We stopped here for breakfast after dropping our daughter off at the zoo. The first thing I will comment on is the atmosphere. At first I was a little put off as I generally like table service and this is a place where one orders at the counter and has things brought to you. However, the entire staff there went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, comfortable and looked after. They are very friendly. There were some tables around in addition to some couches so you could experience the room in different ways. We opted for a high top table next to the window, with cushions that made it feel like you were eating at home(only without all the work). The food was good. Their omlettes are not true omlettes, more what I would call«folded eggs» but the flavor combinations worked really well. In addition to the omlettes, we also got an order of french toast, which was outstanding. All in all a great place for a relax and casual breakfast.

I think this is going to be one of my more positive written 4 star reviews. I was here for brunch today and would rate the food at 3.75 stars and the service as an easy 5 stars. The food is well executed if a little basic, with a very good cross section of selections. The French Toast was not especially memorable in any particular way but was very good and perfectly cooked. The price for the food was very reasonable and appreciated. A lot of value for a very boos quality brunch. You pay upfront for the meal. Thais said, the service is excellent. And I do mean excellent. They went of out their way to set up a fairly sized group and were constantly seeking assurances that our accommodation was satisfactory, without being intrusive. Food service was very prompt and they really seemed to go out of their way to show appreciation for our patronage, even though they were quite busy. The locale screams«city life» and was very uptempo while making things, all in all, a very relaxing experience. I will definitely be returning. The only reason for not 5 stars is the menu, while varied, is somewhat basic so no adventurous eating here. Plus no breakfast cocktails, which for me are an integral part of the brunch experience.

This was a great find, it’s a cute Café and the owners are very friendly. The outdoor patio is also dog friendly. I had the fresh garden omelet, it was great. This is a place to try out if your in town. We enjoyed sitting on the patio after breakfast.

This restaurant was SO family friendly. I really feel like they care about each one of their customers individually. We traveled to St. Louis with our 1 year old, and while most restaurants seemed pretty accommodating and family friendly, these guys went out of their way to help make our meal with a 1 year old as smooth as possible. I highly recommend ordering the 2Schae Toast. My husband loved his breakfast burrito. Great little restaurant.

Decided to check this place out for breakfast during my visit to St. Louis. Never have I ever encountered such friendly servers. As soon as I walked through the entrance they greeted me with kindness and gave me the run down of the café. At this establishment you can either order your food to-go or order it to eat there. I had the Corner Cristo, which was one of the most delicious breakfast items I have ever come across. Some genius decided to make a breakfast sandwich with French toast! Took one bite and I experienced an immense euphoria of tastebud satisfaction. If you are looking for a nice bit to eat that won’t hurt your wallet I highly recommend you check this place out. It is a cute little corner café with a pleasant ambience. Good place to go to for a cute little brunch date.

This place’s convenient location made a great meeting spot for a recent outing, the difficulty was we then didn’t want to leave in favor of trying everything on the menu! It’s the epitome of charming sidewalk café, staffed with super friendly, enthusiastic folks. I got the Greek omelette and added pulled pork, it was AMAZING. Our coffee drinks were perfectly made and I already can’t wait to go back.

We were in town for a quick getaway and heading to the zoo. We were staying downtown and knew parking was sparse, so we Unilocaled the area around the zoo. We found 2Schae café and wow, I’m glad we did. This is the perfect place for a light meal before hitting the long walk at the zoo. We ordered the 2Schae Toast and the NY Sophiscate omelette and they were both equally as good. The toast has a good balance of banana and peanut butter with a bit of honey. The omelette was fantastic with a good glaze of brown mustard on top. We opted for egg whites and weren’t disappointed. The owners are extremely friendly and willing to discuss food options and local destinations for the non locals!

Lovely cafè on the west end of the West End. If you find that confusing 2Schae is just north of Forest Park. The cafè is splendidly charming; filled with coffee mugs from around the globe. This is a personal touch the Schaefer’s(owner’s) add displaying their wondrous worldly travels. There’s window seating, bistro tables and a patio option perfect on a beautiful sunshiny day. I personally enjoy the coffee, fresh veggie & goat cheese omelette made to order by Mrs. Schaefer who knows exactly how I like them. She makes me feel soooo at home when dining here. They have plenty to offer, give it a whirl. ~Christy

I came here with my mother yesterday and very much enjoyed it! It is pretty low-key with extremely friendly staff. What I really enjoyed was the variety in terms of seating options. They have some tables, some bar-style chairs, and then they have basically a living room set-up where you can sit in a sofa or nice comfy chair. In addition to a cozy atmosphere, I really enjoyed the food. I ordered a salmon-stuffed cream cheese everything bagel. The amount of salmon was extremely generous and the bagel was absolutely delicious. It came out really quickly, which I also appreciated. My mother ordered an omelet. They have so many to choose from, including build-your-own. She also really enjoyed her food. We finished with a very moist and delicious lemon cake. In sum, I will most certainly be back here to have brunch again.

My 7 year old son wanted IHOP for breakfast but I wanted to try The Kitchen Sink. They didn’t open till 11 so we went to 2Schae. It was a very good breakfast. Hot coffee, good drink variety, very good French toast and scrambled eggs that actually had a homemade taste(a posiive) without being overly homey. My son liked the sausage and scrambled eggs as well as the fresh fruit /French toast from my plate. The only cons for me was the bacon. It didn’t live up to the rest of the meal, but everything else was good. If the bacon would have been a little thicker and maybe a little more flavor, it would have been a nice 5 star. The atmosphere was quiet and intimate without being coming across as trying to be overly trendy. It just had a nice mix of city and small town café feel.

I’m very picky about my breakfast and don’t often rate breakfast places so highly, but this one definitely deserves all 5 stars. The food here is great. The entrees are simple, but perfectly prepared. This was definitely BYFAR the best French toast I’ve ever had. Just the right thickness, creamy on the inside and no cinnamon! Like eating a cloud. I also tried the NY Sophisticate omelet and it did not disappoint. The smoked salmon was served on top, while everything else: capers, onions, cheese, was wrapped inside the eggs. The flavored were delicate but full. The place itself was has a nice ambiance. Located inside an apartment building and taking up a corner, a perfect spot for people watching. Old furniture with pillows and mismatched coffee mugs add to the charm. The staff is spent nice and friendly, but not pushy. They serve your food and show you where to get water, coffee, sauces, and pretty much let you be for the rest of the meal. I like that. The bathrooms are located in the lobby adjacent to the restaurant. On the way there I noticed a sign on the elevator for Skypark. Apparently it’s a part of the roof that café guests are allowed to visit. It has some patio furniture, a hammock, and magnificent view of Saint Louis. Definitely check it out.

Touché is a French expression used to indicate a hit or touch in fencing or to acknowledge a telling remark OR2Schae: made a great meal !!! This little cost coffee shop has a great location. It is close to the metro and forest park. They use fresh ingredients and house made sauces. My fav I items from their menu are: –The French toast topped with fresh berries. YUM! –Smoked salmon sandwich –Couch potato eggs with bacon, ham tomato red onion sour cream and cheddar cheese. I like that they offer Egg white omelette. Kids menu is available. Parking is never an issue.

The 2Schae Café never disappoints. Definitely one of my favorite study spots in my neighborhood. Don and Lisa are very invested in their community and have cultivated a great space and menu. All the staff are amiable and friendly, but the owners in particular make it a point to remember your name if you are a returning customer. The coffee is solid with Hazelnut available every day alongside their house brew and decaf. Additionally they have rotating special drinks and latte flavors. If you go on Saturday or Sunday, GETTHEPANCAKES. They are the fluffiest and you will not be sorry. They have delicious flatbreads, omelets, scrambles, with lots of healthy options, but also great breakfast pastries too.

+ Low-key breakfast/brunch place + Numerous vegetarian options + Very friendly and helpful staff + Generous portions What a cute little place for a casual weekend brunch date. There are a ton of options for breakfast/brunch foods on the menu and actually there are so many choices it can be overwhelming. But the menu has a few items that seem like they must be catered to those who have trouble with decision-making, like myself. There’s an omelette called THEFULLMONTY, which has every possible ingredient stuffed into a giant omelette so you don’t have to decide on just a few. I found this to be perfect. There was just a little bit of everything(meats included bacon, ham, sausage; veggies included asparagus, spinach, zucchini, onion, mushroom, avocado) and was topped with salsa, avocado, and a little sour cream. This came out to be a rather super-sized omelette, which looked to be twice the girth of my friend’s tex-mex omelette for only $ 2 more. It was big enough to eat half and take the rest home for a second meal. They also have a variety of interesting hot sauces to choose from at the coffee serving table, such as Marie Sharp’s orange pulp habanero hot sauce. This was really good on my omelette. The burrito equivalent of the fully-loaded omelette is the BIGBLUEBURRITO. Coffee is self-serve in carafes on a serving table. I liked that the café does pay attention to reducing food waste. E.g. if you don’t want toast with your omelette just say so. If you have leftovers, they will wrap it up for you in aluminum foil instead of a to-go box. My only complaint is that the kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant out in the open so you will walk out with your hair and clothes smelling like frying oil.

I love 2Schae Café for its home-like feeling, delicious food, and super friendly owners! Breakfasts are amazing, the omelette safe big and flavorful, the French toast soft ad spongy! You can’t go wrong with any item in the menu. It’s also a great place to hangout and work on your computer. The owners work and serve you and they are the friendlies of people. I can’t recommend it enough!

What a great locals breakfast spot! My friend was visiting from Ohio so we walked down to breakfast. Staff is vey very friendly. We both ordered the 2schae toast and loved it. We both felt full but light and we hit the museums without getting hungry until late afternoon. I’ll be back to try other items on the menu!

This place was okay– nice and clean with quick service. Seemed heavier on the college/student crowd who appeared to be more loyal-goers and it was apparent why: — Free wifi — Simple and cozy — Fun café name(this is important) The menu options are a bit limited– ie, wanted a bagel with veggie cream cheese(is that too specific?), and the owner seemed slightly dejected to have only been able to offer regular. Regardless, service was quick and the coffee was a good morning pick me up.

This place should meet all of your check-list if you are a student or professional looking for a place to do work while brunching! 1) People are friendly. I know we are in the mid-west, but it’s extra nice here. 2) Free wifi 3) Texas Toast French Toast with fruit and WARM syrup 4) Omelets. Omelets. Omelets 5) Smoothies and Coffee(the coffee is no Blue Print, but better than some others and free refills) What to do? Order at the counter, grab a seat and they will find you. FYI — you are not allowed to eat on the couches in the back, but I would prefer to sit outside on a nice day anyways.
