Wide orange sand beaches that you can drive on and with decent waves for surfing, depending on how big you are. This is one of my favorite beaches in the world. It’s not the prettiest, but it is certainly one of the wider beaches. I love it here. Just bring plenty of provisions with you. You have no excuse not to when you can drive your car full of food and sunblock right onto the beach!

Great beach and not to crowded. There are no close bathrooms hence only 4 stars otherwise it is a great place to relax and enjoy the ocean.

I went on a Sunday on first day of daylight savings time. I was warned about it being spring break, and that it would be very crowded. Not true! I grew up in south Florida, where palm trees are the norm around the beaches(this means shady spots). Although there are NO shade trees(take umbrella), this beach is THE nicest I’ve seen in all of Florida, and I’ve lived here nearly all of my life, and have seen plenty. The beach horizon goes on forever, or so it seems. Lots of sand, and lots of SPACE, so no one is crowded on top of one another like in Miami. There was a bit of wave action, clean and gorgeous. The beautiful beach houses along the road, while seen from the beach, look like something out of a James Patterson novel — lovely! There are eateries nearby(I parked in public parking with no problem), but the more fun beach-type eateries were closer to the Pier as you drive through A1A. Great choice for the family. A truly spectacular beach. Don’t miss it!

I just moved here and we gave Crescent Beach a shot today. Without knowing where to go, I tried turning off the road when I saw a ‘beach access sign’ and found a parking lot with open spaces and outdoor showers. I am not aware of any fees that Deborah H mentioned… perhaps it depends on where in Crescent Beach one goes? For me, the beach itself was about the same as Neptune Beach(my only other local comparison) except I saw more green water in the distance and they kept a lane near the back for cars to drive on. I went on Labor Day and it was not really crowded. Water temp was perfect. There were surfers and a paddle boarder or two. Another difference is that the main street running along the coast is a lot closer to the beach itself.

Crescent beach has always been a favorite of mine. I like how the traffic is managed in one direction, making things run smoother and safer for all while also eliminating a lot of congestion. St. John’s co residents pay $ 6/car, and $ 8/car for all else. There were nice glassy waves today, and many enjoying surfing and swim, as well as SUP. I will definitely bring a canopy for shade next time, as well bikes & scooters as the sand is hard packed for the most part and perfect for lots of fun! What a beautiful beach!

Crescent Beach, in my opinion, is one of the nicest beaches on the east coast of Florida. Having frequented here since my childhood, maybe I’m biased towards it. .. But the beach is always clean, decent waves, and you can drive/park your vehicle on the beach! It’s so nice to be able to drive on the beach and how everything with you instead of having to park in a private lot, and carry coolers, towels, and whatever else the Mrs. feel is necessary to drag to the beach! There are usually plenty of spots to park and lay out, although the beach can get crowded during the holiday weekends, as is the case with any beach during that time. Crescent beach also has several older, but nice hotels to stay for a longer period of time. There are also several shops and convenience stores just outside the beach on A1A. If looking to spend a Saturday or weekend at the beach, definitely consider visiting crescent beach!
