The Home Depot

Ok, you would think that with having a competitor just down the road from you that you would be a little more helpful, and professional when someone comes in and asks for help. Albeit, the Lowe’s down the road from this one is no better, but still you would think you would want to be better than the other guy. My wife and I went to both Lowe’s and this particular Home Depot pricing a few items we needed/​wanted for our house, and the Lowe’s on the north end of town won our business. I’m sure we will go there for odds and ends stuff, but for the most part we weren’t impressed.

Love this store, most of the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. People say its hard to find workers, but that hasn’t been the case for me… maybe they have added staff. Last time I was there the guy working lumber (I think his name was Cody) helped me find what I needed, cut it for me, and even helped me load it into my car, all with a smile. I came for the prices, but keep coming back for the great service.

I try to always hit up Home Depot because of their great prices. However I am always shocked at how horrible their customer service is. It is a store where I only see employees at the register, and when I do find an employee in an isle they never seem to be able to answer my questions.
Today I came in to look at mulch options, compare lawn mowers, and compare weed eaters. It took 32 minutes to find an employee who would make eye contact, or come near me (one guy walked by at a casual pace, looked at me, turned around, and started power walking away from me). Finally I went to lawn and garden where one employee would not sell me mulch but kept insisting I plant flowers, however the other was very kind. She helped me flag down someone to show me lawnmowers, and answer questions. 15 minutes later a guy came to assist, he was helpful (I was shocked) however the prices were higher than lowes and walmart.
To conclude; I left, and won’t be back anytime soon. I’d rather pay more (usually) at lowes and recieve goos service.

Tried to buy a washer and dryer today that were on clearance. I was told that the delivery would only drop them off inside my back door vs in my basement since I was buying floor models and not from te warehouse. The only way to get them delivered to my basement was to find my own delivery company. Walked away from the sale.

I’m a big fan of Home Depot. We have saved a lot of money by ordering our appliances though them and have had no problems with anything. Everything was exactly what we picked out at the store and delivered profesionally. We even had our HVAC (Heat and Air Conditioner unit) go out in January and purchased one through them. We got it installed and over less than two thousand dollars the price of what another recomended heat and air company quoted us. They even came out to the house and gave us a FREE estimate, unlike the other place. Works great just like everything else we have purchased from them and was not one penny more than they quoted.
I only dock them one star because when I go into their stores, I always have to go find a person to help me. First I’ll look where they should be, their department. Then I go to the service desk in the front and have them paged Almost every time. The money saved is well worth it and the people that have come to our house have always been great.

Horrible customer service. I don’t think many of the people that work here know what they’re doing. And they wonder why more and more people shop online…

I’m rating this store based on the Garden Center — fantastic selection of premium plants by Hines and Seville, and every other week or so they have some great clearance deals — Lillies for $ 2 one time I was there!
Don’t let the small size fool ya — they have some great deals, and great customer service!

I don’t know why I keep stooping so low and why I keep going back to the Home Depot. First off the store is set up so backwards. You can’t find anything in the darn store! It gets frustrating. I just bought a new freezer there last Saturday. They had to order it… not a big deal… but the customer service just absolutely sucks! No one there has any ounce of personality and they are just so bland. It must not be a good place to work for. But the only reason I went there to buy this was because I had a coupon.

Had to go in and get some wire for a lamp today. Usually They have pretty good service but every once in a while it’s a bit hard to get help. That being said, I understand I am not the only person on this earth that matters and that sometimes waiting is just a part of life. None the less it can get frustrating. When I did find the employee for the department everything else was great and quick. They will go out of their way to help you, when you can find them :)
