Went to grab some wings for lunch. Everything looked really good on Unilocal. When I walked in they had a good crowd for lunch time. The bar tender was too busy talking about her personal life to help me. The wings were oversized and soggy. Wish they were crispier.

Great little place! I got their cheesesteak(i think it was). Was great! I was pleasantly surprised. The neighborhood is nice to walk around in, too.

Caesar salad is my favorite. Service is amazing. Tall tables only though… but Barbie rocks!

D’s Place is a good little bar to drink cheap. They recently remodeled and it’s now a no smoking establishment. They have excellent food and their ranch and blue cheese dressing is the bees knees. However, the service is usually pretty bad. It seems like every time I come into D’s, the bartenders are busy chatting up the ‘regulars’ at the bar. Actually walked out of here on a Friday night after sitting at a table for 35 minutes without being served or acknowledged by any of the staff. My fiancé got a drink from the bar and asked for a menu after about 15 minutes of waiting. We finished our drinks, waited a few more minutes, paid our tab at the bar then left. I’ve been in here a bunch of times and the service is always pretty slow, but someone eventually comes to take your order. Usually. It’s a cool bar, but I feel like if the bartenders don’t know you, they aren’t really concerned with taking your order or acknowledging your existence. Great wings though.

Smokey, dark, funky dive bar. Excellent food and drinks! Bartenders are always friendly! I keep going back and will continue to go back! Try the Danimal or the St. Louis cheesesteak with onion rings!

The staff is honestly awesome as well as the owners. They have cooks that dominate the grill and cooking. Recommended to anyone and everyone! I’ve been coming back at least once a week

So, this place is a bar. I don’t think Unilocal makes that super clear. It’s a loud, smokey, dark, video game filled bar with uneven tables and questionable cleaning practices. That being said, they served me the best drink I’ve ever had– a pineapple upside down cake martini. Girly, yes, but even my beer drinking husband liked it. His only complaint was their lack of beer selection. The food was REALLY good. Unexpectedly so. Burgers tasted homemade. Fries and onion rings were crispy and delicious. Stuffed jalapeños were awesome. The food could easily stand at a more typical restaurant. While I wouldn’t recommend this place to just anyone, I enjoyed it. It was a great value for some good food.

Great place!!! The bartender Trisha was super helpful! She even told me that I looked good today, but let’s face it I did! Great food too! The owner Dan is out of this world!!! He’s always there to greet you with a smiling face and a handshake, sometimes a hug!!! Love love love this place!!!

This place is ridic… We went there and the bouncer was a total jerk because he wasn’t up to date on missouri new temporary drivers licenses and that they are paper until your new one arrives… Bouncer on a power trip we are all in out late 20’s… we walk in with 12 people… this guy was just trying to make up for what is lacking in his life by being a jerk… Needless to say we left…

Good cheap drinks. The bartenders? The ladies are awesome. Friendly neighborhood bar. Can get loud on weekends, but doesn’t matter, I’ll still come.

If you can stand places that allow smoking, and enjoy good food and a good value, you should check D’s Place out. This is the neighborhood bar for many in Soulard. First of all, drinks are much cheaper than anyplace else in the area(save Cat’s Meow). Just look around. There are boards advertising early and late night happy hour… shot specials for the night… ½ price deals during sporting events. If you take some time to check out the specials before you order, you can save some cash. Also, take time to read the food special board at the end of the bar. It usually has some kind of item that is not on the regular menu. Last night they offered a fish wrap. It sounds kind of boring, but it was really good. My wife loved her Ruben sandwich.

I tried this place out after not being there for a few years. Me and the ladie came for an late lunch. It wasn’t busy which I would expect on a Monday afternoon. We ordered the Nachos which were fantastic! Each topped individually and closer to tostatas and delicious. My ladie and I also ordered sandwiches, buffalo chicken for me and mushroom swiss for her. Both very good. The food was a lot better than the typical bar food you’d expect at what appears to be a dive bar. We’ll definitely be back. There’s a few more sandwiches I want to try.

If you like dive bars, this is your place! The drinks are strong Bartenders are great Only bad thing it is one of the few places you can still smoke in. So if you don’t mind smelling like an ashtray and bring a little horse the next day, come, join us and maybe play a game of power putt or 2!

When looking to visit a bar in Soulard that I hadn’t been to before D’s place was the winner! I don’t know why I never visited before, shame on me! We arrived on a Sunday night and it wasn’t very packed at all. We managed to grab some seats at the bar and our server/bartender was quick to offer us drinks! The group I was with was ecstatic since they were able to play their hunting arcade game… but I just chose to watch and enjoy my beer. D’s place had a nice menu, but I wasn’t hungry. After seeing the food I can agree that I will go back and probably try some bar food-nothing beats some good bar food! Overall, this is a nice place in Soulard and I will go for another visit soon. Our server was great and the drinks were cold.

It’s easy to appreciate D’s Place. Not too many bars understand value around Soulard, but D’s Place knows how to bring in patrons, good specials! I love the specials at D’s because it makes me want to spend more money there time and time again. Yesterday I wanted to catch the Cards game since Chris Carpenter was making his season debut after missing most of the season. It seemed like a good time to celebrate, despite the final outcome of the game. D’s Place offers half price pizzas, any pizza, during Cardinal games. I ordered a large specialty pizza for $ 7.50. I ate what I wanted while washing it down with two dollar domestics and took the rest home to share with my wife when she got home. I had the D’s Spicy Special: hamburger, bacon, jack cheese, and hot sauce, coupled with a side of ranch for dipping. I’m not big on hot sauce, but with ranch, it makes for a nice pub snack. Really I had my wife in mind; otherwise, I would have ordered a meat or chicken pizza. Either way, I was pretty content. D’s has its few drawback. First, it draws a lot of middle-aged men. I think the bartender appreciated me for not being an old creeper! I was there for the game, not to be flirty and gross. Also, it allows smoking, which, despite the new law, I think is completely okay. Owners should not be forced to be non-smoking. However, non-smokers should beware. Great deals and good service, D’s is an ideal place to relax after a long Friday or to catch a Cardinal game!

Another fun Soulard Dive bar, I returned to D’s Place on Saturday night after the Blues game to catch up with my friend’s bachelor party. I hadn’t been here since I moved out of Soulard and the place hasn’t changed. Plenty of games to play in the place, just watch your step moving from the bar area to the game room, especially if you’ve had a bit too much to drink and aren’t paying attention. Golden Tee, Big Buck Hunter, and Silver Strike were all still there with a dart board as well. Drinks aren’t that expensive and they do have some interesting shots. They have a sign above the entrance to the game room that has the special shots for that day. Since I don’t do shots(that often) I couldn’t tell you what the featured shot was for Saturday night. The Bartenders were great, especially when dealing with the rowdy crowd of the party I was with but a good time was had by all. Definitely one of the places I miss since moving out of Soulard. Hope to come back again soon.

D’s Place is a dive bar located in Soulard just blocks from the brewery. Since it is a dive bar, I am rating it accordingly. It’s smoky, has lots of video games, a big domestic beer list, and it could do with a good cleaning. On the plus side, it is a combo neighborhood bar and brewery employee fave. So, there is a good cross section of people. They have karaōke on Mondays with a small, but fun group and the staff is nice. Another plus is that they actually serve good pub grub. Meaning the food is homemade, not over the top with breading on every item and not freezer to fryer. The pizza’s, fried pickles, and burgers are homemade and yum. They also have a large variety of wings/sauces.
