I was on my way out of the STL but someone told me I have to try Cecil Whitaker’s. I got a medium pizza for the road, thinking I’d save what I didn’t eat for later. I got their«regular»(can’t remember what it was called) but it was so good. No, I mean… it was unbelievable. My stomach started growling louder AS I was eating it and all I could think of was the next piece. Was actually kind of embarrassed at how quickly I demolished it. I’d finished the whole pizza before I was even out of the metro and almost turned around to get more. I generally prefer thick crust, but this was so good I didn’t know what to do with myself. Next time I’m in St. Louis I’m getting like ten of them. I wish I could give it a six star rating.

Usually I am an Imos person, but this Cecils on Watson is much better than many Imos I have been to(not all, but many). They use the right amount of cheese(not loaded on, St. Louis Style pizza isn’t about loading on cheese). It had the right amount of sauce so that it wasn’t dry, and the toppings were fair. I was there on Tuesday 4⁄28 so whomever they had making pies that night, they need to keep that guy. I also had the Cecil salad with house dressing. The dressing is tangy(and delicious), as usual, and the salad had the right amount of cheese, black olives and onions. Also, I didn’t get the cheese garlic bread tonight, but this particular Cecil’s is the only place I will order cheese garlic bread from because the bread is toasty and the cheese is always melted nicely with some brown spots. Based on this fabulous pie I got tonight, I think I will make this Cecils my regular St. Louis Style pizza joint(instead of the Imo’s on Hampton). Very good Cecils staff!

What else to say there but delicious. If you like imos pizza please try CWP. I tried their pizza for the first time tonight and it is better then imos imho. They have great deals and fantastic STL style pizza. Lots of toppings friendly stuff and service. They are very helpful. I am glad I gave them a try.

Good pizza for great deal through Groupon. This location was one location that accepted the Groupon deal, $ 20 for $ 10. We drove out of our way to use this deal and found it worth the drive. The south county Lemay Ferry location would accept Groupons.

After sampling Texas BBQ in Amarillo and Kansas City BBQ you’da thunk St. Louis BBQ would be the obvious next chumbucket. But after hearing about St. Louis style pizza and toasted ravioli we had to adjust our priorities. I got several recommendations but ultimately settled on Cecil’s. Whole family LOVEDIT. Toasted ravioli didn’t make it out of the little waiting area. Pizza was wolfed down in the car in about 5 minutes. Heh heh. Then the piggie party moved to Ted Drewe’s!

Really really not good. First off, if we ask if there’s cheese on the fried mushrooms and fried zucchini, and you scoff and say«of course not» and then it comes COVEREDINPARM, we’re not off to a good start. Not that it really mattered, because everything fried was soggy. Not a little soggy, sweat soaked soggy. The pizza was meh and the wings were standard. All in all, $ 40 for a meal we ate maybe ¼ of. Definitely not returning.

If you like St. Louis-style pizza and you’re a fan of Imo’s pizza, then you should go to Cecil Whittaker to try their pizza. Their house dressing taste well with their chef salad as well as their ranch dressing. Their pizza and sandwiches are alway cooked very well enough for you to eat and enjoy. After having their pizza, you can’t get enough of it and won’t mind to go visit this pizzeria during your next visit. I really like their deluxe pizza as the same way that I like their Hawaiian pizza with just Canadian bacon and pineapple as two toppings. I can’t wait to try their pizza again sometime.

Cecil’s is our favorite STL style pizza. They have a sweet sauce and don’t skimp on toppings. Also, they are very affordable. Whenever we get our pizzas, the staff is always friendly.

Sure, there’s better pizza take out to be had… but you’d be hard pressed to find a place with the great deals, variety and consistency that this Cecil Whittakers offers. First, the pizza. It’s pretty dang good St. Louis style pizza. I’m typically a straight up pepperoni fan, but I always get pepperoni and bacon here because the bacon is so thin and crispy. It’s pretty much pig heaven. Second, I love the variety of their menu. Where do they put all of this stuff in that tiny building? They have far more appetizers than any other similar pizza joint in the area. Third, they are fast! For carryout, they always tell me 15 minutes and it’s always ready in 15 minutes. Finally, cost. They always have some killer coupons. I think we ordered a large 2-topping pizza(that would have been $ 17 straight off the menu) and an appetizer(that would have been $ 7 off menu) for like $ 14.99 with a coupon. They always have a full page of them with all kinds of different options on their mailers, so hold on to them when you receive them or ask when you call to order.

This review is a long time coming… like 20 years. I grew up on Cecil’s and to this day am convinced it’s the best pizza in St. Louis. I have yet to find a pizza in the midwest that rivals Cecil’s in terms of overall value. Always a recommendation to anyone visiting St. Louis, and always a part of my itinerary when I make the trip back home!

Went out drinking the other night with a couple friends and enjoyed several drinks. Had a great time, but when I got home I was a little hungry. The BF had already eaten, so I was on my own. Lucky for me Cecil is only three blocks away, so I ordered a medium two toppings pizza. When I want a simple pizza, sausage and pepperoni are my go to toppings. They told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes, so I doodled for a few and then headed up to get my pizza. The staff is your typical pizza carry out staff. They’re kind of hipster off the wall, but friendly. My pizza was just coming out of the oven as I arrived. By the time I paid, my pizza was sliced, in the box and ready to for the trip home. When your hungry, you can overlook the provel cheese. Actually, with the read sauce and my choice of toppings the provel complimented my pizza and satisfied my hunger. When I got home and the BF saw how good my pizza looked, there were instant hunger pains. I am actually glad I had someone to share the pizza with, otherwise I would have eaten the entire pie. Can’t believe I forgot to take a picture of the pizza. I must of really been hungry.

We just love Cecil’s! It may not be the best pizza in the world, but it is always consistent and quality, and that’s hard to find in a chain these days. Love the provel, love the frequent specials and coupons. Can’t beat $ 5 larges on Tuesdays. I eat here multiple times whenever I visit St. Louis — even if the trip is only 2 – 3 days! You can order unbaked pizzas to take home, and they will give specific baking instructions to make at home.

St. Louis style pizza is famous for its thin crust style with provel cheese. While I agree that imos tastes better this is a great place to go if you are on the hill. The staff is great; I go once a week at least and they remember who I am. If you order off the menu it is expensive if you do not get one of the orders on the«coupons». I put that in quotes because they are permanent deals. My favorite two are medium 2-topping pizza and appetizer for $ 14 and a large cheese for $ 5 on tuesdays.

Um, not the best delivery pizza in town. It isn’t even in my top three, but if you are looking for quick, cheap, and better than that garbage that Dominos should not even be identifying as pizza, this may just be the place you want to order from. The crust is a lot thicker than I generally like, but it’s no Chicago style deep dish. It’s a standard crust on a very ordinary pizza. The delivery is very quick, and I think this is a result of them not having the glut of customers that a place like Imo’s has, and the pizza has always still been warm when it got to me, which is a feat considering how many cold pizzas I have had to heat up in the oven when they got to my door. They often have a ton of coupons available so it’s not hard to feed your entire family on the cheap. When I think of this place, I can’t help but think about something my friend Eric always says, sex is like pizza, even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. If you buy into that sort of thing, you won’t be disappointed in Cecil Whitaker’s…though, it may only be a one night stand for you.

While not St Louis’ best thin crust pizza, imo, Cecil’s beats Imo’s any day of the week. It’s 100% fact that, for the price of one large Imo’s pizza, you can actually get a Cecil Whittaker’s franchise. (The Cecil Salad with house dressing rules!)
