Yum Yum Bowl

Very good very fresh. The portions were supprisinh my large for the price. I highly recomend Yum Yum Bowl.

I’ve passed this place a million times but never thought twice. Finally decided to check it out. They have good prices and I would put the food among the best Chinese restaurants in Springfield.
I had the General chicken combo and egg drop soup. The best thing about the combo is it comes with 1 egg roll, 1 crab Rangoon, rice, and your entrée. Everything was hot and just cooked. Their general has a nice flavor unique from other places.
The place was clean and they make sure to clean off dirty tables quickly even though there may not be a wait.
The staff were all friendly and willing to meet your need. All and all this might be my new go to Chinese place. Yum Yum!

Very good. We had the noodle bowl with chicken. I really enjoyed the experience. The portions were comfy and filling. The taste were complete. The crab puffs were crunchy and warm. Overall a great restaurant for lunch or dinner. Yum!

We’ve been to the Yum Yum Bowl four times in the last couple of months. Once you get passed the underwhelming outside of the place, you’ll be delighted by the fast, friendly service and outstanding fresh food. We have order Springfield Cashew Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Chicken… every single dish was excellent. I’ve also had the lo mein Noodles with vegetables… again excellent! The only thing we haven’t been too impressed with is the rice; it is a little mundane and starchy sticky; get the lo mein noodles instead, you’ll be glad you did! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants awesome Chinese food!!! FYI… They are closed on Sundays. Enjoy!

This restaurant is my new favorite Asian food place!
The Sesame Chicken combo plate is delicious. I always get that with fried rice and two egg rolls. The chicken is very tender, juicy, lightly breaded, and full of flavor. The sauce that goes with it is sweet and very flavorful. Absolutely nothing is greasy. Including the egg rolls.
I sat at one of the high tables during lunch the other day and watched a cook in the kitchen hand cutting chicken breasts into pieces! So they do NOT get their chicken pre-​cut, pre-​breaded, and pre-​fried like some of the other Chinese restaurants do. Everything is cooked fresh.
Having lunch with some co-​workers, they had the «General Chicken» and really loved their meal as well.
I want to try their pork fried rice sometime also, but, the sesame chicken is so good, I just order that by default. :)
The workers always greet me with a big smile and a Hello/​Welcome. The cooks in the back are also very nice.
I have had no issues with a shortage of napkins, food being slow, or something tasting bad, as other reviewers have stated. They’ve obviously made changes since 2010/​2011,
The dining room is always clean, and I always leave happy and full. If you are considering the Yum Yum Bowl, I suggest you go and try it for yourself! Their food is wonderful!

Went here for lunch, got the Hawaiian chicken, with noddles and egg drop soup, also added some crab puffs. Everything came quickly through the drive-​thru and it was $ 10. I will definitely be going back to try some other menu items. It’s always scary getting Asian food from a new place in Springfield because there are so many to choose from!
This was a win in my book!

Food was decent. Service was quick. Price was pretty reasonable. Would visit again.

I have to give up on this place. Food is still good, but in the summer the dining room is an oven and in the winter it is an icebox. They have a wi-​fi router, but a worker told me that the owners will not pay for a bandwidth upgrade so patrons can use it as well. If you want extra napkins your only choice is the small square beverage napkins. This place cuts to many visible corners, which makes me wonder about the food quality. Not going back until they make some changes.

Cashew chicken was gross and very little flavor. I wasn’t impressed.

I have been there twice now since the change of management and the food is now HORRIBLE. I DO NOT recommend eating there. The rice is not fried and each time the chicken was either underdone or just not good! This was my regular Chinese food place, but now I’m looking for somewhere else. So disappointed. Ruined such a good thing.

I’ve been coming since they open (I live two blocks from there) and the food has gotten terrible… At first I thought it was chance, but it’s getting worse. 4 times in a row over a month or so… The food tastes old, it’s 100% the worst food I’ve had tonight and I won’t be back

This place was terrible… I ordered a combo plate with the general chicken and fried rice. The general chicken was just fried chicken which then had a ridiculous amount of slightly average sauce poured over it. The chicken might be good if it was actually cooked in the sauce and had soaked up some of that flavor… but it turned into a textural nightmare and quickly got soggy with the amount of sauce poured in.
The fried rice had a really weird taste to it… the only word which comes to mind is fermented. I’m not sure how rice could ferment or go sour, or what you could do to achieve that level of flavor, but needless to say I won’t be going back to ask… or to try my luck again.

The veggies in my noodles were black in spots. At first I thought they were grill marks but upon closer inspection the black spots continued through the broccoli. I stopped eating and pitched the rest, certain that I was going to be sick later. Thankfully I was not sick but I’m still nervous about giving it a second try.

Excellent chinese food at a very affordable price! Consistent every time, too. Highly recommend!

Better than a fast food hamburger for a reasonable price ($ 7 for dinner with hefty amount of food and two scoops of brown rice). Crab puffs (rangoons) are very, very sweet. Eggroll has meat and veggies.

I’ve been to Yum Yum Bowl once. I heard good things, but I found my food incredibly bland and my dining companion found a small piece of steel wool in her food. Steel. Wool. The scariest thing is, one of the other recent reviews ALSO complained of biting down on a piece of metal. What the hell is up with that? Is it that hard to keep metal out of food?

I had lunch there the other day, it was a Korean grilled steak with rice, veg, kimchee, and it was awesome. Inexpensive, and the place was immaculate!
Five out of Five! Im going back!

One of the best asian restaurants in springfield… its got the traditional general’s chicken and cashew chicken along with some other asian inspired cuisine… awesome food, great portions, wonderful value… also the restrooms are clean unlike alot of other places… get the kalbi… it’s freakin awesome…

Good food, cheap prices, and fast service is what you’ll find at Yum Yum Bowl. I do want to preclude this by stating this is NOT Asian food. You could possibly get by calling it Asian Fusion, but that’s about it. They have a few Korean, Hawaiian, Japanese, and Chinese inspired dishes, but this is not authentic.
I actually planned on nothing here being authentic and thusly wasn’t disappointed with my order. I ended up ordering the Kalbi beef and was extremely happy with the flavors. The kimchi was alright, although seemingly from a jar and not in-​house. They did give me a lot of me, but I think I had way too much rice for the portion I ordered.
This is a perfect little place to pick up lunch. I would most certainly come back when I’m in a rush for food and want something delicious and not your traditional fast-​food fare.

The name says it all! My family and I ate their for the first time this week, and I was very impressed with the high quality of ingredients, large portions, and reasonable prices.
We ordered three dishes: a pork dish, Teriyaki steak, and General Tso’s Chicken. The quality of the meat was excellent — more like what you would expect from a sit-​down restaurant, not a drive through.
After eating there, I did some research and saw that it’s owned by the same people who own Ocean Zen and 5 Spice Grill. That explains the high quality of food — it really was exceptional for the price.
