Atek Tuckpointing & Brick Repair

We highly recommend Atek Tuckpointing! We have used them for 3 large jobs on our home over the last 5 years and have been pleased each time with the quality of work, service, and price. Atek is a small company and Jake (owner) takes pride in his work, his small crew, and ensuring your satisfaction. He is patient in answering questions (we always have a lot of them), he is quick to address and resolve any concerns/​questions during the project that you bring up, and a job is never complete unless it meets his standard of quality. When we initially hired Atek, we had no clue what tuckpointing was or anything about the process. We had just bought our first brick home and knew it needed some attention. It is a 2-​story, full brick house. After interviewing 9 tuckpointing companies, we chose Atek because of their approach, references, and quote (not high, not low, but very reasonable). Please see below for each of the projects they have completed for us. We will continue to work with Atek in the future and absolutely recommend them!
Project 1: Tuckpoint entire front of house and historically clean the brick, tuckpoint parapet walls around the house, spot-​point back of house. We were not planning to originally clean the front of the house, but after talking with Jake, we were convinced. There is not a day that goes by that we regret that decision. It was an incredible transformation — we thought our bricks were a really really dark red/​brown. They turned out to be beautiful array of colors. We love looking at the front of our house. We are also super picky and have extremely high standards. The tuckpointing is precise, clean, and it looks great.
Project 2: Tuckpoint the inside of the basement walls. We have a boulder/​masonry/​rock foundation in our basement. Our basement is dry, but we were getting moisture coming through the walls. We had Jake and his team come in, grind out all the old mortar (which was practically crumbling in places), re-​mortar and then apply 2 coats of drylock to doubly ensure moisture would stay out. It looked awesome when they were done! It has been 2 years and everything is still great!
Project 3: Tuckpoint West side of house, tuckpoint foundation around entire house, apply stone façade on front foundation. Jake suggested a while back that we consider applying a stone façade to the foundation on the front of the house. We were unsure at first, but are incredibly happy with the outcome! It looks awesome!

These guys were great! They were quick to give me a bid (and a reasonable one at that). I called at least five or six places, and they were one of two that actually showed up to look at my house. They ground out the old mortar before re-​tuckpointing my whole porch. It took a few days, but the results were really nice, and now my house looks better than ever. They did all the work without a deposit (surprising) and they offered me a 5 year warranty. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
