I didn’t see any food, so I can’t really comment in that. But this place is a nice boutique, with a well-edited supply of clothes, accessories, natural hair products, and a great salon in back that has a barber as well as a few stylists for natural looks for African Americans. What a positive, inviting, and great spot that does great work, too. I came here on a lark – I don’t even live in the city, but I would get my hair done here anytime!

This is my favorite place on earth. I luv the owner so much because she always takes good care of me and my family. They are family owned and carry some of the most unique things from paintings and art, in addition to that there is so much character in this establishment and it doesn’t get better than this!!!

We just stopped in today and had some fantastic curried rice and a Jamaican-style meat pie. The rice was delicious, and the meat pie(called a patty) had a tender pastry exterior and a nicely spicy meat filling. We also shared a little salad, which stood out because of the amazing home-made dressing — she should bottle and sell that stuff, it’s so good. The owner and chef is charming and the dining area is filled with a variety of Carribean and African artworks. They also have sidewalk seating. If you’re going to a show at the Pageant, this is a great place to stop in. Run across the street and get a couple of those patties!

The Loop is a huge strip of fun kitschy places in St. Louis and sometimes the best places, the places we should be going, get lost in the shuffle. Diversity Gallery & Culture Café is one of those places. Talk about a one-stop shop! There’s an art gallery, a café with great food and drinks, a gift store with fun gifts you won’t find anywhere else and a hair salon! Yep, a hair salon! This place is great if you just want to pop in and grab a bite or some of coffee, or if you want to sit down and spend some time checking out the art and talking to the staff. Does this place have a monopoly on cool, nice people, or what? Don’t let this place get lost in The Loop anymore.

While wondering around the loop in inclement weather I stumbled into this charming place looking to warm up. One side is a small, hip gallery with African style art that serves food and drinks. There are plenty of tables as well as some comfy leather couches. If you are in the mood for a sweet treat you MUST try their BREADPUDDING. It is by far the best bread pudding in St. Louis, actually it is the best I have ever experienced. In addition to the gallery the other side of the store has a hair salon in the back and a cute chic boutique up front with everything from clothes to bubble bath. The owners were delightful. The gallery and the café called the Culture Café are the kinds of places we need to support in St. Louis.
