Ok my gosh, NO! Sushi is above average. Some nice rolls. The food is generally good but… and this is a big but… the management is horrible. On our last visit, the order was screwed up and the service very slow. We could wait no longer and we had to go. We asked for the check as we split the one order that arrived in time. On the bill was a charge for the rice that was the only delivered food on my wife’s order. We hadn’t touched it but it was charged. We complained to the waiter but he said the manager had insisted. There across the restaurant was the manger, arms crossed and glaring at us. Amazing. Never had an experience like that but we will never return, either. If you ever have a problem here, you are going to be wrong.

First time tonight to try this place. We got in right away and sat at the bar. All the sushi chefs were very friendly and wait staff very sweet! The sushi is super fresh, well made and very tasty! Price is great for food and drinks. We will definitely come back!

Absolutely without a shadow of a doubt WORSTHIBACHIEXPERIENCEEVER! My husband and I took our son & five others for our sons 18th Birthday… We we’re so disappointed. All the chef did was literally make the food in front of us nothing else no show at all. If you are interested in a true Hibachi experience DONOTGOHERE, take you’re money elsewhere. We spent $ 230 for 8 people and have never been so disappointed!

For a first time coming here it was great. Great and very helpful waiter service wise and Q/A for sushi beginners. Good place to come for sushi. They don’t have a giant menu for sushi but it does the job. You would have to know what’s in every roll bc they do not list what it contains which could get annoying having to ask which they all contain. But overall great food and great spot!

I have been going to other sushi places in the area(Raku/Uni) and decided to try Akaihi again for the first time is a couple years. We noticed the roll did not seem fresh and tasted fishy. We contacted our waiter and even scraped off the crab salad they placed on top of our roll(which was suppose to be simply crab but it seemed like they were trying to use up old crab), safe to say the crab was something neither one of us could chew due to the taste. We ordered the Atsu Atsu and the Scorpion both of which I have had before and neither one was worth returning for this time around. In total we spent $ 29 and $ 7 on a tip for two rolls(and miso soup) that were far from fresh. To make problems worse, the both of us became very ill after the sushi. I contacted my doctor with my symptoms and exactly what each of us ate yesterday(all was different), it has all been traced to Akaihi. She also spoke to me regarding the legal side. I contacted the restaurant earlier today to simply inform them that two customers were ill. The manager who was a man began shouting at me and began speaking very disrespectful. I informed him I was looking for compensation even though $ 36 on meal that causes you to spend even more money is not right. He began to make threats and say no one else had this problem and it was due to us not being able to eat sushi and it says illness is common and the menu. Excuse me? I have eaten at many many places and have never once received a sushi roll that was crab, shrimp tempura, or seared tuna that has made me sick. Bottom line: no customer service, manager threatened a customer, and food that is in bad conditions causing illness. Will not return and will be telling others about this visit. Both raku and uni have much better sushi that is not only fresh and flavorful but it will not make you sick.

This was a nice find on a cold day after an afternoon movie. We had hibachi and the owner himself cooked our meal. We sat next to a gentleman he was a regular and we agreed with his sentiments that this place definitely catered and had really good food. The salad and the soup that you get before the meal was very good as well we will definitely be back because it’s close to home

We have probably been here a dozen times. It is 3 star on its best night. Last night was a 2 star experience. They were understaffed with hibachi chefs and so the wait for food was long. The server was a complete dunce. We asked for soy sauce and he took it from a couple across the table who had just received their food. After they spoke up he returned it to them. We ended up having to get up and get our own from the other side if the restaurant. Chriashi was the weakest example I have ever seen. Only reason to go here is to entertain the kids.

Ordered orange chicken but was served something that tasted like Kung pow chicken. It was good but it’s not what I ordered. I think Bc this place is a Japanese place is was not smart of me to choose something Chinese. My server was great and the hostess seems like she despised her job

I only put a star because I had to. I ordered the orange beef, chef BURNT the chills to the point that the dish tasted burnt. I told the waitress(very nice lady) about it. She brought the manager/owner me over he said he will not make me a new one but he will take it off my tab the guy was a complete ass

This is my wife and I go to place. Really love coming here. We have become regulars and most the wait staff are familiar with us. The environment is a nice, somewhat dim, comfortable setting. Lunch menu is a STEAL if you like hibachi. really affordable hibachi during lunch hours. The happy hour is still pretty cheap for a dinner only difference from lunch is they add two shrimps. Use to have ice cream too don’t know why it was taken off. If a soup comes with whatever meal you get ask for a soup of your preference. They won’t tell you no even though it says Miso and you want a hot and sour. If you order a sushi combo during lunch you can substitute one of the hand rolls for two of the other hand roll offered. Example: If it comes with a spider roll and spicy salmon roll, you can either get two spider or two spicy salmon Wait staff is pretty attentive to you and checks on you. I’ve never had issues in the 20+ times I have been there. Especially the wait staff that has been there for a long time. All in all really love going here.

I see that the reviews show this place to be hit or miss, but I had a good visit. I had a taste for sushi, my favorite food and decided to try somewhere new. I stopped in around 630p on a Thursday evening. I was greeted as I walked through the door and sat immediately. My waitress was a my table in about 2 minutes to take my drink order. My drink was at my table quickly. I put in my appetizer order and it also appeared quickly. I then ordered 2 sushi rolls which also appeared quickly. I ordered a Mai tai, hot and sour soup, the Dynamite roll and the Sky Diver roll. The hot and sour soup was very good. The Mai Tai was exactly what it was supposed to be. The dynamite roll had much more breading than I thought it would. It tasted good but is definitely what I call«Americanized» sushi. Many people will like it, just not what I was looking for at the time. The sky diver was good, the description reminded me more of a spider roll. The crab was very small and… again, tasted good, many will like it, just not what I was looking for.

Lunch is so cheap. Very good all the time. Would have been 5 stars but i dont care for fried veggis. Just ask for steamed bento box is 9 bucks and great for lunch. Kids love the saltwater fish tank. Staff very nice and sushi always fresh and wonderful. I eat here every sunday when possible.

Great food for a good price. I usually come for the bento boxes, the salmon box is very good, although sometimes is better that others. The service is good and the place is clean, I have never been here on a crowdy day so I wouldn’t know what to expect. I don’t like the miso soup here but the beef soup make it up for it.

Came in with a friend for lunch. It was my first time, and she’s a regular. It’s a nice little place, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff are very friendly. We ordered veggie tempura, a small fried rice, two rolls, and Japanese nachos. The tempura and fried rice were pretty ordinary. The rolls we had we had were the Little Mermaid and Firecracker. Both were very good! Maybe because I’m a very big fan of spicy chopped scallop. The Japanese nachos were really interesting, it’s a piece of fried seaweed topped with a lightly fried lump of spicy tuna drizzled with spicy mayo and eel sauce. My friend and I really enjoyed it. Overall, it was a really good local sushi restaurant and it reminded me of another local place in my neighborhood that I used to frequent. I would come back the next time I’m in the area.

A unique spin on Hibachi. The flavors are bold and compelling but also some risks are taken with the seasoning and even the accompanying sauces for the meat and rice. I was very surprised by the change from the traditional Hibachi approach but the alignment shift was well thought out and executed greatly. Thumbs up.

1.4.15 We were seated quickly. After waiting a long time, they finally came and took our drink orders. Drinks were served but we still continued to wait before they took our order. We had to get another waitress to get our server. When a lady(who wasn’t our server) came over, she asked«oh they didn’t take your order” — that became more frustrating. Once our orders were taken, then the rest of lunch was better. The food was good but today’s service was not their best. This isn’t the first time dining here but today’s experience moved me to write this review. PS– it pains us to pay 18% gratuity for our party of 8 automatically when the service was not worth it.

I love hibachi. And I’ve been to a few good hibachi places in California and Houston. This place was overall decent. The food was good, except they do add too much salt to the veggies. And the chicken doesn’t have as much flavor as I thought it would. The atmosphere is boring. But they make up for it with the show they put on when making the food. That’s the best part The pricing is too high for what they offer. But the ice-cream at the end kind of makes up for it. Locally it’s a good place. But if I want the best ill have to drive a little farther.
