Price is good. The location is right by my house. Plenty of seats. The cashier was very friendly. I had the coconut chicken and my wife had the sweet and sour. This place would have gotten a perfect review if the sweet and sour chicken had been edible(it seemed more cardboard than chicken). Although it wasn’t to our liking, the portions are so large that the coconut chicken was easily split between the two of us. We were thinking that we would end up hating this place(my wife judges a place based on their sweet and sour chicken recipie), but the entrée that we split plus the amazing eggroll and crab rangoon were so excellent that we couldn’t help but fall in love. I’m going back right now to get some more coconut chicken. Addictive.

My first time dining here. The staff was super friendly the service was great. The prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area. The food was good, not great. The General Chicken was spicy which is a pleasant surprise. The portion was ample. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Huge portions, the prices and quality of food are also great. Our office always gets their food trays delivered by lightning delivery. I also like seeing the food being cooked, and seeing their whole their kitchen from the counter, brings peace of mind. My personal favorites are their; crab rangoon, general tso and sesame chicken. Although my all time favorite has to be the happy family! The happy family comes with 4 meats and several vegetables in a brown sauce, a meal fit for a king. We would also order for delivery to our house, its provided by the same delivery company I mentioned before. I didn’t see them on Unilocal,so I wanted to say something about their service. They cost a couple extra dollars, but they are worth it. The convenience of so many choices and the food shows up fast and hot every time. So from our family to yours, Chinese delivery on board game night is the best.

I based this solely off of the cashew chicken. I got a few pieces of chicken that were really chewy and were marginal if they were actually all white meat even though I paid extra for it. The sauce was extremely heavy on the oyster sauce and quite runny! As you can see in the picture. It was not horrible but definitely not the best. Try china wok. Loved that place!

Absolutely amazing! Probably the best crab rangoon in Springfield. Friendly staff and portion sizes are huge for the price. I had the general chicken and my girlfriend had the orange chicken. Both dishes were fantastic.

This place is by far my favorite Chinese place to eat. The cost isn’t bad at all for what portion you will receive.

Good price. Convenient location. Clean seating area. Friendly staff. The crab Rangoons were some of the absolutely best in time. My hot pepper chicken entrée’s chicken was very small, tough and heavily breaded. My husband General Tso’s chicken pieces were larger. Neither of us finished our entrees or wanted a to go container to keep what we did not eat.

Seriously the best crab ragoons in Springfield. They are so sweet and delicious. The general chicken is amazing also. We go all the time and we love it.

Happy China is one of my family’s favorite places to eat. It is affordable for a family of five and the food is great. I like eating there when my family and I are in town and are hungry, insted of going to an expensive resturaunt. It is very inexpensive and very good.

Visited on 1÷16÷2015. Chose this particular Chinese restaurant because my husband and I were hungry for Chinese food and Unilocal reviews were very positive. Oh. My. Goodness! The best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time! Their Crab Rangoon is the best I’ve ever eaten. I had the Lemon Chicken, which was sooooo delicious! Hubby had their Cashew Chicken and said it was very good, too. And priced very reasonable. Will be back as often as possible considering we live a ways away!

I lived in Springfield for a year and a half. I’ve now been in Kansas City for 4 years and have never come across Bourbon Chicken in a Chinese restaurant. Happy China’s Bourbon Chicken is fantastic!(I may take a road trip come spring…) Springfield is rife with Chinese offerings — most with drive-thrus — not something I was used to! I’ve eaten at many places there, but Happy China is easily my favorite. They also have my 2nd favorite in the world crab cheese rangoon. Sure, it’s next to a gas station! It’s Springfield. That’s just how it is.

I have to admit– this is a very torn review. I will try cashew chicken anywhere in hopes of finding the best in Springfield, because that means it is the best in the US. The cashew chicken here was very good– crispy chicken in a sauce that had just the right thickness but was no where near jello. Sides were pretty basic. Boyfriend had the sesame chicken, which I got a little excited for but of course stuck with my CC. One bite of the sesame chicken nearly sent me into a diabetic coma– holy sugar rush! It was cooked fine, but the sweetness of this dish made it impossible to eat as a full meal. I can’t say I recommend that specific dish, but several others on the menu looked tasty and we’ll be sure to try them.

I’ve been a patron at Happy China since they very first opened and they are my favorite Chinese food place around. I always see the same staff there and they’re always very friendly. I had an incredible experience trying the Singapore Mei Fun today. It was awesome! Usually I get an order of crab rangoon and house fried rice special. You may gawk at it being beside a gas station, but please try it first. Love it.

I am always on the look out for the local specialty regardless of where it is or what type of cuisine it is. An Asian specialty in Springfield? Yup! This unassuming store front restaurant is easy to miss but super easy to get in and and out of — it’s part of a gas station plaza. I wasn’t offered table service to place my order but — the lady at the counter was friendly and fast. My dinner consisted of the local specialty — Springfield style cashew chicken. It was invented here in my new hometown. The chicken was light and juicy. The breading was crunchy. The brown sauce with the hint of oyster sauce didn’t soak the chicken breading but complemented it nicely. My meal consisted of a hearty portion of the chicken, plain white rice(could have has pork fried rice) and two great tasting crab rangoons. No liquor or beer here but that was just fine by me. Come visit here. It’s in a gas station plaza — try the Springfield chicken!

Don’t be fooled because this place is attached to a gas station. The food is super good– especially the sweet and sour chicken and crab rangoon. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. One of my favorite local Chinese places in Springfield.

This was our first time at Happy China. The food was good and the cook/order taker was very friendly and helpful. The Crab Rangoon was the best in Springfield. It is hard to find good Chinese in the area. We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I came here for date night because I knew how much he had loved coconut chicken(thank you David H.) from a different Chinese restaurant we’d gone to. So glad that we chose this place! The food… ERMAGHERD! It was so delish! He had the coconut chicken which I had got to try a bite of, and it was yummy. Creamy, tender white meat with a nice glaze to it. I took Matthew B.‘s advice and had the honey chicken, which was just as yummy(if not yummier). Not too sweet, either. The fried rice was good, and the crab rangoons were off the chart yummy! I even ate the crispy bits, which I usually leave on the side of the plate anywhere else. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly and prompt. Not to mention they had an adorable maneki-neko(beckoning cat) there at the front to greet you. I might have squeed a little it was so cute. For $ 18 for the two of us(which included our meals, fried rice, 2 crab rangoons, 1 egg roll, and two medium drinks), we had left full and had to grab a to-go box. Which is nice because we didn’t need to gorge ourselves and feel miserable like we normally would at a buffet. Definitely will be coming back again to try out all the other different flavors they offer! I’d dare say that we have found a new favorite.
