This store was NOT built in the 80’s by HEB… It was a Rice Grocery store… In the early’s 90’s it became HEB«Pantry»…It was great when it first opened. Now that the area has grown 5 times what it was in the 90’s it’s not. This store does not serve the community… There are many homes in this area. Timberlane for one. HEB should be embarrassed by this store. It’s getto. It looks like they are in no hurry to improve it seeing that it’s a cash cow because of the apts. Leave it open and build a new store on FM1960 and Aldineswestfield next to Starbucks and Capital One Bank… There are no HEB on 1960… Poor planning by HEB. The new stores in Spring on 2920 and Rayford are great… Seems foolish to drive to the other stores when this one is 5 mins from my house. However I must if I plan on doing serious shopping. This store is a bad mark on the name HEB. New stores coming up all over town but not the oldest one in the area? is this how we get paid back by shopping here all of there years??? SHAMEFUL!

A lot of reviewers here seem to be missing the point of this store… It was built in the 80s, for the express purpose of serving the then-new apartment complexes and subdivision nearby. Yes, the HEB has aged, and so have the apartments, but it was never meant to be anything more than a mega-sized convenience store. Everyone in the neighborhood seems to get that and many of the reviews seem to be from people stopping by on their way to or from other areas of Spring…(Sadly, the complaints of the staff being«surly» or «rude» from people outside the area often seem to be bywords for the staff’s largely minority makeup. They’ve never been anything but friendly to me, excepting the one or two inevitable negative encounters with a teenage checker). There’s a Wal-Mart and Target only a few miles away for those customers looking for more. For what the HEB is, though, it’s a convenient place to run over for essentials or a quick dinner from the deli. I do have to agree with other reviewers on one point, though, that being the store’s lack of cleanliness. In a lot of areas of the store, «dirty» really just means«old,» but the produce section really is more of an outdoor farmer’s market, with buzzing flies, food very haphazardly stacked on and in crates, etc. It’s the one area they really need to improve.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Possibly the worst HEB ever. What do you mean you don’t carry Fritos?

The only constant thing about this place is that it is dirty and the staff is surly and unfriendly. The parking lot, the floors inside and the people are unfriendly. I spoke to a ’ Manager’ and he was completely unconcerned about he condition of the store. He simply did not care I ended up contacting Corporate and the store was clean for about 2 weeks but it is back again in poor shape Avoid this store is my best advice.

This HEB is so dirty and smelly when you look at it. The exterior hasn’t been updated since it was first built and the colors of the walls are slowly growing dimmer and dimmer and becoming almost pasty and chalky. The products they carry are so limited and can be infuriating if you’re looking for a specific item. After finding 3 of the 5 items that I needed, I walked to the check out and all the lines were backed up. They didn’t even have a self check out. Everything was moving so slowly and everybody just took their time and more. I definitely don’t recommend coming to this side of town. It’s not a place I would usually venture to, but I just happened to find the nearest HEB to my current location and it took me here. Thank goodness I was only here for that night or I would drive 30 mins. just to get to another convenience store. I won’t be coming back here ever! Service is slow, merchandise are limited, store is dirty, and location is shady. No thanks!

I walked out of HEB… Fruit fly infested produce Meat/chicken cooler over 60° and product was warm … Told the guy in meat dept and he said its defrosting… I said defrosting does not raise the temp of all the product and make it warm… I told him he could trust me on this. The sirloin and chicken was warm to the touch 2 – 3 packs down. So he walks away from me… I said dude are you serious??? You are going to get people sick. Well I guess I can tell the manager he said. I walked up front… DIDNOTPURCHASE A THING Told the manager and left… I used to think highly of HEB. This has me truly re thinking me spending $ there.

I hate this store. It’s old and they are always out of everything I need. This location is closest to me and I drive out oft way to shop at the 2920 location.

How can another HEB less than 5 miles away from this store be 5 stars and this one be 1 star? I really don’t know. It’s almost like they have two different owners. It must be a budget thing or something. I would rather go to the Kroger(which I also reviewed 1 star) to get my food than this small store which usually runs out of everything during peak times of the month. At least Kroger has more shelf space and is able to provide more selections for its customers. In addition to this store being so small and always running out of staple items, it’s so dirty. Everywhere you look, it will be dirty. Don’t even think about buying Ice Cream or frozen food here. Their freezers seem to go into defrost longer than they should. This usually results in frozen items melting and getting stuck together or iced up.

Poor HEB… poor poor HEB. It’s very unfortunate that this store of ours out here in Spring has never been updated. I’m thinking because of space, it’ll probably always remain the small old school store with NO extras!!! Ex, bakery, pharmacy, etc. Every time I walk in I instantly think… Ugh! The floors look dirty, but it’s more like they’re soooo old, they can’t get the floors back white & shiny. Their selection of EVERYTHING is very limited. One thing that HEB does that I like to take advantage of is the Buy«meat» & get about 5 items free deal. Well that’s great WHEN they have all the items surrounded by the coupon, but who the heck wants to track down a single serving of Mac n Chees!!! One coupon that I saw said, Get item in Deli. Deli? Really? They have a Deli? OHWAIT!!! Is that what the extremely small ¼ of a counter is shoved over by the freezer section?!? The one that NO one’s ever at!!! Nice!!! Lol! Okay so another tip about our HEB in Spring… Do not waste your time asking employees where something is. There’s a slim to none chance that you’ll even catch an employee that’s not on a register, & if you do… there’s a damn good chance they don’t know jack about their store!!! Ex: I asked about Atkins products, the Buffalo Spdway location always has lots to chose from & stay stocked, but I was originally told they did not carry«that» kind of stuff. Okay, so why did I end up bumping into the products on my next trip in?!? Too bad I got em home & they were expired!!! Way to go Spring HEB!!! Btw, I want my 7 $ back!!! So now for check out. In the past it looked much like a freak show. White eyelashes, G Strings on ppl that have no business, bad weave… need I say more!!! Another Spring Unilocaler knows exactly what I’m talkin about!!! But lately, things are looking a little better. I mean, they still act like it’s painful to say the words, «how are you? Did you find everything okay?» but they are getting better. Maybe it has something to do with an incident that happened not too long ago(see other review). I love happy people that I can stand and chat with as I’m being checked out. I love to laugh… these people just want to get you out of the store. I guess I understand. After all, there’s only about ten registers, six in which are open, & usually ridiculously long lines. I gave HEB2 stars only because the employees are starting to look well put together & I have run into a few cool people lately. It’s funny because last Sunday, I ran into 2 different women I know there that do not live in the area. My husband said, Why the heck are y’all shopping way over here? Their response… their grocery stores are BAD& they didn’t want to deal with it right before the Texans play. LOL!!! I cannot imagine Spring HEB being a step up from anything!!! If you’re in my area, like I usually say, DONOT stop!!! Hit the HEB at Rayford Sawdust!!! :-)

Let me start by saying I Love HEB! However I just had the worse experience a few seconds ago. This is the HEB off of Aldine Westfield and 1960. First the teller made a comment on the intercom that shouldn’t of been made. The only cashier working was Jules. She came on the intercom and stated, «HEB is closed, Hurry up and get out… Thank you.» There was no warning. Then, I was going to grab something from your endcaps and she proceed to give me attitude. She told me in the rudest voice possbily I wasnt allowed to get anything for security purposes. So, I asked her if I was able to purchase the 2 items I had in my cart or not. She gave me a horrible look. She checked me out and then left the register with my 2 items in the bagging area. Waited for me to load my own cart. The cashiers name was Jules she has been with your company for a while. I am so suprised that HEB would allow her or any employee to talk to any customer like that. Also, does HEB have dress code? It does not look right that you have cashiers wearing fake white eyelashes. We are not even in the month of October. I am thinking of taking my business elsewhere.
