Will not go back! Our reservation was for 7 p.m. We arrived on time and had to wait a bit before we were seated. An HOURAND A HALF later our chef finally showed up! A table seated after us was served first and another table also seated after us was about to be served when we threatened to leave so they came to us instead. Our waitress was sweet and did her best but they were clearly understaffed even though she said they had brought in extra help. The ‘show’ was fine, although I just went to a similar restaurant in Eureka, CA where it was much better. My friend’s fruity drink seemed watered down. The food mediocre(iceberg lettuce salad, overcooked wonton/Spring roll things that they ‘comped’ us). Although I will say the steak was done perfectly if not quite seasoned enough and the scallops and shrimp good. But my bottom line is that waiting that long was unconscionable! I would never consider going back!!!

Plates were dirty and not equipped to handle a party bigger than 8. Waited almost an hour before food even began cooking. Not impressed for price paid.

Having gone to three different Japanese stake houses back home in Seattle area, I was looking for my fix while in Spokane… Specifically the orange sauce fix. The food was average but to my dismay the sauces where quite disappointing. Unlike the other stake houses, their sauces were completely different and did not come close to satisfying my need. This must change.

Awesome food, great service! Really put on a show for all of us and of course, the kids loved it!

The service was good but food was terrible, our server was pretty nice and the cook was friendly. The food tasted as if we were eating at a fast food place. I ordered filet mignon and it tasted I don’t know like what. My fiancé ordered chicken and shrimp and boy it had too much teriyaki sauce. Portion was ok but nothing worth $ 30. Also their prices doesn’t match with what they have online. Overall the worst teppan place I have ever been to.

Too much salt on everything. Also the prices are higher than they say online. The portion sizes are also pretty small for a $ 30 meal

Get for sushi and a mixed drink. Only place I found that does both. Sushi is reasonably priced.

You go here for the show, not the food. The food is edible but nothing to write home to mama about, especially at the high price point. It is purely for the entertainment value. Our chef was pretty good, kept the crowd cheering and had a fun and jovial attitude. We were here for a birthday so birthday boy got a little outfit to wear and they took a commemorative picture as a keepsake. The place does stay pretty busy with people and so the meat/seafood does seem like it’s fresh. It’s just that you don’t get a ton of flavor by cooking protein on a grill and seasoning with some soy and salt and pepper, heck that is what I do at home for a quick dinner. So ya, go for the show but don’t expect too much from the food and you won’t be disappointed.

It was a two hour wait before we got our food on a week night. Our hostess was really rude considering she never brought our rice. Customer service is lacking and the building looks really sketchy. Avoid unless you want tasteless vegetables and 2 and half hours of your time wasted.

What is so amazing is seating around a table with amazing chef cooking in front of you such amazing dishes. What ever you order is so good. For those of you afraid to seat with strangers don’t be. It’s so wonderful to come in and meet new people and for that hour they become your best friend. It’s up to you how much you are going to enjoy your evening. If you are going to seat down and play with your phone and ignore everyone or watch the amazing chef perform and cook in front of you your dinner. So leave what ever problem you have at home and come in hungry and be in a good mood. Enjoy

This place is typical of every Japanese steakhouse I’ve ever been in. The décor is slightly dark so the big vodka fire during the cooking is more impressive. The 8 person tables are evenly spaced and the cooks run the gambit of the culinary exploits, the flipping and twirling of the knife spatula, the onion volcano, the beating heart made of rice, the twirling egg flip, the sesame seeds falling while the strobe light flickers, and the deveining of the shrimp collimating with the flip of the tail into the chefs hat. I digress… The fried rice was pretty good, everything else is exactly the same as all the other places like this. It’s time for some new tricks and some different flavors. To top it off everything is overpriced.

I haven’t been for several years because of the extremely loud birthday gong. When I did go, the filet mignon was excellent and the service was good.

Oh my! :(as soon as I walked in I was hit with the smell of mildewy carpets. The staff appeared bored and ready to go home. Everything was rundown and in need of a good scrubbing. I used to frequent this place years ago but cannot recommend it anymore. I left and went somewhere else. For this price I expect much better quality.

I am wondering if «Shogun» is a Japanese word for«joke». I remember going here with my family when I was younger and either the experience was just way cooler because of my age or it was because I wasn’t paying. Speaking of paying, their prices are outlandish. And here is why: First you get 2 oz’s of some blah leftover ½ bouillon cube chicken broth that they call miso soup, next they bring out some iceberg lettuce with a dollop of some unknown watered down sauce that they also use for dipping. The rice, which they present as «would you like fried rice?» not«…for an extra charge» So because you are leaving the rice on the grill longer it becomes 3.00 more expensive? Then they use chicken thighs, not even chicken breasts… THIGHS… that taste like they came from the closeout section at wal-mart. The most expensive thing on the plate I believe may have been the bean sprouts. As for the service, I was out of water for an extended period of time and it seemed slightly unorganized. The hostesses were both on their phones and had no interest in catering to the customers. The cooking show in the middle of the table was sub par… the guy did catch an egg shell in his hat, which was what earned a second star in this review. The caveat to all of this is that the plates are ridiculously priced. My meal probably cost the restaurant no more than 4.00 and I was charged over 20. This place is definitely making a killing and due to the lack of «ethnic cuisine» and«cultural experience» in Spokane, this place can get away with the less than satisfying experience. Two thumbs down.

We have been to the chains and multiple local restaurants, this was the best. The interior and exterior are very attractive. I was almost put off by a negative post I saw about this, so glad it did not stop me. The chief was very personable and put on an excellent performance. His cooking skills matched, the food was delicious!

So my friend and I were in town visiting on our way out to the airport. We needed a place to eat and found this place on my trusty Unilocal app. However, I thought it was the same chain in LA found here, because I knew the Shogun in LA had some locations in places outside of LA, or so I thought. Either way — we were hungry, and we went. While we were driving my friend was like– are you sure this is the right way? There is nothing here but industrial buildings and it’s kinda the sketchy part of town. It seriously looked like a strip club or something. The restaurant was by itself and there were NO windows. Scary. But we ventured in. We were tired and didn’t want to be bothered looking for another place. Besides, we knew it was going to be Teppan for sure either way. The service was decent. The food was okay. Prices were par for the usual Teppan dinner. I was EXTREMELY bummed there was no PINK sauce. What the hell? Just like Bennihana. damn it. We enjoyed the food, headed back to our hotel for some much needed R&R.

Came here on Sunday after Hoopfest and arrived a little before 9 pm. Little did we realize they close at 9. As we were walking out of Shogun, contemplating what to do and where to go, the hostess came out after us and said the manager would let us eat. I thought that was very nice of them. I got the Shogun Imperial, which included steak and lobster, as well as a nice frosty glass of Kirin. The food and service were both good. They had a mustard sauce instead of the normal seafood sauce I’m accustomed to at other hibachi places, but the mustard sauce was pretty darn good so I didn’t mind. I just wish ice cream was included in the meal.

Really great and different décor reward you for the circuitous route you have the take to get here. It was a little dark and dated but seemed to be clean enough. Teppanyaki is always expensive so I can’t complain about that. Kong was our chef and he was very funny and gifted. The kids were fascinated and it was worth the visit just to watch the expressions on their face. There were enough people in our party so we all got a little taste of everything and it was quite good. The Sushi appetizers and Saki were a nice way to start out the meal — again you just need to plan on the evening being a little spendy so only go on special occasions. Our birthday boy didn’t want the little«schtick» that they do for birthdays but we got to see another table enjoy it and it looked like fun. We will be back but not for a while.
