Clarus Dermatology

When have you ever walked out of a doctor’s office and said «What a GREAT experience!?». I did that yesterday morning — swear to goodness.
Clarus’s office is easy to get to, brightly lit and pretty, and parking is a breeze. I was able to make an appointment less than a week beforehand. The desk staff and nurses were very nice, and very prompt. My appointment and my husband’s were right on time.
Dr. Shah was who I was especially impressed with though. He was down-​to-​earth and easy to talk to. He was very thorough but also had a minimalist approach to treatment which I really appreciate because I’ve been to dermatologists in the past who have hardly looked at me before they started writing many prescriptions — some of which I would find that couldn’t afford only after leaving the pharmacy — and who have been really quick to remove moles that, even by their admission, are probably nothing to worry about.
Photos of a couple of my moles were taken, and Dr. Shah said that we should check back in in a few months to see if they’ve changed at all before we worry about them. Great. He also put me on a prescription for acne that I’m very excited about. In his words: «it’s cheap, safe, and I’d put my wife on it before I’d put her on the other stuff you’ve been taking».
Additionally, for my follow-​up visit, the clinic offers virtual visits for $ 35 to save me the time and money of returning to the clinic. And, I was suggested to buy a body wash and a sunscreen and felt hesitant until I saw that the prices are posted so that it’s clear what you’re paying beforehand and very very reasonable.
I left feeling very comfortable that my handful of skin concerns were dealt with in a thoughtful, thorough manner — not overly medicated or treated. In the 36 hours since my appointment I’ve recommended Clarus to an almost silly amount of people. I was that impressed!

Clarus Dermatology is one of the BEST clinics here in the NW territory of the cities. Anything you need Dr. Shah and his team will take care of! They go above and beyond what you would expect from a dermatology office.

Wonderful experience! Dr. Shah was able to remove an unsightly brown spot on my face that several other physicians were unable to. His cosmetic results are phenomenal. He has a very friendly, down-​to-​earth demeanor, and his paramedical staff were very helpful. He also was running on time. I also greatly appreciate that he only hires board-​certified Mayo-​trained dermatologists. There can be a lot of variation in quality in other dermatology clinics in the Twin Cities as I have experienced. I will definitely send my friends here.

I followed Dr. Shah to Clarus Dermatology, I originally saw him at HealthEast in Maplewood, and I’m very impressed with his skills and practice. All of the staff at the Clarus office are extremely professional, prompt, and accomodating. I appreciate the fact that I don’t have to wait months to see him if I have a concern (and there are plenty of practices in the Twin Cities that will have you wait three months, even if you have an urgent issue). The building and parking a Clarus Dermatology is very convenient, located in a lovely shopping area in St. Anthony. I have seen Dr. Shah during three appointments, and he always makes me feel like all of my questions and concerns are worthwhile, taking the time to throughly explain my questions and the diagnosis layman’s terms. He has also helped me address my cosmetic dermatology concerns, providing honest feedback, while trying affordable treatment options before immediately jumping to the most expensive treatment.

Great place, wonderful staff and I loved Dr. Shah! I felt as if he would have spent as much time as needed with me.

Excellent experience. The clinic is brand new and very clean and the staff is professional/​efficient. Dr. Shah is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. It didn’t seem like he was rushing me through and provided a clear explanation of my ailment and potential causes. He recommended a medication which eliminated the problem within a few days.
