This place was rated 4 stars on a travel site my husband’s work uses. We decided to give it a try while we were home for Thanksgiving this year. The price was right, and the pictures on the website looked good! The first thing we noticed were the steps going up to the room. The looked like they were rotting, and may have had non slip stuff on them at one time. Just something that I noticed. At first glance, the room looked clean. It did have an unpleasant smell, nothing that a bottle of fabreeze wouldn’t take care of. It has a nice little kitchen, with a new refrigerator, a nice stove, microwave and coffee pot. It had matching closets going into the bathroom, although one was unusable since the door fell off every-time it was opened. Nice big sink with room for two, and the bathroom was clean. The beds were not great. They moved easily, squeaked, and we’re not very comfortable. I could not sleep the first night because the pillows were flat, and the smelled of sweat! Both of them! We had to purchase new pillows for the next night. The walls, ceiling around vents were very noticeably dirty! It was very unappealing!!! And lastly, the maid staff were understandably off for Thanksgiving, however, that wasn’t something that was mentioned when we checked in. We would have picked up some extra towels at the front desk had we known. The day after Thanksgiving wasn’t much better. Trash had been taken out, and new towels were in the bathroom, but as soon as we walked in and saw that the beds were unmade, we made a run to the front desk again!!! This isn’t somewhere we will stay again. The sweaty, 20 year old pillows and the initial smell of the place took care of that for me!

We made our reservation to stay at this hotel over a month in advance. Upon arriving at the hotel we were told that they no longer had a room for us, and told us they moved us to their other(less desirable) location, Arbor Suites Medical Mile at 1260 E. Independence. I feel a phone call was definitely in order, instead of letting us know when we showed up. Very unprofessional to overbook, and then move guests.

This hotel appears to have started as a Marriott Residence Inn, so it has a good location(a block off the busy Battlefield blvd), a nice apartment layout, and nice common spaces. Room had an open living room/kitchen, with couch, coffee table, bar/counter, full size fridge, oven, sink, and dishwasher. Plus kitchenware. Bedroom off to the side, still part of the open arrangement. Relatively small 20 inch TV. The room was showing its age, with worn carpet/couch and bathroom fixtures. Over all a decent value, I would stay here again.

I had my birthday here in the penthouse suite and it was amazing. Carpeting could’ve use some updating but I wasn’t too worried about the style as much as cleanliness. The setup was just really cool and had everything you needed for an extended stay. The price was also very affordable for all the things included. The girl at the desk was very nice and helpful and the complimentary breakfast had a large variety. I’m surprised I never hear anything about this hotel because if I didn’t already live in Springfield id definitely stay there if I visited here.
