McSalty’s Pizza Cafe

This is our favorite family go to pizza place. The seating isn’t very comfortable but we go for the crushed ice which is heaven and their delicious pizza. The crust is the perfect crunch yet soft. I love Mcsaltys pizza

So, I recently ordered delivery at this location with a few work buddies. I had never eaten there and the first thing I noticed was that they had a French dip sandwich which was near impossible to pass up. They were decently quick, about 45 minutes for a semi large order. The sandwich came with chips and a very fresh au jus. The bread it came on was like a honey wheat which I could tell was also fresh. All around food was delicious. I knocked off a star because when I called to place my order, the gentleman on the phone was just incredibly rude. It seemed as if I were a nuisance. I just have to say if they treated their guests as delicately as they treated their recipes, I’d be back more often.

Great food and reasonable prices. Atmosphere is good. Best pizza on east side of springfield.

Pizza was ok, it was a bit overdone. I’m assuming that it was due To the 8 teenagers goofing around, or where they working? I’m all for cheap labor, but 30 minute cook times on a pie is unacceptable. I didnt notice anyone with a sense of urgency and laterally counted 6 employees standing around at what appeared to be Peak Times. Hey everyone !!! Crushed Ice !!! Yippee Let us fill you beverage packed full of crushed ice after a long pull on the straw uhh it’s empty. May I have a refill? Oh yeah the check was dropped midway thru my 3^rd slice … Maybe she’ll respond if I text her .(get it, witty humor)

Friday at lunch and the place was almost full. Service was quick and friendly. I had two slices of Bear Pie. They were fairly small slices but plenty hearty. Fairly priced, too, I thought. And free wi-​fi. Very nice.

Yummy pizza. Always get it when I come to Springfield for a visit. Nothing like it anywhere else.

Good pizza. Different from the normal offerings. Staff is always“out to lunch”. Even though they always seem to have twice the people they need to operate.

I thought this place was fun and kind of different. It is like a step back in time, not to a traditionally nostalgic decade but to the 80’s and 90’s. However it is a nice place to grab pizza and hang out with friends, pleasantly free of trendiness and a refreshing change from other pizza places. I liked the thin wheat crust and mix of cheeses. We had the Bear Pie and toppings were plentiful. McSalty’s claims to be using fresh produce from Well Fed Neighbor Market now, so that was a draw for my party and I. Their salad covered in sprouts was a good starter, too. The prices aren’t the best but could be a lot worse. The large specialty pizza was slightly under $ 20 and easily fed 2 adults with several leftover slices. The wait staff was attentive and boxed up our leftover pizza, which wasn’t expected at this type of casual establishment… but it was a nice touch!
