Smashburger

My wife and I enjoy this place semi-​frequently and have not had bad food until now. I ordered online tonight and beat the order there which was no problem I said I would wait. I waited normal time for smash burger which was also fine. I got home with my food and it was not fine, it was horrible. My burger was burnt and inedible. Both my wife and my burger were sloppy. I also got fried pickles which I didn’t expect to be perfect since I took them to go but we’re cold, not battered properly, and a greasy ball of yuck. Only the sweet potato fries were unscathed. I will never go here again. Ruined my night.

Stay away from this smash burger. Fried pickles were bad. Should call them fried oil pickles with extra oil! Classic smash burger missing cheese, tomato and lettuce. Two jalapeño Baja ordered with egg. Guess what, no egg. Will drive to another smash burger forevermore. Fries tastes like eating salt sticks.

I have never been to Smashburger before. I wasn’t impressed. In reading the reviews, I agree, the service here was not the best. Burger and fries were ok, I have had better burgers and fries at other places.

Heard great things about smashburger. Been here twice and was disappointed both times. Probably won’t return. Judging from other reviews it seems maybe this is a bad location and needs better management. Other locations have higher ratings.

The cashier was obviously not prepared to be working unsupervised and entered my simple order incorrectly multiple times. He also seemed distracted by having to constantly grab his pants to keep them from falling down. It appeared the burger had not been warm since well before the placement of my order, and the Smashfries had barely a trace of seasoning (unlike any other Smashburger I’ve been to). This store is a disgrace to a pretty awesome chain.

Fast, fresh, and tasty! I had the avacado club burger my mom had the classic smash burger. We shared a side of sweet potato fries.
The food was out in just a few minutes and the place was clean and uncrowded.
Heidi, who appears to be the manager, keeps the place in ship shape. You go, Heidi!
Both mom and I had a positive experience and woukd come back.

Wife and I went here for lunch. Music was way too loud. Was handed a still-​wet plastic cup for my drink. Tabletops were still dirty but don’t worry, dude wiped it down with super wet towel so it was nice and swampy. Random children sitting at another table. No parents in sight unless you count the one working. Crap all over the floor. Crusty mustard, empty ketchup. Overflowing trash station.
Burger tasted good but I hate their itty bitty fries.

Well, here’s one to cross off your list. Woefully understaffed tonight. None of the tables had been bussed and the trashcans were stuffed full. It’s really gross eating with everyone else’s leavings just sitting there (after we sort of cleared our own table). My burger had about 3 tablespoons of mayo and half a tablespoon of bleu cheese on it – definitely not the right proportions. And to top it off, evidently the toilet in the men’s room wouldn’t flush. We have had good experiences here in the past, but this was a real turn off. I guess we’ll be switching back to the longer drive to Eden Prairie for our Smashburger fix. Sadly, this one won’t last long.

I’m back in SLP today. I was craving a burger so I headed to Smash. They advertise that they open at 10am daily. Except on this day, I showed up just after 11am and Smash was still not open for business. Unbelievable. Who the heck is running this place?
I should give this rating an incomplete but after reading other Unilocal,sounds like this place has a lot of issues. Thus, I have no choice but to side with the other reviews on this site and give it a 1 star for incompetence and recommend avoiding this place.
If you are craving burgers, head to Five Guys across the street. Or just go next store to Blaze Pizza. You’ll thank me later.

Shockingly BAD. have dined at three other smash burgers in the Twin Cities and its always great! I was excited that we finally got one in St Louis Park however his was the worst dining experience of my life The Place was filthy and the Cashier acted like a complete thug. Our orders were wrong and we had to ask twice for our fries. I can’t believe how rude the cashier was this was during the dinner hour around the first week of June.

This is a place to avoid. My wife and I have been here a couple times. With the exception of a great female employee that clearly should have been manager — no one else — including the management staff — cares about their job or customer service. The cooks screw around in the back. The front people can barely understand how to take orders from customers. The floors are always dirty. The tables are often not cleared and clean. And finally — the food is subpar at best. We honestly feel terrible that such a nice girl that has great customer service and work ethic would be stuck at a place like this. We may offer her a job at one of our businesses.
You would best served by walking across the street to 5 Guys.

⁴⁄₂₆ — the dirty tables and awkward, incompetent workers should have foreshadowed the food poisoning my husband experienced. This place will be out of business in no time. Sad given SLP /​Knollwood is trying to clean up its act.

I love Smashburger. I really do. However, every single time we order from this location (many times), our order is screwed up phenomenally. Not just one person’s order within the entire order, but everybody’s has something wrong with it, missing cheese, wrong cheese, other missing or incorrect ingredients, etc. This isn’t rocket science. It’s burgers. Everything is spelled out line item by line item, so it’s baffling why it’s always wrong. Also, the Smash Fries at this location are barely flavored. You’ll be hard-​pressed to find any of the rosemary on them. Go to Smashburger. You’ll love it. Just steer clear from this location.

I’ve been here twice, and it’s always been good. My burger with avocado only came with one small avocado slice, but I find that somewhat typical at places that I request avocado. Get the buffalo fries!

Our experience here was absolutely phenomenal. I’m honestly very surprised by the two bad reviews this location received; those reviewers are evidently whiny jerks, because not only was the service *amazing*, but the food was incredible. Honestly, the burger and fries I got were among the best I’ve ever had, and I live down the block from a Five Guys, so I know what I’m talking about.
The service was amazing. The young woman who took our order, and later served our food, was absolutely charming and friendly, and made us feel extremely welcome. I believe her name was Dezhanae, and she is the standard by which all service employees should be measured. She treated us wonderfully.
Later, we got a shake for desert, which was *also* totally delicious. (You get the big metal can along with the fountain glass, just like in a diner!) The guy that made that for us was also super friendly and awesome.
This was the first time we ever ate at this place, and it definitely won’t be the last. Ignore the whiny haters in the other reviews. (Notice how one of them *only* leaves negative reviews, and the other one has only ever left *one* review. Not exactly reliable testimony…)

I am obsessed with fried pickles and so I’ve been there quite a few times. Every time I’ve been there, the people have been super friendly and kind. Super friendly! I’ll admit that they could improve on a few things: Please make sure the pickle batter cooks all the way through. Sometimes the pickles clump together and you get a chunk that is raw. Also, they REALLY need to bang the basket to drip off some of the frying oil — I usually have to take napkins and dab the pickles. That said, I complained one time about the batter and they happily replaced my order. I hate to agree with the guy who posted a one star review (because it’s not indicative of the entire restaurant — just his experience) but they really do need to do something with the floors. I’m not sure if it was a bad choice of matériel when they were building, if corporate requires that flooring, or if it’s a cleanliness issue, but someone is going to slip and break their neck (lawsuit). I’m happy to rate this place 4 stars because of the great food (less the pickle experience — which I still love) and the friendly service!

This location is brand new and I wouldn’t be surprised if it got shut down in 6 months. I’ve worked in many restaurants, and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The entire floor was filthy and greasy. Standing and waiting for my to go order, my feet were sliding. Clearly they aren’t mopping the floor as often as they should be. My girlfriend ordered a burger with no tomatoes and it was actually fortunate that they included the tomatoes anyway. For without them putting tomatoes on it she wouldn’t have noticed the hair that was on her burger. Don’t visit this location! Drive the extra distance to any of the other smash burger locations.
