I was initially referred to Big Tex by a family member who had previously purchased palms from them. They looked awesome in their backyard so I wanted to check this place out. My husband and I were in the market for some large privacy hedges/trees. We were greeted by a friendly salesperson James and we explained to him our needs. He was great — had full knowledge and took us to the area in the nursery(it is a big nursery) that suited our needs. He showed us several bushes/trees that would be in our interest. He wasn’t pushy or tried to up-sell us, just wanted to make sure we knew the pros and cons about the different plants. We decided to go with the Japanese Blueberry as it has the height we wanted and is an evergreen. They are real beauties! We set up delivery which was quick and went over logistics. Everything was easy and fast thanks to James. Once the trees arrived, Nico and his team went right to work. He talked to us about the care and maintenance of the trees. Throughly went over watering schedules and any fertilizer additives. He and his crew were great — super fast and attention to detail. He did offer an extended warranty which is like any extended warranty; good if you need it but not necessary. We did; however, choose to have supports added for the trees since they are big. It was a good investment $ 90 for 3 large trees that will last at least 1.5 years. I was amazed how fast they were in and out in about an hour! They look so nice in our barren backyard that we are considering getting a few more plants in the future. I think Big Tex Nursery is a great value for the delivery and planting services they provide plus their extensive selection they carry.

they are very expensive. the kid that sold my husband tree was very pushy. a strange man came to door about a week before to come check on gas lines. He had no id no center point truck I turned him away. they never called and told us .day of planting there were 7 people and a crane. When they got to sprinkler system guy said oh we can plant it now. I was what this is too shallow. so he said oh we will knock off some dirt still didn’t work. then I called our gardener and he came over to supervise .thet made a complete mess. Now the tree is not in center of landscape area, bushes not all planted. This tree cost around $ 5,000.now my husband is hiring someone else to redo the mess they left… never use these people unless you buy a bush and plant it yourself…

Big Texas in Spring, TX are the bait and switch specialists. I called them because I needed 5 trees for the yard. I wanted a carrot wood and 4 caphors. I wanted smaller trees that could become established and not knowing how they would survive, I really didn’t want to spend too much. Big Texas always has their 3 for $ 399 or $ 769 packages advertised so I thought that would be a good option. I asked specifically if they had the trees I was looking for. The salesperson said if they didn’t have them in stock, he could order them in. He said to come on down and sign the paperwork and he’d order them straight away. When I got there it was a whole different story. He said what they had onsite was all they could sell and then he tried to upsize me to buy the $ 1000+ trees. He even asked what kind of payments I was looking for as if he was some used car dealer. I said no and told him I would call in a few weeks when they received more stock. A few weeks later, different salesman but same story about ordering in trees. They must be trained to lie to prospective customers to get them in the door then upsize the sale.

Purchased palms, flowers and shrubs on 5÷30÷15 with delivery date of 6÷12÷15. I was told by manager that they would contact and get my utilities marked prior to installation of plants. Day before installation still no sign of and Big Tex tells me they must’ve forgotten to call them. Was told that any damage to any utility would be covered by Big Tex. 6÷12÷15 installation day comes and sure enough my cable line was cut going to my house by workers. Lead driver told me to call cable company and tell them that I did it so it would get fixed for free. Called Big Tex and spoke to manager who sold me the plants and was blown off by him, «what do you want me to do?» was his comment. Obviously nothing, the sale was done they already had my money. Took another 4 days to get cable/internet back up at home and since I work from my home this really put a blow to my productivity. I will not be spending another cent and this location. Their lack of concern and disregard for customer follow up is appalling. Makes the other«used car salesman» comments by others seem that much more believable.

Great variety of trees but beware of the constant up selling. Every time I go, I feel like they are used car salesmn. Let me walk around and see what is there before you barrage me!

We bought 12 big trees from Big Tex, they are all beautiful and in excellent condition, in fact they look better in then when we picked them out at the lot. Nico and his crew were fast and very helpful helping us get all the trees in, in a way that way not only best for the trees but also designed beautifully. They also made sure we understood how to best care for then before leaving. They really were great! We would recommend Bix Tex to everyone!

I went to Big Tex Nurseries to change out a couple of unattractive magnolia tress and a bottlebrush for some crêpe myrtles and a flowering plum. The ad I saw stated 50−75% off all trees… three 75 gallon trees at over $ 430 a piece does not sound like 50−75% off… if it is than the prices are even that much more ridiculous. Then Nicolas and his crew showed up to remove the old trees and plant the new ones… these guys are great! Professional and quick. However it was mentioned there was a warranty that could be purchased on the trees for after 90 days… which I was a bit surprised about since I thought since they were being planted by Big Tex, that they were fully guaranteed… there is no way we would pay additional money for those trees when I know I could get them for far less at another nursery in the area. One star has been deducted for outrageous pricing. But again, the planting crew was fantastic!
