I’m really disappointed with this restaurant. I tried it a few weeks ago and it was okay. I had the ranchero chicken burrito. Nothing to call home about. I thought I’d give it another try and get something different. Burrito is a little better this time, but the service was terrible. Their house salsa was literally crushed tomatoes and that’s it. When I got up to the window to pay there were two employees arguing. The girl at the window just kept complaining that she didn’t have any money in her drawer and she had to give me quarters back instead of ones. Everyone in the kitchen just kept yelling at each other. Very unpleasant. She could of at least shut the drive thru window! Will not be going back again.

I tried the poblano avocado burrito and got no avocado. I’m not sure how one forgets to put avocado in a burrito that has avocado in the title. The«fire» grilled chicken just didn’t taste good and there was absolutely no «fire» aspect to it. Was a weird chewy dry texture also. Definitely not poblano or avocado tasting either — or really anything else it was described as. A coworker and I both tried different burritos and ended up throwing them out before we were halfway through… I don’t know, maybe it’s good if you like bland tasting food. But if you like lots of flavor, I wouldn’t recommend.

Okay, I live in a subdivision close to this location and waited until now to try them out. I wanted to let them get past the rush of opening and the training of their employees. Wow, if I got a meal like this after they’ve been trained, I can only imagine what a meal was like during their opening weeks. Have you ever reheated chicken in the microwave and hit 10 mins on the timer, instead of 1? Think dry in a nuclear holocaust sort of way… Yes, that was the chicken breast and wing I had. The flour tortillas were already dried to the point of them being inedible and I didn’t even try the vegetables. Everything went into the trash can. Save yourself the grief and if you want good roasted chicken, go to Kroger or HEB and get a whole one already cooked in the deli isle. It would cost less, taste better, and you definitely get more. One and done for«El Pollo Loco Secos»

Had coupons for this restaurant and wanted to try it out… since it was new in the Spring area. Sorry to say… but will try again. Ordered two shrimp tacos and a chucken salad. Preparation of both was horrible. Let me start with the shrimo tacos(no coupon for these) .The corn tortilla was cold and I mean not even warmed up… everything inside looked like it had just been thrown in… no balance to salsa or vegetables. The salad lettuce was wilted and the avacado was black and very overly ripened. Went threw the drive-thur so afterwards did not want to drive back. It’s a new fast foods place, just opened a month ago… so sad. but too bad won’t be back. D. Mayorga

Had this for dinner. Shrimp tacos, chicken tacos, and ultimate double chicken bowl. To put it plainly, the food is okay, but the tortilla used for the tacos absolutely suck. Tastes cold, stale, preserved, and just gross. The shrimp, chicken, and everything else was okay. I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Probably good for a quick cheap eat, but very disappointed in this place. Fix the tortillas please. I’m not a picky eater, but that was awful. Freshness trumps over anything else.

Chicken was old, cold. Half of my order was missing. Will never eat here again. Advise not to use drive thru and go inside if you want to try there food. A waste of money.

I went for the first time to the new El Pollo Loco«fast» food place in Spring. I was one of three people in line(and maybe 8 cars in the drive through). When I got up to the counter I was told that there was a ONEHOUR wait for chicken! What? Explain that one to me. Needless to say, I didn’t wait.

I was not very pleased with the service or the food. The person behind the counter barely spoke English and it seemed to upset her that I wasn’t able to speak Spanish. I asked her if I could get an order to go for a co worker and it was like pulling teeth. My chicken was dry and chewing, no taste whatsoever. Claudias wasn’t much better. The beans(frio) were passably. With the bad service and below average food I doubt that I will be back. Happy Holidays Unilocalers, peace!

I wish the food was as good as the service. I had the Mexican Cobb Salad. It was very close to being good, but needed a little more attention to detail. For instance, the avocados had a lot of brown spots and the chicken was overdone and dry. My husband had enchiladas on a bed of rice as well as a tamale. It did not taste fresh… canned sauce and frozen tamale. His chicken was dry as well. We had a side of guacamole. The chips had stale, rubbery spots in them and the guacamole was not worth the price. I hope they get the kinks worked out as I’ve heard good things about the chain in general.

My coworker was nice enough to pick me up lunch from here today– mine was ok, nothing special. I got one of the bowls that had chicken, broccoli, and black beans. They didn’t give us any utensils or napkins. My co-worker couldn’t even eat 2 out of the 4 things she ordered because they were so disgusting. She showed me the pieces of chicken they used in her tacos and I about puked. After living in California for 3 years and eating El Pollo Loco frequently, I know what the taste and quality of the food SHOULDBE, and this just isn’t it…

I went for lunch today because both my coworker and myself have been just waiting for this place to open. After having an in depth convo with the drive thru person over what I should try, I decided on the chicken avocado tacos. Well, 30 mins to and from the office and $ 12 later, I get back to find that I got shrimp tacos. Yuck! It is just not my thing, not to mention, if I had an allergy, it would have been too late after taking a bite. I called and of course got the old, «well we will comp your next meal.» Yeah, well thanks but what am I supposed to do without lunch now. Not happy

Food is good and reasonably priced, but making it «a meal«only gets you a drink and small bag of tortilla chips. They don’t label the food, so you don’t know which of the tacos is yours. Big burrito for $ 5.50. Fresh made to order.

Amazing food and service! I’m from California and was counting days till this location opened and it was worth the wait! Food was outstanding, hot and fresh. I’ve been to the Katy location but the food there is usually cold and the chicken is burnt. Will be frequenting them a lot!

Dang this place is good! I don’t know if it’s just because the opened up 3 days ago or what! But the food is amazing! So much cheaper than the other big chain taco and burrito places. Their meat is seasoned just right and the salsas are top notch!

So let me start by saying I live by a location years ago in Chicago. I never once stepped in because of the stories I heard. But when in Texas, do as the Texans do! Since everyone was talking about, I was going to be about it. We order a few things to try: Shrimp avocado tacos– O.M.G. I am a realist. So when I ordered the shrimp I really didn’t have high expectations. But the sauce was so yummy on these tacos. But the shrimp… They were plentiful! About four to five quarter size grilled shrimp with seasoning. I LOVED them! Being someone who is always looking for vegetarian options or seafood options. Bye bye chipotle! Hello El Pollo Loco! Crispy chicken taco– shredded season beef and cheese, fried taco shell. Also was very good! I added some onion and cilantro from the salsa which made it perfect for me! The fiancé added some salsas on his. Ranchero chicken burrito– the fiancé got this. He really liked it! Great chicken flavor as well as great sauce on it! BRC burrito– bean rice cheese burrito. Simple in a flour tortilla. I wish I could get it in a different tortilla(which I didn’t even ask so will next time). But can’t complain. Salsa bar– the place was PACKED as well as the drive through line. However this staff was showing what rock stars they are and were walking around making sure every was happy and filling that salsa bar up with FRESHHHHH stuff! Like actual onions, cilantro, jalapeños, and different salsas. I loveeeeeee this area! I can never have enough cilantro! Horchata– if you don’t know it’s a rice milk drink with cinnamon. I grew up on this stuff and for some reason it seems hard to find around certain parts of spring/the woodlands. So was delighted to see it here. I’m not sure if this was so amazing because it’s new, but I really hope not! I will be back! Many many many times El Pollo Loco. When we got our order they accidentally gave us one wrong taco, with out hesitation they handed us the right taco and said our mistake keep the other one as well. Great customer service and even the management was on the floor in the fight with the team!(My favorite thing to see at busy restaurants.) Please keep that staff happy and food fresh. Because I’ve already bragged about y’all to so many people tonight! ***I posted the full menu, check the pictures!****
