Meh… I would have like to leave 2.5 starts but that isn’t an option and 2 seemed too low so 3 it is… We went here last night for restaurant week and it was ok… just ok. We ordered the daily punch to start which was just a red sangria which was extremely sweet but we drank it. We then ordered Moscow Mules to have something a little bubblier after all the sugar but it just tasted like lime juice, no bubbles and no ginger beer. But that was all ok, fine, whatever. We were hoping to do the Chef tasting but had to either choose between the restaurant week menu or order from the regular menu so we went with restaurant week and just added one more table plate to share. The most disappointing thing about the restaurant week menu is that out of 7 courses we were only able to choose two of the courses, the rest were preset which is why we decided to add another plate. So… on to the dinner. For the first course we had the deviled eggs and popcorn cauliflower. The eggs were delicious! The cauliflower was also very tasty although a bit on the greasy side but still quite yummy. Second course(preset) was the Jalapeño Chips with honey cream cheese dip. These were ok… a slightly overcooked kettlechip with like 3 jalapenos on top and a drizzle of dip down the side of the bowl… again they were ok. The third(preset) course was the West African Pumpkin Soup which was by far the best item of the night, just a little bit of a kick to it and very flavorful. The fourth(preset) course was the Pork Belly which was ok. My BF enjoyed the creamy fat however, I thought the actual meat was pretty dry but definitely good flavor so still ok. The fifth course is the one we added which was the Duck Confit Pancakes — the duck was dry and overcooked however, everything else really tasted good. There were a lot of great flavors on this one so we didn’t even mind the dry duck. The sixth(preset) course was the«palate cleanser» which was a champagne sorbet. It tasted good — like sugar ice. For the 7th course we had the Fried Steelhead and the Sichuan Tofu. I didn’t care for the steelhead at all as it was extremely dry and overcooked. It definitely had potential as the flavors on it and the rice were all good but dang was that fish dry. Again with the tofu, great flavors however, I don’t know if it was peppercorns or what the deal was but it was extremely gritty like there was dirt or sand in it. I assume it must have been large pieces of spices or something but it made it a bit difficult on the teeth. For the final course we had the Carrot Donuts or that’s what they said they were. We didn’t even eat these, they were terrible. The donuts tasted like a plain doughnut that has been fried too many times and probably sat for quite awhile as it was by no means fresh and all you could taste was the fryer and the whipped cream cheese just tasted like powdered sugar. As I said, it was ok… there were some good items and some not so good items. I guess I really didn’t realize how much of their food was fried though as I was really hoping for a fresher experience but left with an upset stomach from all of the grease so I suppose that is my bad.

Great food, great sangria to share with your table. yes, this is a hipster restaurant but the food is amazing. I am seriously addicted to the maple deviled eggs. Every time we go here and try something new it’s not disappointing. The prices are fair and the food is great and they’re very accommodating, we had a reservation at 10 o’clock for a very late dinner and they had no issue with it whatsoever. I love it when a restaurant appreciates their customers.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times and I love it. Every time the waiter has been exceptional and so helpful in catering to my food allergies. My boyfriend took me here for a date and we did the $ 40/person meal and had 10 courses, each unique and delicious. More recently, it has been my restaurant of choice to go out with my girlfriend’s for an appetizer and drink. Highly recommend! Their potato chips are the best ever.

We had reservations for early afternoon on Valentine’s Day. There were only two other tables occupied when we got there. Our meals were delicious but took 45 minutes to arrive. We received our appetizer before our drink order which is just a peeve of mine. I think drinks should be served with or shortly before anything else. It just didn’t seem like it should take 45 minutes to get our entrée when the place was nearly empty. Food was good but it’s not fun sitting there hungry waiting and waiting when there doesn’t seem to be a good reason. We also were never asked if we wanted another drink the entire meal.

I had to update this review. The first time we went, my wife and I did the Chef’s choice and only spent $$ 35/person. This time, we went with another couple and bumped it up to $ 65. Baller status. $ 65 sounds like a lot of money until you think about what you get. More food, delicious, amazing food than you can possibly consume. As with last time, there was one course that I didn’t care for(a beet salad… but I can’t stand beets). Everything else was incredible. The deviled eggs, as before — amazing. Pork cheek that was simply perfect. A cream cheese gelato that I wanted to bathe in. One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten.

I will start off by saying the food was good and the sevice wasn’t bad. My wife and myself decided to give this a go on our our anniversary which is one of probably two nights a year we get a break from the kiddos. We thought the«choose your own price» guided by their chef sounded fun. Well… we chose $ 45 each and we received the exact same things that the 3 tables next to us got. I’m not sure what prices they chose? I am sure that had we just ordered from the menu we would have gotten more food. We left hungry after dropping 100 bones. My recommendation to management would be to drop having the customers choose the price and just have a set price. It just seemed very impersonal and not quite how the menu described it. Maybe we were just there on the wrong night?

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Spokane. I’ve visited multiple times over the 6 months that I was living there and have had consistently great experiences. It was also my go-to restaurant for out of town visitors to showcase good food in Spokane. I would highly recommend going with the tasting menu, especially if you are not in a rush and have plenty of time to enjoy good food and good company. The tasting menu at the Wandering Table is unique because you can choose a price range from $ 20 – 65. Any price range you choose will get you enough food; I’ve gone with the $ 25 and $ 65 options, and I think they have approximately equivalent amounts of food(about 9 courses or so, so you definitely won’t go hungry even with just the $ 20 menu). The difference is that choosing the more expensive option gets you more interesting, unique ingredients that might be worth splurging on. For example, we received several dishes that weren’t listed on the regular a la carte menu — including chicken hearts. They were delicious and I wouldn’t have tried them otherwise. Some of my favorites overall at this restaurant are: deviled eggs with maple bacon filling — which was delicious, pastrami duck(very flavorful and innovative take on pastrami, with pickled mustard), and miso roasted black cod. The area near this restaurant is up and coming, and pretty cool to drive over the Monroe St bridge over the river with a view of the clock tower. Easy parking on the street or in a lot behind the restaurant. Beautifully decorated restaurant, delicious food, excellent service, and not overly pretentious at all. Definitely a great intro to Spokane for visitors!

My husband and I came for lunch and loved our overall experience. We came on a Saturday and were one of the only patrons; because it wasn’t busy, we had incredibly fast and responsive service from the waitress/server(Jocelyn). Both of us got the lunch combo where we select a starter, a salad of sorts, and an entrée; for $ 14 a person. We loved the variety we were able to sample between the both of our dishes.(See photos for what we ordered). Definitely would be a frequent patron if I still lived in town!

I haven’t posted a Unilocal review in so long but had to for this gem. I set my price point at $ 25 and was served a very impressive tasting menu. I told my waitress that I liked healthier dishes with lots veggies and protein. Everything she brought out was on point — the deviled eggs, pumpkin soup, kale salad(which was shockingly good, even for kale), as well as the tofu entrée. This dish was really fantastic — the candied garlic gave the broth a perfect balance of sweetness. Even more food came after this — all good but I was too full to touch much of it. The only thing I did not like was my cocktail — but then again it might be my fault for ordering a drink with amaro and aperol. My waitress kindly changed this out for a different drink, so I can’t complain. Overall — AMAZING food. Lovely atmosphere for a date or casual get together. So happy I went!

I have been to Wandering Table one time so far, and will be back many more. My group did the Chef’s Choice for $ 20 per person and we were highly impressed. I was a little nervous that choosing the cheap end of spectrum would give us less food, but that was not the case at all. We got an appetizer, salad, at least five main course items, and dessert. We all left full… Full of food and full of pure bliss. Wonderful food! Also, you can specify if there are any allergies or food dislikes(my group opted to skip seafood since a few of us don’t care for it), and they are very accommodating. My favorite items were the Deviled Eggs(the public’s outcry of admiration and love is totally justified on these), the spaghetti-stuffed meatball, and our dessert – an olive oil ice cream with a freshly made peach doughnut. Such an inventive idea for a restaurant, and the execution is superb. A wonderful experience to splurge on every once in a while!

So much fun! My husband and I visited last night and the service, food and waitresses was amazing. We ended up doing the chef’s choice that ended up being perfect to pass the night away! Great for a date night!

Tapas at it’s finest. I’m so happy we stumbled on this little gem. It’s a little out of the way and you feel like your in a residential area. You may even want to make reservations because the secret is out on this place. If you don’t have reservation you may be stuck in the limited seating area area or stuck out on the street in the heat. Service is delightfully pleasant and very helpful if it’s your first time. Ps If it is your first time, give yourself plenty of time to. savor and enjoy each course. This is not a place where they will rush you through. Worth every penny.

The service was phenomenal, the food was way too good I could have eaten my self into a satisfied coma. The bacon on the deviled eggs was so tasty. Spaghetti in meat balls? Who even came up with that? BRILLIANT! Brought leftovers home and my friends were extremely pleased as well. Definitely recommend this place! Side note: the coffee was really good.

Ok, I’ve been here twice now, which means I can give a proper review. My wife and I absolutely love this place. The plates are small, but the tastes are huge. We were lucky enough to make it to the Unilocal Spokane Supper Club night and got the Chef’s Choice $ 40 dinner for $ 25. They were more than happy to accommodate my vegetarian tendencies. Here’s what we had: 1) Deviled Eggs: I don’t even like deviled eggs. But these were amazing. There was some kind of maple syrup on top which totally sealed the deal. 2) Kale Salad: If there is one thing your body needs, it’s more kale. Seriously people, eat more kale. 3) Crispy Cauliflower with Curry Aioli: We had this last time and I prayed to the vegan gods that they would serve it this time. Success! 4) Asparagus with Cheese: Three words that couldn’t be more perfect together. 5) Tofu Soup. Chilled. Yum. 6) Pea and Cheese Salad. I’ve never had anything like this before. It was amazing. 7) BUTTERNUTSQUASHFRIES. Yes, I’m yelling. Pieces of squash battered and deep fried to perfection and served with a spicy chipotle sauce. So good. I can’t even … 8) Flatbread with Eggplant Tapenade: Also topped with onions and artichoke hearts. We were so stuffed by this point. But I managed to cram half of this thing into my stomach because it just tasted so good. I even had all the pieces my wife couldn’t finish. I’m nice like that. 9) Warm, moist, chocolate-chip cookie with ice cream on top: How every meal should be ended.

A small plate feast. What a fantastic experience. We came to take advantage of a wonderful offer for all Unilocalers, through the monthly Unilocal Spokane Supper Club. We received a $ 40 meal for just $ 25! It was a Chef’s Taste for each of the small courses served. FOOD *Deviled Eggs(2 halves), with pomme frites(micro french fries), bacon, maple glaze *Baby Kale Salad with curado cheese, shaved mushrooms *Asparagus, toasted garlic bits, truffled cheddar cheese *Miso Soup with pork broth(lots of ginger), ramen salad *Fried cauliflower coated w/rice flour, raisins, curry aoli *Steelhead, rainbow chard slivers, chard stem bits *Beef sliders with pineapple salsa, butter lettuce, 1 bun requested after ordering gluten free items *Applewood-Vanilla Crème Brulee I made a request for gluten free dishes and was asured that I could be accommodated without much change to the menu. As already shared by other Unilocal diners, the food can be unparalleled. This was our first visit and I was wowed by the tastes, textures, freshness, and attractive presentation of all the dishes served. Each was served family style(one dish, shared by all at the table) and presented as you finished the preceding dish. A couple of exceptions from a gluten free diet was the ramen in the miso soup and the requested bun for one of the sliders. The portion sizes were definitely small, but oh so well prepared, absolutely delicious. Their kale was the first and best I’ve ever had, being not bitter. We finished our incredibly delicious meal still feeling a fraction unfullfilled though. Service was friendly, efficient, and attentive. Like fellow Unilocaler Tony D. said on his check in, we felt like royalty. When our wait person could not answer questions, she went to seek the answers and promptly returned. The Wandering Table is one of several restaurants, all family owned, located in the lovely Kendall Yards area. Their website says their food is all locally sourced. Parking is free on the street. *4.5 stars rounded up to 5!* Wandering Table and Alyssa A., thank you for a top shelf meal opportunity!

Me: «So let me get this straight — you just tell them how much you want to spend, say you want the chef’s choice, and they just start bringing out food?» My friend: «That’s all there is to it.» That conversation directed me to my latest culinary adventure at the Wandering Table. My wife and I love to try new restaurants, and I particularly enjoy sampling several dishes as opposed to filling up on just one. This experience was right up my alley. Our server, Ryan, had excellent timing, checking in with us as pleasant intervals(without hovering) and bringing food just when we were ready for it. He was also friendly and patient as I awkwardly tried to figure out how drinks fit into the price. Starting at the beginning, my wife ordered an Old Fashioned that was strong enough but not too strong. I had an Orlison/Roast House collaboration beer, a Vanilla Coffee Stout(last picture, with my lovely wife). It was delicious! Ryan then appeared with maple bacon deviled eggs and some tasty roasted parsnips(9th picture is the egg. We were hungry and had already eaten the parsnips before I thought to snap a picture). Soon after, here came a refreshing shaved carrot, green onion, and cashew salad(picture 8). It was light and excellent. Hot on its heels were pulled pork sliders with pickled onions and peppers(7th picture). I would eat an entire meal of these. Next up: pastrami cured duck breast with sauerkraut and stone ground mustard along with Hoisin Fried Tofu, which came in dashi broth with fried garlic. That course is picture 6, and I enjoyed it as well. Not bad for someone who generally does not appreciate tofu. *Please bear in mind that these were mini portions of everything. Reviewing my photos and writing this, I am shocked at how much food we actually tried.* After the tofu and duck breast came pictures 5 and 4, fried cauliflower with curry aioli and raisin vinegar, accompanied by baked salmon with sriracha sauce. No sooner had we finished those tasty tidbits than Ryan brought fried Idaho trout with ginger glaze, cucumber jalapeño salad, and jasmine rice. That is picture 3, and it was delicious. *Note — At this point, I felt like Pavlov’s dog. As soon as Ryan appeared, I felt hungry and started looking for food. I was not disappointed.* Our final dinner course was spaghetti stuffed meatballs with marinara sauce. They were hot and flavorful(picture 2). I forgot to specify at the beginning that we didn’t need dessert, so we ended up with it, which worked out great. Picture 1 is blueberry cheesecake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the plate, crème brûlée in the bowl. They were both quite good and an excellent sweet finish to the savory masterpiece that was dinner. It is my hope that after reading this long review you feel full(of knowledge) and satisfied, much as Nancy and I did as we left the Wandering Table last night.

After many recommendations and raves from several people + Unilocal reviews we were looking forward to dinner Wandering Table. Major disappointment ! We walked in on a Wednesday around 530 and the host asked us if we had reservations. We said we did not and he told us that only the bar area was open. At this point, the restaurant was half full. But we decided to sit at the bar. Throughout the entire time wee were there, at least 4 – 5 unoccupied tables without anyone sitting after we walked in! Although we ordered a couple of drinks and few dishes, service at the bar by the bartender was very minimum and inattentive. I would understand if we just had drinks but we had dinner as well. Now the food… Umami burgers(overcooked meat/didn’t ask how we wanted it) not much flavor Seared tuna tostada(major let down on the fish and sauce !) Duck pastrami(probably the most decent dish out all of them but portion was tiny) And we decided to order what should be a crowd pleaser … Spaghetti meatballs(NOT). Also, I would highly suggest changing their house red. It’s not an easy red that would appeal to must crowds as a house should be. My husband and I left disappointed wondering what all the hype is about this place. Chef and management check yourself.

Wandering Table offers the option of a chef tasting menu with multiple courses to share at your table. I came here with a group of six and it was such a great dining experience! We did the name your price option of $ 35 each and enjoyed all the fresh, foodie deliciousness they served. YUM. They do fruits and vegetables really really well and I love their wine list. Pro tip: sit in the bar if you want the most optimal lighting.
