Outstanding craft drinks. Our bartender was fantastic and also gave us some in sight on other local places to hang out. We had the Florida mule which is A+ in my book and would recommend it to anyone. We stopped in here while we were waiting for the distillery tour to begin. If you are visiting St. Augustine, I would place this on the must visit list.

Read amazing reviews online and heard this was the place not to miss in St. Augustine and they were right! We came around lunch time on Saturday and they had a full house. I ordered the Lolita which was one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. It was super light and refreshing. I asked to add shaved ice because it was typically served up but I definitely couldn’t go to the ice plant without trying the ice. With that it was like a slushy. We also got an old fashioned which was awesome and came with a hand chipped little ice block. The amount of TLC going into each drink(and ice!) was awesome and I can’t wait to come back to try more.

The Ice Plant was hands down the most amazing meal. Ever. My boyfriend took me for my birthday dinner– we enjoyed nice, fresh cocktails and a delish cheese board. Oh, and the ginger carrot soup– to die for! Followed by steak and a burger for dinner, which were both fresh, tasty, cooked to perfection and beautifully displayed. And then there’s the sweet potatoes, which is sweet and warm to a crisp, heavenly desert. YUM. Atmosphere is super loungey and chill, beautiful old building with a rustic, industrial feel. You must try the Ice Plant!

I dream of the FOODANDDRINKSWITHTHATFRESHTASTE – I didn’t even think cocktails could get a ‘fresh taste.’ For one, WITH A NAMELIKEICEPLANTYOUCAN’T ESCAPETHEICE. My Charlie Brown cocktail had a large round ice. Fascinating science behind that but anyway you could TASTETHECOMPLEXITIESOFTHECOCKTAIL. Argh I don’t know how to describe it! Even each part of the food complemented each other in subtle tastes and textures. Naturally my Fiancée was enamored by the DÉCORWHICHCONSISTEDOFSHOWINGOFFTHEORIGINALFACTORYPARTS. Gave it a true industrial feel but also felt like we were in a secret setting. Makes sense because of the SPEAKEASYSETUPBAR.

WHEREDO I BEGINONTHECREATIVITY? = The décor — factory set up with exposed cement walls, pipes and beams. Beautiful in its revival of a forgotten building without losing sight of its history. The drinks — who still pays attention to carving Ice from large blocks? Crazy! The food — even the presentation is simple yet beautiful in letting each individual component get visibility. EDIBLEART = Their Craft Cocktails extend for many pages – and you can tell the drinks weren’t listed there just as fillers to attract a crowd seeking alcohol… actual craft will be placed into your order. The ‘Charlie Brown’(Apple Brandy, St. George spiced Pear, bitters & clove) blew me away with its layers of flavor. I ATETHEFOODANDCLOSEDMYEYES = Each little chunk of Fish in their Tartare gave a little poof of sea flavor. This plus its softness was accompanied well by the crunchiness of the greens and the sharp Citrus rinds. Their Florida Stew was comforting in flavors and was stuffed with large chunks of Meat.

This place is in the same building as the St. Augustine Distillery. When we planned our trip to St. Augustine we knew this is where we would eat lunch after our distillery tour. The food was decently priced, gourmet and very tasty. I had the Bistro Steak Sandwich which was delicious. It had a fried egg, sweet peppers and arugula. The steak was tender and did not come pull out with each bite which happens a lot with steak sandwiches. My girlfriend had the Shrimp Cake Sandwich which was also very good. The shrimp cake was flavorful, crispy on the outside and tender inside. I also ordered a Florida Mule, after taking the distillery tour how can you not order this cocktail? Local St Augustine Vodka, ginger, lime and mint in a classic copper mug. This drink was fresh, cold and STRONG. You get your moneys worth with their strong cocktails thats for sure. The staff was very friendly, constantly recommending drinks/plates and she was very knowledgable about every dish and helped us decide what to order. Ice Plant hostess is downstairs but the dining area is located on the second floor. Once you walk up you will see the beautiful old school bar and large seating area. Its a very personal and cozy restaurant!

I had an amazing dinner here. My husband and I split the shrimp ceviche that comes with pickled mango, avocado, and leche de tigre(citrus-based marinade). I enjoyed the ceviche and only wish it had come with an extra piece of bread or two. The other dish we split was the burger that comes with grass-fed Georgia beef, bacon-chive aioli, lettuce, tomato, onions, house pickle, and a side of fries with the truffle oil and parmesan cheese. This was a bit on the pricey side, especially since there is a $ 2 fee for the oil and cheese topping. However, this burger was probably the best burger I’ve ever had. We ordered it medium rare and it was a bit more on the rare side but I savored every single bite. Super delicious! We went for an early dinner around 5:30ish so they had happy hour going on. I enjoyed the classic daiquiri for only $ 6. The bar is really pretty and connected to the St. Augustine Distillery. Service was great and I really enjoyed my visit!

Drinks: VERY strong — you feel you’re getting your money’s worth. Which is a good thing, because they are a bit pricey. Lots of parking but VERY cramped. Not too inconvenient to park along one of the other streets around. Vibe: very trendy. I love establishments that have a warehouse feel. We came with a large group of gals(10 – 15), and still had room to hang on a holiday/Saturday night. Only had a couple appetizers among us, but the fish dip was amazing! Staff: friendly, but perhaps a little snoody. You’re in St. Augustine, not Manhattan. Smile a bit! But not so bad that I wouldn’t come back.

Holy goodness, there is no way to describe how amazing this restaurant is without actually experiencing it for yourself. My boyfriend & I got there on a Sunday around 2:45 and were informed they weren’t serving lunch(not sure if that’s the norm) but had a few small plates and dinner would be available at 4. We had no issues and were promptly seated. I wish I remembered our servers name because he was phenomenal, as in answered every single one of our(ok, my) questions about the drinks, food, history of the location and even other good spots around town. The drinks. 5 stars! I got the mule and Lolita, as a mule fan it was arguably the best I’ve ever had. I tried the Lolita then had to switch back because it was that good. My boyfriend tried 3 whiskeybourbon concoctions and a fourth our server recommended off the menu and loved them all. The food. Amazing. So amazing. We ordered the pasta dish and the shrimp polenta. Thankfully I was stuffed from my drinks and the pretzel small plate we ordered and was able to box up half of it. I would’ve easily tried everything on the menu given the chance. If you’re actually still reading this, just go to Ice Plant and experience this wonderful establishment for yourself!

I love the building and was very excited to try the Ice Plant for lunch after enjoying the distillery tour. I do like that you can order drinks with various ice options, but the drink I ordered«The White Rabbit», was served with regular crushed ice like you would get from a soda machine. I ordered this one because it was made with vodka, but also had other mixers that made the drink taste medicinal. So I was not too fond of my drink choice and felt it was a little overpriced. The food was delicious however. I had the shrimp cake sandwich which was really good and my guest had the shrimp and grits. The server had recommended the house made chips and while they were alright, they were a little too salty and greasy to really enjoy. I will probably give them a second try but made my own drink and food selections more carefully next time.

An outstanding place to come for cocktails in St. Augustine! Everything here is quality and the bartenders take time to make each drink with care. My favorite was the Judy Preist — a little on the sweeter side. My friend loved the Charlie Brown drink. A great spot!

Huge beautiful space, tall ceilings, authentic industrial space with some slight modern touches. Located right next to the distillery, which I didn’t get to check out. We popped in for some evening cocktails and ambiance and we got it. Brian our Bartender was awesome. Super cool and charming. The Lolita cocktail was PERFECT — I could drink that all night. Staff would walk by and greet us and one even chatted us up for a while. They were all dressed in 1920s style clothing was which I found pretty cool. Great service all around. This place is great for a group of friends chilling and having drinks. I could def see this as an event space as well. Didn’t get to try the food but all the plates looked and smelled delicious. Would love to come back to try it out.

Perhaps it’s because I’ve been binge watching«The Roosevelts: an intimate history» by Ken Burns that had me jonesing to check out the Ice Plant for myself. Same era as FDR and Eleanor. I appreciated the retro industrial chic of the building. Liked that they left some heavy metal components of the plant in place(like the beams). Liked the old truck and the approach to the building itself. Hostess service was meh but Kevin, our server, was great. Friendly and attentive without being over eager and intrusive. Lunch fare was fresh and tasty. There was a nice twist to every dish that raised it from average good to memorable good. Grilled cheese was Brie with strawberry marmalade. My picky 13 year old swooned over it and he swoons for no one and nothing. The eldest actually slowed down to savor his bahn mi sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised with the lamb meatballs & Greek yogurt. The salad was interesting. It had lightly pickled ingredients and my teenager said it was the best salad he’s ever had and he’s not really a salad fan. I would’ve included photos but battery at 1%. The cocktail was expertly made with the proper balance of mix to liquor ratio. Kids and I loved the house made kettle chips. Not an extensive menu but what they had was done nicely. Overall, the Ice Plant was a cool way to spend MLK Day. If only it were closer, I’d come for the cocktails regularly. Since it’s not, I’ll have to content myself with the memory of a lovely meal in an Ice Plant and make future plans to go without kids. It’s a great looking place with great looking drinks. I plan to work my way through the production line eventually. It’s good to have goals.

I am so sorry that I haven’t reviewed this place sooner. Sometimes I go to places so often and love them so much I always just think I’ve already done it. The Ice Plant(along with the St Augustine Distillery) is one of my favorite locations/experiences in all of Florida. and I’m a Florida native. This place just overall makes me proud of our state and the great job these local guys are doing. I’ll try to resist reviewing the Distillery here though and stick to the Bar/Restaurant itself. This place HASITALL! If you only read one thing in this long review, read that YOU’VEGOTTOTRYTHISPLACEOUT. The ATMOSPHERE is perfect. It’s stark, concrete, industrial vibe fits perfectly with the distillery and the waitstaff and the food/drinks. It’s so trendy and the bar is extremely well done. Everything is picturesque and it makes you feel happy just sitting down for dinner in such a well designed and executed space. The SERVICE is also top notch. Everyone is so professional but super friendly and helpful. They really hire exceptional people here! The FOOD&DRINKS are amazing! I’ve never had a meal I didn’t like. I really like their fries, the pretzel bread appetizer with the sauces, the shrimp & grits, etc etc etc. And their old fashioned is one of my favorite in the state! Because they do all their own spirits the drinks really are incredible. I would drive all the way here from Orlando just to have a couple of drinks. I seriously want to meet these owners, shake their hands, and tell them how thankful I am for what they’re doing here! It’s superb.

I love everything about this place. We casually strolled in after going to the San Sebastián winery close by. The tour at the distillery closes at 5 but the store is open until 6. We were lucky enough to meet a gentleman still handing out samples. We tried the vodka, gin and rum. The vodka wasn’t my jam. But the rum and gin were both really good. The gin was really smooth. We went upstairs after for a drink and had the best Moscow mule ever. Really, it was divine. We had quite a few throughout our night. For appetizers, we ordered the mushroom soup(out of this world delicious!), begnits, and ye steamed clams. Afterward we ate dinner and had the shrimp and polenta. Also really freaking good. This will definitely be a go to place for me!

Y’all, this one was an experience. Six of the family decided to take a day trip to St. Augustine and now I know why Trip advisor RAVES about this place. Before you go get some delicious appetizers and drinks, take the FREE tour of the distillery. It was quick and had a lot of near information ANDDD free sampling of their in house made rum, gin, and vodka! Although, our tour guide yelled, a lot. Really the only downfall. I get it, projecting your voice is important in the mass tour industry, but gracious, you’re going to need a voice implant if you don’t rest those suckers. I don’t know about y’all, but I enjoy gin, but this gin isn’t like any other gin because rather than removing the juniper berries, they keep em! So it doesn’t taste like typical washer fluid like many folks think, heck, even my sugary sweet mother liked it! The Ice Plant Bar was an absolute delight. We arrived just in time for happy hour(6 buck cocktails!) and they do not skimp out by any means. I enjoyed a tasty bees knees which was gin, honey, and lemon. Basically, a real refreshing lemonade with a kick! If you’re there, get the pretzel rolls. Like I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love crispy, buttery, but soft on the inside goodness, so you have no excuse not to try them. The fish dip is fishy. Plain and simple. If you don’t like the taste of smoked tuna then swim on past this one when ordering cause that’s exactly what it is. The bar + restaurant are actually in the old ice plant so it has this wonderful, industrial feel. And of course for the holidays, tastefully decorated with a wreath and Christmas lights. Yes, to all the Christmas, all the time. I kept imagining myself in the prohibition era, sneaking out the ice plant for a late night gin and tonic… The bar tenders and servers also had very, very well maintained beards so, that just made the experience alllll the better. Bravo.

Y’all, I don’t think it gets much better than The Ice Plant. I was in St. Augustine for a night and stopping by here was a priority. We had heard a lot of good things from friends who have visited so I had to try it. We weren’t really in the mood to sit at a table and have a full on meal so we asked if we could sit at the bar which the hostess said was cool. We were really lucky because, as soon as we walked up to the front bar 2 people were getting up so we got a bar stool right in the middle of all the action. I loved watching the bartenders make drinks(everything looked so good!). We got a menu for drinks and small bites and were good to go. I got the Clockwork Orange and Donovan’s Reef. It was agreed that Donovan’s Reef was the ‘winner’ cocktail of the night but everything was delicious. We tried the smoked fish dip and blue crab beignets to snack on. Both were great, but the fish dip was the real star for me. The atmosphere was great, drinks and food outstanding, and staff so helpful and friendly. I can’t wait to come back to St. Augustine just so I can try more at The Ice Plant!

We stopped here after the distillery tour and are so happy we did. The drinks are amazing! I had the Lady Killer and my husband had the Old Fashioned. Both were poured to perfection. However, where I was surprised was how AWESOME the food is! The grilled cheese(yes, a grilled cheese) was up on the best things I have ever eaten. It had a jam on it that brought out the sweetness of the cheese(mozzarella/brie). Husband had the fish tacos and there was enough fish for 4 tacos! Absolutely wonderful! You must go here if you get the chance! Great atmosphere too! Love the theme!

Man, sometimes you eat somewhere and you just look at whoever you’re with and go, «What a meal!» Our dinner at the Ice Plant last night was one of those times! It was amazing and the restaurant is beautiful, it’s situated in a gorgeous old warehouse building that’s been done over and has a very vintage Speak Easy kind of vibe while still somehow feeling warm and welcoming. Both bars were picturesque and beautiful but we were seated at a small little table against the wall that was a little more intimate. Our server was lovely! I can’t remember his name unfortunately but he was a sweet guy with great suggestions and was hospitable and attentive. We started with the Blue Crab Beignets and the Dates both of which were fabulous! The dates were great but the Beignets were out of this world good, you have to order at least one order! I had the Ladykiller which was a wonderful grapefruit concoction that was refreshing with a bit of sweetness and my girlfriend had the High Noon which we described as fall in a glass plus bourbon, yum. Our entrees were fabulous, my girlfriend had the steak which was cooked perfectly and paired with a salsa verde that went well with it. I had the Gnocchi which was love at first bite, order it! They were bigger gnocchi than I expected but they were perfect, light & fluffy. We stuffed ourself to capacity with the Blood Orange Crème Brûlée and some kind of delectable pie. All around, from start to finish, this place was amazing. It would be an awesome place for a big group or an intimate dinner. I would love to have a private event here one day!

This review is only for the drinks— We arrived at the distillery next door for a rehearsal dinner and we were too early so we decided to go next door to the Ice Plant and grab a drink. Immediately upon entering there’s such an awesome vibe that makes this a «cool» spot. The décor is awesome and well thought out. There’s two bars, so you can grab a seat or wait on the outside bar. The service was slow but it was a Saturday night so that could have been why. I love Moscow miles and the Ice Plant makes a killer«Florida Mule». I will be back!
