I rang in the 2016 new year at the Annual Beach Blast Off at the Saint Augustine Beach Pier and I must say I was very impressed. Very well planned event and such great fun. This event was free and included a Kids Zone Area with that included Face Painting, Carnival Rides, Mechanical Bull, Selfie Photo Booth & a Rock Climbing Wall. There were over Thirty Food Vendors + Champagne, Beer and Wine and live entertainment by the Rock band Papercutt, The event offered FREEPARKING/FREE SHUTTLES and a spectacular fireworks show to music. The Pier area was jam packed and the Saint Augustine police did a fantastic job keeping everyone safe. This is a must attend event and a highly recommended experience. Too much fun and hope to come again in the future.

Beautiful pier. The sand is actually very soft, comfortable to sit. The shops in the area are nice and the facilities are pretty nice as well, but we were actually here for the NYE beach bash so there was tons if extra stuff going on.

I love the beach! Who doesn’t? My hubby and I played in the surfs often during our vacation. The waves were very choppy, however, since there was a storm out in the Atlantic and St. Augustine felt the effects almost the entire week we visited. There were several surfers and it was entertaining to watch them. Not a lot of people on the beach(we parked at Pope Rd., by the pier, and on 10 St.) Public parking lots are free everywhere, no matter the time, but don’t park where it says prohibited. We also stopped by the Wednesday Morning Market at the pier. Awesome vendors with breads, paintings, crafts and cool beachy stuff. The pier is $ 1 to get on. There’s public bathrooms and a pavilion for concerts. The beach was a lot fun.

Beautiful! Came here for a weekend getaway to relax… and did just that. Nice waves, soft sand… and clean. Peaceful, even on a Saturday. There is a nice shop off the pier where you can rent 2 chairs and a umbrella all day for 20 bucks as well. just make sure you have your license with you as they hold it for the rental. My only gripe would be the condition of the restroom there… it was a bit grimey, my friend found it better to change in the gas station across the street. Overall would return again.

Without a doubt, one of the best beaches I’ve been in quite a while, ample parking, great water park to rinse the sand off once finished lounging on the surf. Beautiful White sands and great view of everything from the pier to ocean.

I love this beach! The sand is cleaner than Jax beach. It’s much more laid back. There isn’t a ’ fishy’ smell either. Living in Florida, you get to choose which beach you go to, I chose St. Augustine.

I was a little surprised that we had to pay to walk out on the pier, but it was worth the small fee! It offers a great view of the ocean and the beach.

This pier was erected in 1940 to attract tourist to St. Augustine and it has been a success ever since. You can only enter the pier by walking through the visitor“s center and paying your $ 1.00 which is good for the entire day the fees vary depending on if your fishing or not and they also offer weekly, monthly and yearly passes for a nominal fee. The design of this pier is quite unique with it’s elevation changes and bus stop like covered seating along the way to the end. I’d say this would be an excellent place to sip on your cup of coffee and watch the sun rise.
