Coworkers hipped me to this spot! Pretty decent food and the prices aren’t bad! if you’re ever in the mood for Chinese food… stop by.

Well, I came, I brought the sandwich home, and I ate. I’m glad I tried a St. Paul sandwich, but it is not for me. The husband, however, loved it. I will admit I liked the pork sandwich more. It had better flavor. Just a few notes: 1. You can’t eat here. 2. We ordered and they quickly got us out of there. 3. The owners were very nice. 4. It’s an old building, probably was a convenience store once.

St. Paul sandwiches! A St. Louis tradition. Cheap, filling and not that unhealthy. Watch out for the locals begging for money. But you can buy single cigarettes for 50 cents just like the locals.

This is an okay place to go when you want to eat something at the last minute or if as a last resort like I had to today for lunch. I work in the area, and not having not much time left on my lunch break I ran in here to get some chicken fried rice. It was not that bad, but the rice was a bit dry. The egg roll I got was pretty good though. I won’t make coming here a habit. When looking at the outside of the building, that kind of gives you an idea of the place — let’s just say you get what you pay for.

Is this the best Chinese food ever? Far from it. Is it good Chinese food for cheap? You bet. This small Chinese restaurant is in the district where I work and I stop in there every once and a while. It is carry-out only and you order through a glass window. I typically grab some Crab Rangoon, which are triangle shaped and very tasty, and some Special Fried Rice, which has pork, chicken, beef, and shrimp. All of the meat is good sized and well cooked. None of it is mystery-meat like in appearance. As with most Chinese food, it is greasy. Also, the menu doesn’t vary too much from other Chinese joints. However, Delmar does have some great St. Paul Sandwiches, possibly the best in the area. If you’re ever up near the Fox Theater or Powell Hall, stop in for some good Chinese carry-out, as long as it is during the day.
