Three stars is what cielito lindo gets. My husband and I dined here tonight. We had the special fajitas for two. The food was great. Great price, very quick to get our food and good taste. The atmosphere is very cozy. Nicely decorated. Totally comfortable. Our only complaint was the service/servers. Our waiter was very friendly and nice however he only visited our table twice. Once to order and then we waited a while after we finished our food for our check. Most of the time 3 – 4 of the waiters were just sitting around chit chatting and watching television instead of waiting. It seems silly but it bothered me. I’m paying money for a night out and you’re just watching television… Overall it was alright. I may return sometime but it won’t be my first choice.

Wow I was totally disappointed. First time me and my husband ate there and won’t be going back. I got the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and that had to be the worst enchilada sauce I’ve ever had. It tasted like pasta sauce from a can and the beans and rice were bland. The chips and salsa were good and the price was cheap. He got the burrito enchilada style and it was just mediocre at best.

I had the pollo y camarones, the food just didn’t have any flavor honestly. The menu said seasoned with spices, but I couldn’t really taste any. The shrimp was over cooked, I think they used precooked shrimp, so it was just too done by the time the chicken was cooked. Probably not a place I would go back to.

My comment to my wife after we had finished with our meal was that it was a couple of notches above Taco Bell… I felt like the portions were small and the food quality was poor. Just don’t!

I work near this restaurant and it is a GREAT place to get take-out. Excellent lunch specials, large proportions and great people. For after work they have AWESOME margaritas! I have no problem recommending this restaurant to everyone.

I wanted to really enjoy this place… sadly I could not. The salsa is not chunky at all. it reminds me of the juice from a can of diced tomatoes… tasteless. I ordered a bowl of the spicy salsa hoping to thicken and jazz it up. nope. again tasteless and had the thickness of v8. I like my salsa chunky and with taste! The guacamole was awful!!! It tasted like it was from a can definitely not made in house as it should be. We ordered enchiladas and burritos. They were bland and with red sauce from a can poured all over the top. This was a sad excuse for food. I mean how can you mess up a burrito??? The service was good though that’s the only reason I give 2 stars! :)

We use to eat here quire regularly. Something has apparently happened via a change in management because this place has gone downhill. The food use to be great and very reasonable. Still very reasonable but ordering the same items now is not nearly as good as it was 2 years ago. They service also use to be great now very sporadic and slow. They also quit putting hot sauce on the tables(you can still request it) because they say people were stealing them. The food is still pretty good but not great anymore. Hope they turn it around.

My fiancé and I ate here for the first time and it was interesting. We did get in quickly and the food was decent, but there are better Mexican places around town. The frustrating part was that our server was very rude. He was pushy for us to order quickly, and flat out asked if we were ready to order yet. He eventually brought us our plates and walked away without saying anything. On top of receiving rude service, the place wasn’t clean. The booths, ceilings, and floors were covered in stains and greasy film.

I havent been able to try the other many mexican places here in Springfield but on it’s own merits this place is pretty good. The rice is honestly my favorite part of an mexican dish and theirs is just so good. Price is not ridiculous either and the service was very good.

Despite the infinite Jose Cuervo and Corona memorabilia — despite the bizarre, culturally questionable artwork — and despite the fact that Cielito Lindo is really just another neatly wrapped kitsch bomb, Mexican style… I kind of love this place. Don’t get me wrong, if I only had to eat at one Mexican place in SGF ever again, it’d be Perches. But Cielito’s got decent house salsa to accompany the usual endless boats of tortilla chips(good salsa is hard to come by), which is great if you’re in that strange mood to stuff your face with chips n’ salsa. I’m a fan of the #10 dinner combo, which is two hard shell beef tacos with the usual rice and beans. While the rice and beans are«meh»(rice and beans have never NOT been«meh» to me and this saddens me deeply), the tacos are just sheer greasy goodness. They’re stuffed with SUPER finely ground beef and topped with piles of velvety grated cheese and lettuce. I sprinkle ‘em up with some of that decent house salsa and sink into a filmy, greasy Meximerican delirium. The shells aren’t stab-your-insides hard, either — they’re somehow an impeccable texture. Two thumbs up fo’ dem taco shells. If you’re into pretty quality Mexi-whatever food, head to one of Cielito’s many locations(and not Mexican Villa, for the love of pete!).

We got right in but the service was terrible. No straws, no napkins after two requests. We were seated literally right by the front door and bathroom so eating in front of an audience was no bueno. We asked to be moved. The food was ok — I had the La Favorita. Chips and salsa was very good and they do make a good margarita. The place is kinda dirty. The menu and dessert menu were grimy. My date was a bit sad because he eats at the other locations and loves the food. If you’re wanting Ceilito Lindo — just go to any other location.

I ate here while traveling through Springfield… was craving Mexican food and trusted the average 4 star rating this place got here on Unilocal.First, the salsa was awful, the guacamole was mediocre, my chicken looked like flattened roadkill, and my daughter’s tamales were unexpectedly drowned in some weird sauce. I won’t even go into the service. On occasion I actually overlook bad service to some extent if the food is worth it, and this place wasn’t worth it. If you like even close to authentic Mexican food and/or Tex Mex, this is not the place to go. All this coming from a San Antonio girl who lives in KC, which does have some pretty good Mexican food… and not from chain restaurants. If that’s what this place is, I didn’t know. Never again.

Best value for Mexican in Springfield. Huge variety and two can dine here easily for $ 20. Always great service, food delivery is quick and fresh… what else can be said? Worth a try!!!

So if you find yourself in Springfield, MO, with a hankering for some TexMex, what is one to do? Well, you can try Cielito Lindo. I’ve been visiting the area for 12+ years and had never tried this joint. And I’m a TexMex junkie being from Texas! This place is average. Servers are friendly and prices are cheap. Got a pitcher of Dos Equis for $ 10. Our entrees were around $ 6 – 8 each. I tried an enchilada, burrito, and quesadilla. All were ok, the burrito was my favorite out of the three(combo #25, I think). Also tried the guac. I’ve had way better and fresher guac. For two of us with beers we ate for $ 30. Can’t complain. Makes me long for some Pappasito’s or Uncle Julio’s or Blue Mesa or Mi Cocina… need I go one.

This is a find Mexican restaurant. It’s a local chain, and they definitely know how to run a American-based Mexican restaurant. They bring out chips and salsa. They give you big drinks because you’ve consumed a shaker full of salt. They have a huge menu with close to 100 items. The food comes out quickly. The food is hot. The food satisfies the hot, cheesy, meaty, saucy in-a-starchy craving that you sate when you eat at a Mexican restaurant. And the place is nice, too, with that Mexican restaurant décor that you’d expect(though no cliff divers, sadly). Nothing here was out of the ordinary, good nor bad, and certainly, we’d go back, though we’ll probably check out the dozen or so other Mexican restaurants in town first, just to see if one of the other places does have that special item or taste.

The salsas were delicious. The chile relleno was watery. It was small and the breading barely present. The burrito was also disappointong. The margarita was mediocre.

I had the Chili Relleno. If you’re a fan of those… don’t order it here. I’m an out of towner, and this is where the staff opted to go for lunch, so I tagged along. The Chili Relleno is my standard when I go to a new mexican food place. This one was not breaded, was not deep fried and had no filler. It was a roaster chili pepper, covered in cheese sauce and a tomatoe enchilada sauce. The rice and beans were good. Perhaps I would be more satisfied with another meal there. Just disappointing to have my favorite dish be not so good here.

I am a regular and love the décor, food, and the people who serve. Great food at a very reasonable price. Burrito Cancun, chile rellenos, fajitas and all combos and beverages muy buenos.
