Eat here. Never disappoints. Have had the entire menu and it’s all fantastic. Lamb kabob is excellent. Don’t miss the humus appetizer with ground beef. Also the meza platter is a great value especially for multiple people. Can get it for two, three or four. The Nasir sandwich is great too and the shrimp scampi is phenomenal. Also have great burgers!

Great, authentic Mediterranean food right in the heart of St. Francisville inside an old gas station. Family run and very friendly. A great find, thanks to Unilocal

A pleasant surprise to find such a gem right next door to our B&B! The owner was friendly and we chatted while our food was getting prepared. The souvlaki and gyro were both delicious — the meat was tender and the vegetables fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in St. Francisville, and especially if you’re staying next door at the St. Francisville Inn. It made for a tasty, relaxing dinner.

I decided to give this place a try after reading some fairly decent reviews about it. I ordered the lamb shanks with rice, and a salad. Overall this was okay at best. As far as the food itself it didn’t taste bad or anything it just lacked flavor. The lamb was well cooked but bland like everything else. The price was great and the service was really good.

Great food. Amazing dessert. Service was great and our food arrived quickly. Dont get turned away by the dated décor. If you are looking for some good middle eastern food, al aqaba hits the mark.

This place is wonderful! My compliments to the chef. We eat here anytime we’re in the area. Kabobs are excellent, hummus is excellent. Just eat here, you’ll see.

We shared a chicken-gyro combo plate with hummus, tzatziki, rice, pita and salad and it was all delicious. Service was good and they have outside seating which allowed our dog to sit with us. Highly recommend.

Food was good and not that long of a wait. The staff was friendly and prompt in drink refills and such. The café is rather small and not too cute but the food is good, the portion size is large.

Excellent moussaka! I had the meat and eggplant and the baba ganousch was very nice with a little smokey flavor. Be sure to try the Lebanese tea. Very unusual and refreshing. We came here by accident(all our usual haunts were closed) but we’ll be back for more!!!

Great food and friendly owners. You get tons of food for what you pay for. I had the vegetarian plate and it was delish! The squash, green leaves, okra, spinach, etc was what I had. My boyfriend had the chicken and gyro platter. He loved his food and it was more than enough for him and that is a lot coming from someone who eats out and later eats again. We will be back! Its also a family run restaurant, so we’d rather spend our money there than some ungrateful corporation.

It’s hard to find a good restaurant to eat in this area, but this was a good find. Normally, Mediterranean food is not what I’d go for– I found this place no different than the usual Mediterranean/Lebanese food circuit. I had the gyro plate, and the meat was cut into large strips which is different than what I’m used to seeing cut into small pieces. The hummus on the side was tasty and the salad was just okay. My dads dish had grilled tilapia and it was sort of bland and dry. He didn’t like it. Portions are large– you definitely won’t be leaving hungry! P. s. Changed the review from three stars to four bc of the vegetarian plate I ordered the next day. YUM!!! You can order five vegetarians side selections and I couldn’t even finish the plate. I recommend the falafel, spinach pie, and grape leaves..(Don’t come on a Sunday night as workers take off and there’s only one guy who mans the counter, acts as waiter, and busboy…20 minute wait!)

I don’t write a lot of reviews, if that tells you anything. I have to really love it or really hate it to take the time. In this case, REALLYLOVEDIT. This was the best Mediterranean/Lebanese food I’ve ever had. The chicken shawarma was absolutely incredible(so tender and could not have been better flavored than it was), as was the Greek salad, rice, and hummus. I will definitely make this a regular stop when I’m in St. Francisville!

THE best Chicken Schwarma anywhere! Actually EVERYthing is good: Meat Moussaka, Baba Ganoush, Grape Leaves, Hummus, Lamb Kebabs, Greek Salad, Baklava. I usually get take out. They make a Chicken Schwarma Pasta that is delicious and great for a dinner party.

Al Aqaba is a treat in the town of St. Francisville. We had the Al Aqaba meza, which is like a sampler platter. We ordered it for 3 and it was a ton of food so I also had plenty for lunch the next day. The meat is moist and delicious and the kibbi is killer. The prices are on par with any of the Lebanese places in Baton Rouge too, so no complaints there. I recommend this place to anyone in town or just passing through.
