Went there on Friday let the waiter talk me into getting the sea bass. Best meal i have ever had, every bite was perfection, cheesy potatoes on the side topped meal off. Band playing was awesome, made the dining experience even better. Great place to go, go and enjoy!!!

This place is usually great… Just don’t come on a Saturday night. Checked in at 6:30 pm– 2 hour wait. Taken to a table only to be taken back to hostess stand to wait another half hour! Ps… It’s 10:40 and waiting on our to-go dessert still…

My wife and I went on 1⁄17 and had an awesome experience. We sat in the bar area. A guy by the name of Osmunde was our server and despite working the bar and serving the tables along the side, he did an amazing job. We had the Alligator and Oysters Pappadeaux for appetizers. I made a mistake in my order(I intended to get ½ & ½). Despite my mistake, the waiter brought out 3 Oysters Baton Rouge for us. My wife had a cheese-stuffed, bacon-wrapped shrimp dish with dirty rice and I had the crawfish platter for our entrées. Both were very good and tasted very fresh. We had 2 desserts: bread pudding and brownie Sunday. If there was anything remotely disappointing, it was the bread pudding. It wasn’t bad but tasted like the oatmeal I make for my kids.

If reviews were based off customer service alone, Pappadeaux, without a doubt would receive a 5 star rating from me. The waiter that served my friend and I was knowledgeable, polite, and caring. The manager on duty was also accommodating and kind. Although our food and overall dining experience wasn’t pleasant, we didn’t leave the restaurant with a total distaste for the establishment. It’s true that customer service is far more important than the service that’s being provided because if the staff hadn’t treated us as well as they did, I wouldn’t think twice about never eating there again. My first ever experience at Pappadeaux was great. The food was fresh and again the service was phenomenal. For this reason, I decided to come back for my birthday. I don’t know if it was the fact that I was too ready to be met with the same high as my first encounter but boy was I disappointed! The food that my guest and I received was consistently bland and cold and the fact that it was my birthday was an extra downer. I’m from Columbus, OH so the fact that I subjected my guest to a two hour drive for food that wasn’t even mediocre was disappointing to say the least. Again, because of the awesome customer service I convinced my best friend to come back a third time. This was her first time coming and she was excited because of the hype that surrounds the restaurant. I was excited as well, we joked because before making the trip to Springdale we made sure not to eat anything(again I was too ready). We ordered the following(don’t judge us, operation greedy ass in full effect here but so! lol crime?) Appetizers: (1) Crispy Fried Alligator With fresh cut potato sticks & Creole dipping sauce — Sounds delicious right? Well, yes it should have been but unfortunately they were dough balls with all dark meat the size of peas inside the breading. If this was my first time having alligator from Pappadeaux I would have chalked it up to «hey, maybe I just don’t like fried alligator.» That isn’t the case, the first time I tried this particular appetizer it was great. The alligator was juice and fried light in what had to be fresh oil. This time, it was the complete opposite. (2) Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes Over crawfish in a light butter sauce –The crab cakes were not jumbo at all, they were quite dry if I had to give them a description. (3) Some type of egg roll or spring roll that I don’t believe that have on the menu anymore. -*insert praying hand emoji* THANKGOD! Entrees: Pasta Mardi Gras(The dish I ordered) Linguine tossed with crawfish, Andouille sausage & crimini mushrooms in a marinara cream sauce topped with jumbo grilled shrimp. –Again, I know this dish is delicious because I ordered it on my very first visit. This go ’round the pasta was cold and dry. I believe that they had my food under a heat light waiting for my friends order to come out. Grilled Caribbean Lobster Tail(what my friend ordered) With mashed red potatoes & asparagus –Now her dish looked delicious. When I seen her lobster tail come out I looked at my dried up pasta and then back at her dish and felt like WHATTHEFUUUUU?! Her plate literally looked like it could be on the cover of a food magazine. I was too jealous! well that is until she went to taste it and the lobster was overcooked and rubbery in texture. Again the manager was very nice and offered to remake our meals fresh. We accepted the offer but the food still came back equally as stale and overcooked. At this point we decided to take our loss and head back to Columbus on an empty stomach. Two hours and an empty gas tank later, we were back home on square one, plagued with the question, «so what do you have a taste for?»

My family came to columbus to celebrate my birthday weekend. We then decided to drive another hour and a half to pappadeaux for dinner. I had been to this location many times for happy hour and carry out. I had also been to pappas brand reastaurants in the Texas and Georgia area, however this was their first time at a pappadeaux restaurant. The waitress did not explain the menu or suggest anything. Service was seriously lacking. The food however did not disappoint. I feel that when someone is showing patronage to your business whether they spend 2 dollars or 2000 service must be on point. I was very disappointed that they didn’t get the 5 star service that I was used to receiving. The manager did try to make it better and offered us free dessert. They are the only pappadeaux in the midwest other than chicago so I will be back when Im in the area.

My lobster bisque and ceaser salad were both excellent! We had a large group for a birthday party and the service was very very good. I also had a cherry bomb martini and it was wonderful. I’d come back again for sure! We had a great time.

Yum! I went here with a few colleagues for lunch and it was delicious. The décor is very nice — upscale/fancy without being pretentious, like a supped-up TGIFriday’s or something. The dining rooms are spacious, with plenty of room to get in and out from each table(no booths that I could see). The only TV’s were over in the bar area — classy! I had the Cajun Combo — blackened catfish on dirty rice and some shrimp something(creole, maybe — red sauce) on white rice. Both were very good. The catfish in particular was well cooked, and the blackening spices were spot on — spicy but not overpowering. It was light but filling. Some of the other dishes ordered were shrimp po-boy, tilapia, and lobster mac-n-cheese(might of been crab). Everyone chowed down and finished it all. We received a complimentary dessert to share because it was out first time in, which was a nice touch. The piece of cake we received was HUGE — hard to believe one person could put that down after a full meal here. FYI — its not a cheap lunch. The four of us, with tip, rang up over $ 100. It was worth it, though. I’ll be back.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! I heard on an online group that this place was great for allergies and that it is the restaurant policy for the manager to come out and talk to the guest then speak to the chef. And this is exactly what happened1 Dustin came out to my table and talked to me about what kind of subs they could make for me in the kitchen for my dairy problem and what they could make work and what didn’t. I was really impressed! The waiter, Jonathan, was also extremely helpful and understanding and answered every question we had with an upbeat honest manner that we both just adored. I ended up with the mixed seafood grill and blackened alligator for an appetizer. It was absolutely fantastic. The scallops, salmon, and shrimp were all perfectly cooked. But really today was about hubby. He loves seafood and I tend to be the wet noodle that doesn’t let it happen, because most seafood places just ARENOT this accommodating. So he had Texas Redfish Pontchartrain with dirty rice and then had the cheesecake for dessert. He was SOOO happy. He said everything he had was the best he’d ever had — from the rice to the fish to the cheesecake. While I knew was I was getting into ahead of time, the bill was quite steep. But if you can cook food like that, and offer service like that, in an environment like that, I will pay that hefty bill with a smile! While you’re in the area, also visit Jungle Jim’s International Market!

If you can’t get to New Orleans to get your hands on some of their signature Creole food then Pappadeaux’s is the next best thing. This seafood kitchen brings the Bayou to the Midwest with their spicy, savory dishes. Whenever I come home, I have to go to Pappadeaux’s before I leave town. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the whole world. This place stays crowded, so make a reservation so you can avoid the long wait. Their Swampthing is my favorite cocktail there. This hurricane, daiquiri based drink is fruity but strong. This frozen concoction will make you feel as though you are on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras. I also decided to try something new and also had a Baton Bellini. This version of a Bellini was kicked up a notch with tequila being added to the cocktail. I try something new every time I come to Pappadeaux’s. They have so many great options I always want to give my palate a new adventure. This time I chose the Creole Shrimp and Grits. Huge shrimp were cooked in a spicy, tomato based sauce. Creamy, cheesy grits with hunks of andouille sausage are served along side the shrimp. The heat from the shrimp with the buttery grits were a perfect combination. I was transported to the Big Easy with every delicious bite. I can’t wait until my next visit home to Ohio to try one of Pappadeaux’s spicy, southern cuisines.

Service was good! I tried the Parmesan crusted flounder with spaghetti squash, green beans, topped with crab meat & tomatoes. Portion was huge! Really fresh & flavorful. Husband got the stuffed shrimp & baked potato. Really good! Also tried the crab/shrimp artichoke dip! So good! The food was worth the drive from Indianapolis!

This place was so awesome I had to come back for more. Awesome fast service, smoking delicious food, very generous portions and I am still in love with the cheese grits. Went to this place in Texas earlier this year and have been in love ever since. Can’t go wrong with any item on the menu.

Although a chain, this place is authentic New Orleans cuisine. Only 1 ½ away from Indy. This place is definitely worth the travel. If you love Louisiana cuisine this place is a must.

I think Paapadeaux is overrated. Don’t get me wrong. I love some seafood, good seafood and this place just doesn’t hit the spot. It feels like a lot of their menu is fried food, although the lobster egg rolls are DELICIOUS!!! The prices are high and I think you could get more bang for your buck other places. The service has always been good, although it’s really crowded on the weekend so plan accordingly!

We went for crawfish Thursday and really, I have no complains. Crawfish: The waiter messed up our order but got it fixed extremely quickly. Food came out very fast. Very heavily seasoned but we just can’t stop eating it. So good and yes it’s mess, but sometimes you just have to get your hands dirty for some good food. Lobster bisque: well, I have a couple spoonful cuz I wanted to try. Let’s just say I wanted a bowl for myself for user if I hadn’t eaten my entire plate already. Desert: the cheese cake tho!!! So creamy with just amount of sweetness. We loved it!!! Service: he messed up a couple times but we went back and forth a few times too so all is forgiven. –1: I had actual food here once and it was just ok. Very very salty with unbelievable amount of food. Personally I am not really into those kind of food.

A nice lunch spot not crowded & great service. Hubby ordered a dozen oysters for the price six would cost, that’s a great deal. My shrimp & chix meal was awesome with a side of spicy onion rings. It was a nice enhancement to an everyday lunch.

From the second we stepped into this restaurant the atmosphere was buzzing. Our party of eight had an excellent server named Ken who was very knowledgeable about the menu and even recommended something not on the menu that I ordered and loved. The crawfish trio had sautéed, fried, and étouffée style crawfish. I wish I had a larger stomach because I wanted to eat the whole thing! Unfortunately we ordered two appetizers and pigged out on those so I couldnt! Our server Ken surprised me with a drink because I couldn’t decide on one, and he brought me a delicious twisted hurricane. Yummy! To finish the meal he brought out a huge dessert tray and because we’re a party of piglets, we ordered the keylime pie. It had fresh berries and a berry purée which accented the pie excellently! …that, we were able to finsih very easily! Our dining experience here was excellent and our server Ken made it that much more enjoyable. He smiled and was polite, joked with us and upselled us on every menu item without us feeling like we’d been had, lol, but he made it fun, and we’ll definitely be back!

One of my favorite places to eat in Cincinnati! The food and service here is excellent. And the portions are very generous! The seafood & sausage gumbo is excellent! The best ice had in Cincinnati! Fish dishes are usually petty good. I like the halibut. Have yet to try the sea bass. Fried gator is also very good! Shrimp po boy is okay. Way too much bread and not enough shrimp. It was hard to eat because the bread was too crispy; to the point where it hurt the top of my mouth.

Despite being a little less than 2 hours away, a trip to Pappadeaux is quite the popular road trip option for many Hoosiers. It’s a lively place where you can get a taste of NOLA only a short car drive away. I have had the opportunity to visit Pappadeaux’s three times. My most recent visit was on October 13th. After waiting over a year to visit and bragging incessantly to a friend, I was elated to take her on her first visit to Pappadeaux. We arrived at lunch time on a Monday after noon. Normally this place is jammed packed, but since it was a weekday the restaurant was fairly empty. Perfect for us because it meant no wait! We were even more thrilled to learn that until 3 p.m. you can order from the lunch menu, which for some items, it almost $ 10 cheaper than the dinner options. Winning! I am completely obsessed with the Mardi Gras Pasta, so I was ecstatic to see it on the lunch menu for only 16 bucks and some change. The dinner portion is $ 25! Our wait staff was friendly and great although she a bit slow considering how empty the restaurant was at the time. We placed our order and waited in immense anticipation for our meal. While you wait, you are provided with a loaf of bread and butter. I was so hungry and am ashamed to say I devoured the loaf almost single handily. So good! Our meal finally came. Yes! I couldn’t believe the portion size. It was fairly comparable to the dinner portion. I dug in. As I previously mentioned, I have only had the Mardi Gras Pasta. I’m hooked, but the third time was not the charm. My pasta lacked its’ usual flavor. I was a bit disappointed, but it was still satisfying. After stuffing ourselves, we decided to have dessert. Of course, we ordered the banana pudding that comes in the mason jar. Aw man, what a disappointment. I’m not sure if they were having an off day, but the pudding itself lack the sweetness normally associated with banana pudding. Also a quarter of my jar was filled with whipped cream. Ick! I was hurt. Not worth the 6 bucks. Overall we enjoyed our visit, and despite some of the rough patches I still highly recommend visiting Pappadeaux’s at least once. They have so many unique dishes to try. I have to wean myself off the Mardi Gras pasta and try some new stuff. Plus it’s near Jungle Jim’s and Ikea! The perfect trip.
