Usually when you go into a Mexican Restaurant, you would expect to leave bursting at the seams from the large portions. This was not the case here at Pruebelo, I ordered the Chicken Fajitas and left unsatisfied with the portion. However, they were prepared nicely and tasted good.

Excellent choice for sit-down mexican on your way home from the beach. We’ve stopped here for dinner 30 – 40 times and all the food is consistantly tasty every time. Its a little more american-mexican and less mexican-authentic than some places but thats how we prefer it! Thanks to Dave and the staff for many great meals!

We had the steak fajitas and supreme wet burrito with a side of the tijuana toothpicks! The food was extremely good and fresh! The slasa with the chips was excellent. The service was fast and friendly! The owner greeted us and spoke with us about their food and the processes that they go through in preparing their meals. Definitely a must return for us!

I took one bite of a tortilla chip and was instantly transported into another dimension. So crispy, crunchy and savory, the«melt-in-your-mouth» tortilla chip i’d spent a lifetime searching for. After just one chip I knew that life would never be the same. Crunch after crunch I became a stronger, better version of myself. The outside world disappeared and all I could see was my basket of chips and salsa, I couldn’t stop myself. The sound of the crunching chips in my mouth grew louder, swallowing the sounds of my own thoughts until it was all I could hear. The chips were entering my mouth at an alarming rate and it was getting harder for me to catch my breath. I’d lost control of my own body, my own LIFE. What was happening to me? Was this the end? I became a stranger to myself… a ravenous monster. And then it happened. In the midst of my insatiable feasting, a renegade chip stabbed my gum with an unstoppable force, igniting a surge of pain that brought me to my knees, paralyzing my mouth and pulling me away from the chips, away from everything I knew and loved. Disoriented and shocked, I slowly pulled myself back to the table to continue my journey through tortilla ecstasy. With each chip that I attempted to ingest, the pain became stronger and eventually unbearable. As much I tried to deny my new-found reality, I knew I had to face the truth: I had developed a canker sore. I was at a loss. The one thing that gave meaning to my life was now the sole cause of its destruction. I sat in my booth, hopeless, on the edge of insanity when a miracle happened: my waitress showed up with my entrée, a black bean and corn burrito. My faith had been restored.

The food freshness at this place is tops. Enjoyed their Salsa so much took a quart to go. Highly recommend.

Got take-out last night and the food was edible. The food was not good, did not have taste, and not because it was take-out.(you know how to-go food loses taste) We were sorry we spent our money(too much for what we got, in my opinion) for sub-par Mexican food. My wife went to bed feeling like crap from the dinner, similar to E Z’s review on 7/13, we went to bed with a trash can beside the bed to catch possible vomit. If you’re looking for good mexican food in the lakeshore area, give up, there isn’t any that is noteworthy.

The Domont’s have been the best Tex-Mex option on the Lakeshore for +20 yrs. they have a super loyal clientele and have had 5 star service EVER time I’ve stopped in. Great/fun décor(love the jeep and desert in the front area). Awesome chips and salsa. I did not find the previous super neg. reviews to be very accurate beyond the possible one off scenarios(I am not an employee).

I had moved out of state for about 7 years, but I remember this place in a different location back in the mid 2000’s and it was pretty good. The new location is nice and they did a nice job on creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. That being said, my experience with the food is on par with most of the reviews here. My best description would be school lunch on Mexican day. There is a lack of diversity in this area in general and it appears that they have dumbed down the food for the masses. Would be nice to see a little more authenticity, but could probably overlook the lack of creativity in the food if there were cocktails here.

The food here is below average. My burrito tasted really bland. Salsa was boring. Quality of meats and cheeses seemed sub-par. Our service was clumsy and weird. This is not a place I’d go back.

Although the food wasn’t horrible, it definitely wasn’t something I’d go back for again. The server was extremely nice, the décor was cute, but the meal left my party saying we should have gone somewhere else.

This place is absolutely awesome! I have been stopping here for years for the Jumbo Burrito Supreme. However, today I switched it up and went with the Dave’s Special Burrito. It was absolutely amazing. Their tortilla chips are freshly made and the best chips I’ve ever had. The owners could be the nicest people ever and great service.

Went here with my husband for dinner as a date night. We both got burritos since we found their menu rather limiting. Neither of us enjoyed our dinners, fining the burritos more like tortillas with sauce and cheese. It is a good thing we found their Chios to be delicious because we filled up in two baskets of chips instead of our dinner,

Wonderful place to take your out of town guests! Interesting entryway with car sticking out of the wall. Nice ambiance and the food is always top notch and consistent. Like the upper deck level. Weekends feature some live entertainment at no extra charge. We always enjoy visiting Prueblo.

It you’re looking for traditional Mexican, this is not the place to go. Friendly, fast service but the food was so-so. Would have liked rice and beans with my burrito.

For what it is; it’s good. The chips and salsa they give you are tasty. I don’t think its particularly authentic. If you’re trying to impress a latino in-law or client I would try another place. However, if you’re craving good American bastardized Mexican food, this is the place for you.
