Felt like a part of the family the moment we walked in the door. Great concept. Willie is an amazing tour guide. Very informative. A lot of thought and planning went into this place. Only thing I would change is in the tasting room, just serve the vodka and gin straight up. So we can taste your product without it being masked by cocktail fixings. We asked for just that, and wound up buying a bottle of vodka. Fantastic!

Thanks, Karen for the great tour! Very informative, fun and the samples were yummy! It was a very large number of people in our tour group. Would have liked a few less. Great time.

We got Karen for our tour and she did an amazing job. The tour is free for the public and I get to sample three drinks. Florida mule(my fav of the 3), gin tonic, and pineapple rum. They have tour every 30 mins until 5pm. Parking is also free and there was plenty of space. The gift shop was well organized and straight to the point. If you want to make the replica of any sample drinks, they have sections with recipe on top and ingredients you need at the bottom. I love making drinks so I bought ingredients for the Florida mule. I did make it at home and it was delicious. Definitely recommend.

Awesome place with top quality spirits! So good to see Florida putting out some high quality bourbon, rum, vodka and gin. This is a must-see if you’re in St. Augustine.

This was my second I’m trips to a local craft distillery and as like the last one, I came away quite impressed. Our tour guide, Kelly, was very knowledgable on the products and the processes that go into making them, and how everything is locally produced, making the distilling process a much more locally impactful Place. To top it all off, all the liquors were quite tasty, especially the gin. This is a great place, so I can see why it is #1 on trip advisor!

Cut place, but touristy, but all good. The place is adorable and the tours are informative. They have some super tasty spirits and a great gift shop.

Others have already properly covered their story in their reviews. The only disappointment was during the tasting the spirits were with a mixer. Straight up is the only way to truly appreciate the craft quality. Wish we had that option.

This is the third distillery tour and so far, they’re all distinctly different and emphasize different features. St. Augustine Distillery stands out for it’s commitment to local goods and services. It also has abroad range of products including gin, vodka, rum with bourbon soon to arrive. People love the tasting experience and yet I found that I was left wanting more from this business. They served us a few mixed cocktails in a small glass whereas I would have expected /preferred to taste the spirits without any mixers. The tour is historically informative and we learned about the distillery’s plan to revitalize local sugar cane growers, other flavor additives that are local, casks made locally or if not, then made in the USA. The distillery itself is a renovated ice plant from the 1800s. Great looking labels.

Free Tour! My girlfriend and I were briefly in St. Augustine and looking for a fun/short/alcohol-infused activity. This was perfect. They have free tours running constantly of their very new distillery. While, when it comes down to it, the tour is effectively a 20 minute sales pitch for their alcohol, it was very enjoyable and our guide was great. They gave out some small free samples of their unique G&T(better than any that I’ve ever tried) and the Florida Mule. The Florida Mule is a great take on a standard Moscow Mule and was absolutely the highlight of the tour. Like any smart marketing move, the exit is through the gifts shop.

Overall, the tour and tasting blew me away, especially for such a new and small facility. The distillery has only been in operation for two years, but already it’s becoming famous throughout the state of Florida. Many of the bars back home in Tallahassee stock St. Augustine spirits, particularly the gin. The tour was informative, emphasizing the history of the distillery building and the distilling process, and led by a wonderful guide. She also mixed the drinks for everyone at the end, which were delicious. Although the tour was short, I can see so much room for expansion here, especially when the bourbon is able to be tapped in the fall. Thank you St. Augustine Distillery and keep up the good work!

Why 5 stars? Because this was my favorite distillery tour ever! — — — And for that matter, I’d say it was my favorite alcohol-related tour ever, which would include any breweries. What’s not to like? The building, the people, and the taste of the samples were all perfection across the board. The building and stylings within the building are seriously as good as it gets. They nailed modernizing a classic look, to a T. Our tour guide was great, as was our bartender during the tasting portion of the tour. But even better than a personality, was his ability to make drinks. I have never enjoyed gin, but the gin drink that he made was absolutely unbelievable. I was *this* close to buying all the ingredients to make these things at home… but I knew that it would likely sit in our pantry for at least half a decade, because I’m just not a cocktail guy. But it was damn delicious, nonetheless. Seeing the labor that goes into one of these drinks, really makes you appreciate mixologists even more. The gift shop was superb, as well. I wanted to buy almost everything in there, but settled for just one item — the St Augustine Distillery coasters. We have a few different coasters in our house,(because F condensation, right?) but these are our favorite. I’d recommend anyone visiting the distillery on your next trip to St. Augustine. This was definitely one of the standouts for me.

Completely enjoyable tour! There’s a good reason St. Augustine Distillery gets so many positive reviews. It’s a fun tour with enthusiastic staff members that don’t let you get bored. Once you wind your way through St. Augustine proper, you will find free parking in the Distillery’s lot. You wait in a small museum area that is well appointed with displays of the history of the building and area. Don’t make the mistake of leaning on the huge piece of equipment toward the back/middle of the room, because you will end up with black streaks on your white sweater like a few women did. The sampling area is a great experience and the bartender is a true maestro of distilled spirits. The tour ends at the bar(complete with samples of the distillery’s wares) and then you are shuffled into the gift shop(trendy!) … at that time, you will have to ascend a small group of stairs. These will be the only stairs you will encounter and I am putting this in for those of you who may have some trouble walking. The«gift shop» was very, very crowded(but I guess thats the point.) The Distillery is well worth your time if you have a short visit in St. Augustine

First, let me start by saying… Mark is an amazing tour guide! When you visit, if you can get him, YOUWANTMARK! There’s nothing about the place that he doesn’t know! Trust me, I tried him! Great tour! Loved hearing the history of the building and the story behind the start of the distillery! So nice to see a local business supporting and promoting shopping local! The staff was very friendly and the gift shop is well stocked! Definitely a «to-do» for tourists and locals alike! Great outing indeed!

Cool & unique place. This distillery makes alcohol«the old way.» You can take a free tour(they fill up quickly, so plan accordingly) and taste the liquor they make and sell. We opted to skip the tour — you can check out their mini museum room and gift shop(which includes a tasting area) without subjecting yourself to the tour. Their wares make for great gifts and souvenirs. I recommend pairing this stop with lunch at the Ice Plant — another must do.

Not far from the distillery lies the winery. The tours are often as they lead you inside the winery then into a large cellar with u-shaped table to fit about 30 patrons. Then you get to choose the wines you want from a large list, about 8 pours in total and you choose from 2 different wines each pour. Such efficiency to move herds of people visiting. The wines were great and very affordable. Value 5⁄5 Atmosphere 4⁄5 Service 4⁄5 Quality 4⁄5 17⁄20

This is a must stop whether you’re in St. Augustine or driving anywhere near it! It is an amazing place with history– fitting quite well into the city– and the product they put out is superb! I have stopped here on my last two visits simply because we just love this place. The tours are free and very informative. The last time we went Gavin was our tour guide and he rocked it. He was energetic and very informative and you felt his love for their products. You first start with a little video about the company and how it started and you see how they locally source their materials for all their spirits. After that they take you to their distillery and show you how the process for making all their delicious libations come to fruition. Right now they have rum, vodka(my personal fave), and gin. They already started the aging process for bourbon and it will be ready in late 2016. They give you a free tasting of their gin and vodka which are simply amazing. The end of the tour as you well know ends in their gift shop and you will buy something. I say you will because you will love everything about this place– the history, the story, the people– and you will leave with something. Make sure to stop into the Ice Plant next door for some amazing and innovative libations!

No way am I surprised to see a five star rating, because St. Augustine Distillery manufactures some of Florida’s best spirits while maintaining a local sense of community. As for the tour itself, it’s short and sweet. Literally. It’s the shortest distillery/brewery tour I’ve ever been on. I would like to see them expand on the history of the brand and the ice plant building in the future. But the tour guide, mixologist, and some other important St. Augustine rep were passionate and true professionals. Like I said earlier, it comes back to the product. And St. Augustine owns the Florida scene. Gin and vodka might be their top sellers, but I can see their Rum taking off. It’s really THAT good. Takeaways: Free tours with free samples. Beautiful facility with rich history. Really really good alcohol. Counting down the days until bourbon and whiskey!

The epitome of support local. Go here and do the free tour and then be warned of how much you will want to take home from the gift shop(read cocktail heaven)! Handcrafted Small Batch Spirits; Whiskey, Rum, Gin & Vodka. Need I say more? Ok, fine, then let me spew the amazingness at you: How they came about, «…with access to locally grown sugar cane, wheat, corn, and citrus, we could develop a finer quality spirit than just about any other place in the world…» heck yes! This is exactly what they did and if you visit to do a free tour, you will learn all about this. – First, the building, a 1927 industrial building that used to be an ice factory… just stunning. – The free tour is super informative and if you are lucky, Larry will be your guide. Funny, entertaining and super knowledgeable. There is a short movie and while it’s not the best quality and the sound is really hard to hear at time, you discover that a key part in this distillery involves local farmers and learning what they could grow to help them make spirits. Local designers make the labels and on some of them, they feature the farmers. Adore that. The tours happen every 30 minutes and are complimentary and first-come, first-served. – The equipment is so cool and they care so much about it, they make sure they are named. So, you will meet Bessie and Ella! The bottling center is very small but if someone is in there, you will be able to see the process. So very hands on. – The tasting room. After the tour, you get to head into a bar room and taste two of the feature cocktails. We had the Florida Mule and a Gin & Tonic. I purchased all ingredients in the store right after so that has to say something =) – The Store — right after the tasting room you are lead into the store. It’s adorable. Of course they carry a ton; Saint Augustine Bottled spirits(obvi), Books, cocktail tools, barware, décor, simple syrups, tonic syrup, and various other Florida made products. Such a darling store. You will walk away with things for yourself and others! Such a good gifting spot. – The Bathroom. I know, what the heck could be cool about the bathroom? EVERYTHING! It’s stunning, vintage, and actually enjoyable. The sink is a trough sink and I couldn’t stop staring. My must haves from the store: — Spirits — note that the distillery makes a much higher % when you purchase from them directly. They have made various labels so you can buy up to two bottles per label. WORD! — St. Augustine Distillery Florida Mule Mixer — Yes. Just Yes. At first I was a little concerned that you have to use within two weeks of opening this. At my house, this went in 3 days. I need to stock up like whoa next time. Delicious. — Strong Tonic Syrup + Bittermans Orange Cream Citrate — The very best Gin and Tonic tools around. So very smooth. Be careful tho, they go down like water. They define the flavor profile as an intricate array of sweet, spicy and bitter notes. Purely refreshing. — — - We went on a Thursday and had no wait for our tour at 4:30 and afterwards, we hit The Ice Plant(restaurant upstairs) and were seated immediately. What a lovely day in St. Augustine. I can’t wait to return!

Great free tour here! Glad we did it! The ceo was really nice too, and even signed people’s bottles. Tours are every 30 minutes and include free tastes of their gin, vodka, and rum. Bourbon is in barrels. won’t be ready til next fall the lady said. I wonder if she meant this fall? Or 2017? But you can sign up to be notified when it’s ready for purchase. Olivia, our tour guide, was pretty good — very knowledgeable and informative. Interesting sense of humor, but her personality and attire made for the whole story, almost as if you were back in the original days of the building. Love the museum-like room with information, and the informative video gives you a reason to back the brand. We don’t care for rum in general, but we liked the gin and vodka. Their store has lots of goodness, from different flavored bitters and mixers, to of course their booze, and cookbooks for recipes with booze. also cute keepsakes and kitchen items. .restaurant is great too!

Great little hidden place in Saint Augustine. This place has only been open just over a year, but they seem to have their act down pat. They are situated in the fully restored St Augustine old ice factory. They offer a free tour to the distillery with some samples in the end. It sounded a bit too good to be true to me, I was fully expecting it to be be free entrance to gift shop(lol) but no, it is fully free and it is great. Fun and educational! This company prides themselves in the fact they buy everything they can in Florida and what they cannot, they buy in the US. Very cool. They produce Rum, Gin, Bourbon and Vodka. Their bourbon isn’t ready yet, that’s how new they are. All in all, a very cool place, I was very impressed and had a lot of fun at the tour and got a little souvenir at the store.
