrimp, scallops, and mushrooms. The menu is a bit pricy, but the bang for your buck is incredible. I took two full meals home with me! Next time I may split an entrée with someone. There is something for everyone here. Flavorful, FILLING Italian with attentive staff and a nice atmosphere.

Experience: 4 stars, Service 5 stars, Food: 4 stars A friend had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday for a table of 20. It was 7:45 before we were seated, it was packed there. Food came out pretty fast, considering how big of a party it was. I had the Baked Cavatelli Melanzane, which was rich and really filling.

Take your business elsewhere on the hill if you want really good Italian food. However, this place does have a nice atmosphere, great outdoor patio, friendly service, and can accommodate large groups. My two stars is for the food. It is a notch above fazolis(except for the cavetelli con broccoli which was delicious). I am especially harsh because they charge a good amount for their food, but don’t seem to make anything fresh in house. Their portions are large enough to share for the budget conscious.

I’ve been here numerous times and have always left happy. I even had my wedding rehearsal dinner here for 30+ people in the back room. The outdoor patio has such a nice atmosphere and is open all seasons, so you can sit next to the roaring fire in the winter or under the ceiling fans in the summer. My ultimate favorite dish is the Sole Picatta — seriously delicious! The flaky fish, Italian breading, lemon sauce… everything is wonderful. To me, this restaurant is ‘The Hill’ and others just can’t compare!

I’ve been here once for a normal dinner and once for a wedding rehearsal dinner. I was pretty underwhelmed the first time I went here. I’m not a fan of Italian food in the first place but I thought it was particularly underwhelming. I can’t even remember what I got but I was disappointed. I recently came back for my sister’s rehearsal dinner and thought it was better than I remembered, but still not great. I got a seafood pasta dish that was good but, when it comes down to it, a bunch of noodles and not enough seafood. The best part of the meal was probably the bread. Only because they dipped it in garlic butter… at the end they brought out ice cream that was pretty bad. Just tasted like something cheap from the store. The service was fine. Favazza’s just isn’t for me.

While growing up with Chef Boyardee has taught me that meat-stuffed ravioli exists, I have never been to an Italian restaurant that actually serves them. Enter St. Louis because apparently, toasted ravioli is a thing here? Anywho, came here for lunch with some friends and they ordered some toasted ravioli for the table. I’m not typically a fan of breaded foods in general, but the toasted ravioli was tasty. I wouldn’t say I’m converted but I enjoyed them. For my main, I opted to not go for the more traditional pastas with tomato-based sauces but instead, ordered the Linguine Tuttomare. It’s a very heavy dish with a buttery garlic sauce and shrimp, crab, and clams. Heavy but delicious and filling. If seafood’s what you want, I’d recommend this pasta dish. The smell alone told me I would enjoy it. Service was also great. Our waiter was very friendly and gave us a ton of garlic bread so the«small» basket would be enough for our party of 4 while our glasses kept refilling with water without us even seeing it happen. Magic.

Psst. You want to know a little secret? I freakin’ LOVE Italian food… and it’s because of places like this. My husband’s family has been coming to Favazza’s for years, and they introduced me to it many years ago. It’s got that old-school Italian charm that I just love… the dark woods, rich tones, white tablecloths, etc. Nice, but not too fancy. I walk in the doors and immediately feel at home. «Hey, Ma! Fix me some lasagna!» Don’t worry, I’m just joking. I wouldn’t do that. I’ll take manicotti instead. ;) I came to Favazza’s this past weekend with my husband and in-laws. One thing to note is that Favazza’s does not take reservations on Fridays or Saturdays. «So what?» you say. «They have a humongous outdoor patio and a ginormous restaurant that’s big enough for large parties, so surely they’ll have room for teeny little me.» you say. Not so fast, smarty pants. Knowing this key info, we got there when they opened at 5:00 on Saturday. There were already several tables seated at that time, and there was quite a wait by the time we left. Point proven. The food here is pretty amazing. Even the bread they serve is to die for. It’s garlicky toasted goodness that made me want to run off into the sunset with the basket and scarf it all down myself. Thankfully, my momma taught me to share. Entrees are served with a dinner salad(topped with plenty of shredded provel and a light Italian dressing) and choice of pasta or vegetable. My father-in-law is currently on a strict diet, so he just had a bowl of traditional Italian wedding soup and a house salad with added grilled chicken. My mother-in-law ordered the mostacchioli, which was such a large portion that she probably ate her leftovers for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, and a midnight snack the following day. My husband and I were both feeling in a parmesan mood, so he got the chicken parm while I opted for the eggplant parm, and we each had a side of cavatelli with marinara sauce. We both took home about half of our entrees, as they certainly don’t short you on the portions here. The service was outstanding throughout our meal. Our server was very friendly and had plenty of good recommendations, our food came out to the table in a timely manner, and drinks were kept full. I will most certainly be returning to Favazza’s. I’m happy the warmer weather is now upon us because their wonderful patio is the perfect place to eat more of that bread.

I first tried Favazza’s at a catered event and was impressed by the quality. For the final stop of Thursday’s reverse progressive dinner, we went to Favazza’s. We had to wait 20 minutes before being seated on the patio even though when we walked by and later when we were seated we saw a couple of empty tables. That was a little irritating, but it wasn’t disastrous as we had already eaten a little. After having a huge late lunch, a snack, and then eating at Gelato di Riso and Milo’s, I had so little of an appetite that I just ordered a cocktail and munched on bread. Eventually I got bored and ordered an Italian lemon ice. It was beautiful and tasty too. My friend had the cavatelli con broccoli and loved it. I tasted and may order it when I return, which I hope will be soon. No complaints about the service other than the seating, and I only have great things to say about the atmosphere: It was beautiful outside. My friend and I stayed a good hour and a half at least, catching up and discussing not-so-fine literature in an environment that wasn’t so quiet we felt loud and wasn’t so loud we had to shout(though we occasionally did during the heated book discussion). I’m a fan.
