I’ve been to Hendrick’s a few times now and I would love to give it 5 stars, but I don’t think it deserves it! I want to love it. The meat I would give 5 stars. The sauce I would give 4.5 stars. But, I think the sides are just lacking. There seems to be a problem with even knife cuts and inconsistent seasoning as well. This time, my mom had a giant uneven slice of tomato on her burger and the kitchen forgot to put the cheese on it. I love the corn casserole, but it can sometimes be dry, and this time it was lacking salt. The other sides I’ve experienced are the collard greens which were good, but I just don’t think I like collard greens. The baked beans were 5 star worthy. The sweet potato fries were cold and needed a lot more salt. They also were unevenly cut so some were more like chips and others were like fries. The creamed spinach was a little rich for me. I prefer my spinach a little less mushy and weighed down by heavy sauce. I’ve also tried the deviled eggs which were good. They’re super tangy and heavy on the mustard though, so if you don’t like mustard, you won’t like them. Overall, I like this place. The atmosphere and decoration is great. The smell is divine! I love the meats and the sauces! I just think they could do a little better on the sides. How hard is it to salt the food and cut it nicely?

Brisket was a little dry but the sides were great! The greens were delicious, corn casserole moist and flavorful. I love the fries and unique ranch. We also had the BBQ Nachos — PHENOMENAL.

Chicken, Chicken, Chicken in a Biscuit, sweet potato fries and mac & cheese one of the best things at this BBQ place. Go figure! Fun place and only BBQ on Mainstreet St. Chucky Cheese!

I was expecting great things after all I have heard about it, how ever I was truly disappointed. Ordered the St. louis rib lunch, quarter slab and three sides, I chose mac&cheese corn casserole, and greens. The food came out semi on time. they measure there ¼ slabs different than I do. A small ¼ and three extremely small sides, non being hot at all, one of my big pet peves corn caaserole was dry and flavourless, mac&chesse made with rigatoni noodles extremely boring, and greens were equally with out flavor, in fact not sure why I gave it one star may be because the building was fairly unique oh ya ribs were not hot either and non descript rub

Food was ok. Seemed to lack flavor. Potato salad was blah. They forgot to use our free Appetizer Unilocal coupon. But since husbAnd checked us out I shouldn’t complain. But it was a slow Sunday so not sure why. Lots of other options on the river front to try. So in general not great but not horrible.

You mean I have to give you at least one star? I had to park in the casino parking lot with no lines for parking… Passing thru the smokers lounge downstairs was disgusting. If you are going to herd the classless nicotine suckers, at least cage them on the other side of the entrance, but to make a non-smoker thread the needle between smokers shuts this place down completely… Oh yeah, the food… On a scale of one to ten, I’d give it a three… I’ve traveled the country, and have had BBQ in many states. This place reminds me of a chain joint, trying not to be a chain joint. No taste, sauce was bland, and overall was an unremarkable dinner. I will not be back. I will not recommend you to anyone wanting BBQ in the St. Charles area. Sorry, you loose…

I have to admit, this place competes with anything in the STL area in terms of BBQ. The service was excellent and it had great food/experience to match. Everybody I spoke to was polite and thankful for us coming in. In my opinion this was the best overall food and service of any STLBBQ spot I have been in. My only«complaint» would be parking, but having to walk for a minute was WELL worth it.

I really enjoyed this place. The food was really good; get you some of those nachos to start and split the multi meat platter with someone so you can get a taste of everything. There BBQ sauces were good but nothing to special, i enjoyed their original the best. The service was good and the ambiance was really nice.

It was my birthday and I just wanted some good BBQ close to home. Now the décor of the restaurant isn’t the most appealing but, the food, service and drinks were wonderful. As soon as i walked in i was greeted by a very friendly hostess named Michelle. Also the bartender(I sat at the bar) was very helpful showing me the specials and make sure I had everything i needed to pick out a great meal. I recommend the smoked pork and turkey combo. The meat is so tasty and you have many BBQ sauces to choose from to add even more flavor. They have great sides! The cheddar grits and BBQ beans were out of sight and there are many more to choose from. This is a great place whether you’re hiding out relaxing on your birthday or a nice dinner out with family or friends.

This place lives up to ALLLLLLLLL the hype! They are vegetarian friendly and clean with a wonderful and attentive staff! This place is a great place for my meat eating friends and I to have a great time together! The decorations are also super cute!

Great atmosphere, food was delicious and well priced! The bar setting was our favorite — the bartender really cared and he gets 5 stars for customer service and keeping his guests happy! If you are in town check them out, you will not be disappointed!

Came here with two friends on a Saturday night and the place was pretty busy. The Unilocal app had a free appetizer if you check in, so we were able to use that! The pork empanadas and shrimp and grits appetizers were so good!!! I also tried the sangria, which was also really good!!! My friends told me the bbq nachos were their favorite and the portion was pretty big, so i got that as my entrée. And they were really yummy! This place was great and i definitely want to bring my family here.

I’m writing this review with an unfair comparison to Sugarfire BBQ, Bogarts BBQ etc. I think St. Louis has some places that do BBQ really well, and unfortunately Hendricks is not one of them. A group of us ordered multiple items and we collectively said«meh». It wasn’t that it was bad, but after trying the BBQ at the places I mentioned above, it wasn’t on the same level.

Awesome décor. Really cool bathrooms. Some of the BBQ sauces are a bit watery but the meats were VERSy tender and flavorful. Loved the coleslaw and sweet potatoe casserole. The 4 of us in the group gave a 4.5 rating overall but since I am doing the review I give a strong 5 stars!

Came to this place as recommended by a friend. I tried the brisket and the only thing I can say it that is good. The sides with my food where really bad, the Smoked BBQ beans looked and felt more like mashed potatoe, and the cole slaw was something different. I have tried several different Coles slaw salads some sweets and some salty, this one has a salty flavor but not to much, it was different and tasted not bad. My experience today was not to bad but not too good either. I will give them a 3 stars because the brisket was well seasoned and the sauces were ok. Regarding drinks not too sure as the beers I tried where not to good, neither cold enough for me. The Jacob’s Mule drink was good but not enough to justify $ 9 dollars.

Sometimes you want to go to a place to just be yourself and have some comfort food. This is that place, from the home made mashed potatoes in their individual mini iron frying pans to the beer served in mason jars, this place is far from pretentious. The sandwiches and two sides are generous, but a few of them cost an extra buck. It is easy to recommend their house bar-b-q sauce, and the hot is not that hot really. The sweet is really full of molasses, a good thing if you are also drinking sweet tea. They also have quite a selection of sippin bourbons. I love bar-b-q, but I also love Friday Catfish night. they have a blue plate schedule every night except Saturday and free wireless to boot. Parking is a little tough, but hey, what isn’t worth a tiny walk from a block away where it opens up a bit. I take my jeep so that there are more parking options. Show up, eat up, be satisfied.

Please note: you cannot get certain items on the lunch menu that you normally get on the dinner menu.(E.g. shrimp and grits, and also cornbread.) I am confused as to why they do not have cornbread all the time. Seems like it would be easy to make, but IDK, maybe it’s a pain? :( Also: consistency issues. Seems like it depends on who the cook is that night but I feel as though I have a large enough sample size of visits to Hendrick’s to determine that they cannot seem to maintain consistency. E.g. the grits are either extremely watery/runny and crunchy, or they’re really puffy, light, delicate, and fluffy with the right amount of cheese in them(the latter is my preferred variant.) And the sauce that comes with the grilled chicken sandwich(Remoulade sauce) is either realllly spicy or kinda bland. I prefer it not spicy, but I suspect they can’t change it once a batch is made for the day. Kind of a shame because I really love coming here. The service has gotten much better, by far, but the food is never consistently the same, so I have to give really explicit instructions when ordering or I won’t know what to expect. Alas.
