Egg flour soup looked poisonus… miso had no vegetables and tasted like over salted chicken broth with no chives… soup is self serve… very slow… and they need to clean their grill… food was strange tasting… customer service sucks too… worst $ 25 I spent on 2 meals

I used to eat here all the time when I had a friend living close along with a business I used to always frequent regularly. I thought the food here was always really good and they are pretty darn fast at cooking everything up for you. I love the Orange chicken or really any of the specials and 2 of us could split one meal most of the time or if we were extra hungry we would get an extra side of something. Also really enjoy their shrimp and fried rice or noodles. Cheap place to eat for a nice size portion of food that is sure to fill you up.

Overall the food has always been wonderful and always hits the spot when I’m craving some spicy teriyaki. I usually call in my orders, but have eaten in their establishment a few times On the actual dine-in experience… it could use some work.. Overall the food was still great, and they do have free soup, and you can get 1 free scoop of rice and teriyaki chicken if you’re still hungry.. Each additional scoop is only $ 1.50, so that’s a pretty cool deal. The only negative I experienced is that when I’ve gone with a friend and we order at the same time, the orders have come at different times.. My friend got his and I waited up to 20 minutes for mine,. By the time I got it my friend was done eating. This has only happened a couple times, but they should work on that.. I’ve cooked for customers and I’ve always tried to time my food orders so that they can eat all together. .so they should be having a tables orders out reasonably together. . Still a great place to eat for excellent teriyaki. love it

Had lunch at Kim’s today for the 1st& only time. Mediocre food & service. Left my car in the lot & walked to visit a friend working nearby. A couple of hours later, he dropped me at my car & got out to chat for a minute & say goodbye. There was a female employee smoking out front. The lot was empty & I didn’t see any customers. She starts screaming about how the lot is for customers only & she was going to have us towed. While I understand & respect private property, she was so over the top & unprofessional that I will NEVER go back & will share this experience with people I know. Plus, it was disgusting that an employee would smoke by the front door… Plus, it’s illegal. Horrible, awful customer service!

I have been eating at Kim’s with my family since 2009. I have never found bugs in my food or seen any of the employees on their cell phones. I have never had an MSG overdose. Kim’s has been great for my family. I’m glad the portions are big– we usually split the entire plate between the three of us actually. We usually get the Yakisoba noodles or the Teriyaki combo plate. So that means I’m paying 3 or 4 dollars a person for a delicious meal cooked fresh at a local business. It’s not complicated. Kim’s is conveniently located across the street from the Garland movie theater, so we usually eat here before or after I take the kids to the movie. I’ve eaten at some of the best restaurants, and holes in the wall. The only thing recently I’ve noticed is Kim’s taking a little longer with the order because they hired a new person.

Locate across the street from the Garland Theater this little place is a no frills or gimmicks Teriyaki joint that is simply good teriyaki. The tofu stir-fry was very delicious and and the chicken teriyaki was ery good as well. Staff was very nice and welcoming. But like I said there are no frills in this place — get in, get some good food then get out :)

The teriyaki beef is probably the best in Spokane IMHO. The salad on the side is always interesting as well. The atmosphere leaves a little bit to desire as does the service, but the food makes up for both.

Wow. Have never been so mixed in our feelings about a restaurant. First time eating here. Had teriyaki chicken and rice. It was delicious. That being said, the floor and tables were dirty and sticky. The rest of the restaurant was also quite filthy… what we referred to as «grungy.» Dirtier than a typical«hole in the wall» place. Our concern was if the restaurant was this unclean, was the food safe enough to eat? After reading other reviews, we have concluded, no, it isn’t. Several people have found bugs in their food, questionable looking«meat» and huge amounts of MSG in the food. Would love to eat the tasty morsels again but not with the problems noted. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Always get the chicken. Have never been disappointed. The chicken bowl is large. I can get two meals out of it. Get extra sauce. You will need it. Hsve had a few other dishes which i also enjoyed. But i always come back to the teriyaki. Been eating since they opened.

This used to be my go-to place for great teriyaki. That is until they raised their prices. Used to be able to get a meal for $ 6 to $ 7 but now it is $ 9+ a plate and that is over my budget. The food is still good even though they switched owners a few years back. The cooks are authentic. The portions are very large so be sure to bring your appetite. I always got the chicken teriyaki or the bulgolgi beef. They both are equally great. They give you white rice and head lettuce with a very sweet-tasting(but good) salad dressing. Hint on the salad dressing: put it on the rice… makes it soooooo good! I’ve tried the tempura and it was very good! Also tried the garlic dishes but they were a bit strong. The wonton soups are good but prepare yourself for a salt overload. For first timers, I would definitely recommend the chicken teriyaki. The atmosphere is normal for a terikaki joint. Most of the times that I went there, the tables were always clean. I remember a few times during a busy lunch hour when the employees got a bit behind and some dishes were piled up but that is excusable. The service is always great. I got to know some of the cooks and when I would come in they would wave and yell from the kitchen. Makes you feel at home. It’s a good place and the food is great… if only it wasn’t so pricey.

Not the most professional atmosphere. The portions are very large, but the food itself is average. Probably won’t go out of my way to eat here again, but if you’re in the area it’s a serviceable teriyaki place. The waitstaff was very pleasant and helpful.

I finally decided to check this place out today because my boss is always raving about how great it is. The portion size was surprisingly large for the price. Pleasantly surprising quantity of beef strips in the Beef Bowl I ordered today. Tasted amazing! They use the sticky rice you just don’t see often enough in the US, and the stirfried vegetables were fresh and crunchy, not at all like the mushy bland veggies they serve at a lot of other restaurants. I liked the atmosphere, really laid back and relaxed like one of those awesome dive bars where the bartenders are a tad on the surly side and everybody knows everybody. I’m giving this 4 stars because sanitation just didn’t seem to be a huge priority for them. The drink straws were unwrapped in an open-air container on the counter, which made me hesitant to grab one. Again, though, that added to the dive-bar-like atmosphere that I kinda like. I highly recommend Kim’s and I’m looking forward to more delicious lunches in my own near future.

Not overly impressed with the environment of this place. The service is short and not very friendly. Prices are a little higher than other teriyaki places and the food portion not that much larger. We weren’t offered«free» soup so not sure if it was or not. Left a tip but probably shouldn’t have unfortunately.

Came here today since me and my bf were driving around looking for some place to eat. He ordered the beef and chicken combo and I got the lemon chicken. Free soup with the meal, I got the egg flower soup. it was ok, since the soup was ok, I was thinking my dish would be ok too. My dish came out first, took one bite and almost vomited. Nastiest food I ever tasted. The chicken was battered with no flavor and lemon was squeezed on top of the fried batter chicken. My bf dish was ok. We packed my dish for our dog who eats anything and he didn’t even want to eat the left over. Gross, save ur money and find another place to eat. This will be the first and last time we eat here.

This is our favorite place in town for teriyaki. To be honest, we like it so well that we don’t feel the need to cheat on Kim. The chicken has a nice char on it and the teriyaki has great flavor. … more later.

This was the most unforgiving meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. I came here with coworkers and we all ordered our meals. I went for the tofu yakisoba noodle meal which was a cool $ 8 bucks. Not bad. My coworkers went for the teriyaki rice bowls. You get complimentary soup with your meal. I went for the miso and couldn’t finish it. Normally I love miso soup but this one was grainy, overly salty, and the seaweed has the consistency of a bay leaf. My meal comes out and it is enormous. You could easily feed three people with this dish. I’m not one to complain about a portion being too large, but it really was a waste of food. There was well over a pound of noodles. Here comes the rough part. The food was just alright, but holy garlic and MSG overload. I found a whole clove in my noodles. I spent the rest of the day with garlic cotton mouth. It left a bad feeling in my mouth and stomach. I’m not used to so much MSG since most places are now MSG free, so the effects were quite overwhelming. I woke up at 2am in the morning, after already brushing my teeth before bed, with the foulest taste in my mouth. I had to perform a full scrub of my teeth, gums, tongue. Heck, I basically choked myself with my toothbrush trying to clean the stank out of the back of my throat. My coworkers reported questionable chicken in their teriyaki bowls, too much rice, and a lack of flavor. It’s been 18 hours and I’m finally fully recovered, but the memory lives on. The horrible feeling, the disturbance of sleep, the crushing of half a tin of altoids… I am a changed woman. Kim, why did you do this to me?

Being from Seattle, I am used to being able to find a great Teriyaki place as quickly a as I can find a great cup of coffee. In Spokane, not so much. I have tried a few other Teriyaki places here, and so far this one is the best I have tried. The service was very good. The credit card machine was down, however she did let us know before we ordered. Prices are a little high, however you do get a lot of food for your money. Free soup is a plus. We ordered our food to go, so I can not comment on the wait staff.

The service could definitely be improved. The server gave one of my friends a rather unpleasant reply when he asked for his food after waiting for ~20 minutes. Other than that the portion is really quite good. The free soup can’t hurt either. The combo teriyaki noodle dish is pretty darn good.
