Peet’s Coffee & Tea

My husband and I have been going here since this summer as we hadn’t tried Peet’s coffee before and we’ve been going at least 2 to 3 times a week for coffee and a sweet usually a scone. We enjoy the coffee and goodie and customer service has always been great! We like to go around the noon or 1pm for our pick me up!

Staff always friendly. Good coffee. Only drawback is lack of ample parking. And no drive thru.

Scones are dry and too big. Decaf coffee was terrible. Why they closed our wonderful Caribou Coffee shop I’ll never know. I’m not big fan of Starbucks, but that’s where I go now.

I do wish you had the M&M cookie available. I get it at the Fairfax and Alexandria location. Cookies are homemade or at least they taste like it. The only draw back is that they don’t cover the food and you can see cats around the food. But other than that Peet’s is a plus.

Coffee is okay. Nothing to write home about but better than some. The BIGGEST downside to this place is the horrible internet service. This is not a place to come, relax and work. When I say it’s bad, it’s bad. The other downside is the restrooms. They’re disgusting.

I absolutely love Peet’s … I absolutely hate this location. Holly cow, staff is so rude they just ruined my Sunday Peet’s coffee fix. Don’t recommend this location at all

Rudeness!!!
I was so excited when this coffee shop opened having had only positive experiences in their stores in California. This particular location has declined dramatically.
If you slip up and ask for a grande there’s one guy who will most certainly correct you telling you they don’t have that size drink and then you make you look at their menu to figure out what size you want. This happened to me multiple times until I able to remember not to say grande. Or risk being to be schooled again.. There’s one guy in particular that loves to do this. Obviously they know full well what size a grande is. OK I i’ve been letting this go since the store opened.
The young woman with short bleached blonde hair is even ruder. I have been there are multiple occasions when this employees has had personal and inappropriate conversations that can easily be heard by customers. I have been letting this go too.
Today I was overcharged and given the wrong drink. I gave up on getting the right drink or paying the correct amount and said «don’t worry about it» when I was eventually offered a refund. I accepted te wring drink and paid more for the extra shots which I did not order. In response to my graciousness I was told «I will give you this because clearly you are miserable» and handed a coupon for a free drink.
Wow.
Time for a new go to coffee store.

This used to be my go to coffee shop but I am hesitant to go there because of this one guy who is rude and awkward. He would greet guests if you are older and white otherwise he won’t even bother acknowledging you and just wait for someone else to take orders.
Last time I was in there, I overheard him saying, «you know what today is? Hitler’s birthday!» to his coworker.
Will I come back? Probably only if I was desperate for some coffee and the fact that there aren’t any coffee shops near by. Will just say not by choice.
EDIT: staff here are still rude. Care more about socializing with each other that I stand in front of the register for god knows how long to get my order in. I don’t know why I come here all the time. Wished Starbucks or other coffee shop would open up nearby.

Definitely my favorite coffee house. Great tasting coffee and friendly service. Love it.

I live this place I love it even more than Starbucks which is saying a lot everything is comfy and also the service is excellent love it on but is lllll

Very nice location. Looove the coffee and the staff is great! Very patient and friendly. I also like that I can go here to study and not receive dirty looks for staying more than half an hour (I’ll usually buy one or more drinks plus food) like I have received at Starbucks. I feel that they appreciate my service and make an effort to make me feel welcomed.

This place has improved by leaps and bounds since they opened! The staff is more friendly, less frantic, and it’s become a real «neighborhood» place. The downside is the Peet’s décor which is a little sterile, but not the staff’s fault. It doesn’t have the warmth that Caribou did when it was here BUT the great staff more than makes up for it. There’s not a bad person behind the bar — they are all outgoing, engaging, and seem genuinely happy to be there. Great coffee too, but get there early if you want pastries.

Love their coffee! Always get their specials which I believe, changes every season. It’s great and it’s so much better than starbucks. The interior design is great as well.

Peet’s Coffee is my neighborhood coffee shop. The staff is friendly and the coffee and tea are hot. Like most coffee places they offer a variety of coffee and espresso drinks as well as teas and smoothies.

Pleasant barista, great coffee.
Not too crowded on a Sunday morning, had my order out within minutes.

Really happy that this new Peet’s is here! It’s all shiny and pretty inside, which unfortunately is not the case for the parking lot and rest of the strip mall surrounding Peet’s, as there is a ton of construction going on and it’s kind of a mess. This is not the business’s fault though, of course, and once you walk through those glass doors, it’s a different world.
This Peet’s is very clean, with some of the friendliest baristas I think I’ve ever met! It’s not enormous, but there is quite a bit of seating, a well-​stocked sugar bar, and a cool coffee bean display to look at while waiting for your bevvie to be ready. I got a medium pumpkin latte with soy milk and ½ the amount of syrup pumps, and it was perfect. I might even like it better than Starbucks’ PSL! (Gasp!)
Unfortunately I forgot to check in until after I had already left (actually there is like 0% reception inside the joint so check in before you enter!) but this location is also currently offering a Unilocal check-​in deal for $ 1 off any pumpkin drinks. Drat! Oh well, guess it just means I’ll have to go back… tomorrow. :)

Coffee is on par with McDonald’s and better than 7−11s. Service was fast friendly (drip) but the interior layout was extremely awkward. The area around the ordering and pick up area was crowded, blocking the condiments table.
The truth is; unless poor quality beans are used, drip coffee is drip coffee. Everything on menu is a foamy milkshake with a shots of espresso in it. So what we are left with is service and atmosphere.
To say that Pete’s interior was poorly thought out would be giving the designer too much credit since no thought at was given to its layout. It’s basically a cross between a cramped warehouse and a school cafeteria during lunch hour (loud).
I gave Pete’s 2 stars. Staff gets (2) fast and friendly, (1) for cleanliness, (1) coffee but had to subtract 2 for totally missing customer comfort (zero atmosphere). You’re better off going to McDonald’s, at least you will have a place sit down to enjoy your drink.

I got the unsweetened iced matcha green tea for the first time and it’s made perfect!!! My new drink for now. The service was very friendly and didn’t have to wait long for my drink. Kings park is under construction and stores are still open except for Giant.
This place needed the renovation and once complete, it will look really nice!

All around much better coffee, latte, and food than Caribou ever had. In particular the drip coffee is much better than both Caribou and Starbucks in my opinion. I still prefer the chai at Starbucks and Caribou’s hot chocolate was the best but all in all I’m happy with Peet’s.
The one thing I will suggest for this location is that they need to replace the internet provider, it is horribly slow even with only a handful of people in the coffee shop.

It’s a pleasant surprise to see Peet’s opening around Northern Virginia this summer :)!
First impression– I was impressed with their spacious seating environment and clear open bar. Great for both a quick coffee run or a long tea break.
I was very pleased with their choice of almond milk and unique iced (or hot) tea selections. I’ve had Iced Caramel Macchiato with almond milk & Jasmine lime tea– both delicious!
