Springfield Antique Show & Flea Market

Love going to the extravaganzas here during the summer!

When I started traveling in ’98, the world of antiques was opened up to me. The kinds of antiques found in places like this are simply missing from life on the West Coast. This joint in particular hosts a very impressive array of items and the folks who work here are knowledgable as well as accommodating.
Located just off the freeway. Easy access from the freeway and back on.

If you love antiques, you need to check out this show. It’s about 90 minutes from Cincy and features some of the area’s best dealers. Getting in can be a hassle — looooong parking lines — but it’s orderly and ultimately worth it. Good food vendors, too; try the ice cream.

Just…Whoa.
I don’t normally buy antiques, or seek out flea markets on weekends for fun, but this… THIS… is just amazing!
I was overwhelmed by the shear amount of — what I can only describe as «awesome» — that stretched for acres among the dozens and dozens of vendors. So much stuff!
I couldn’t stop my creativity from going wild with all of the awesome refurb projects I could’ve taken on if I had bought all of the things I thought were cool. I literally said «that’s SO cool» more than a hundred times.
From furniture, to old dishes, to antique trinkets, artwork, and SO MUCH MORE if you’re into «cool» old items for your home, for the love of gawd you HAVE to make the trip and come see for yourselves.
I walked out with a solid wood desk that needs a little TLC for $ 30, some custom photo-​on-​recycled-​wood artwork for $ 50, and an old window I’m turning into a custom art piece for $ 5!
This year the flea only goes from ⁹⁄₁₆ — ⁹⁄₁₈ and there is a $ 7 admission fee (but it’s worth it based on the money you save on unique items and no sales tax.)
Most of the vendors were willing to offer you a lower price on some items too.
I was so smitten by my experience tonight I’m headed back to Springfield again tomorrow to do another look through!

They don’t nickname it «EXTRAVAGANZA» for nothing. If you watch HGTV, you have probably seen this flea market on various programs. It’s the best one I have ever been to. Something for everyone! It takes place at two month intervals.
